Magus Supremacy - Chapter 663
Capítulo 663: CHAPTER 663
CHAPTER 663
The next day had finally arrived.
If there were windows in the room, the sun would have filtered in.
But how Grey knew was due to the fact that his Dantian and mana had naturally refilled itself.
If he wasn’t meditating or using his pills, his mana core and Dantian would naturally replenish at a much slower rate.
He had even decided to calculate how long it took as an experiment one day, and surprisingly to him, it took only a single day.
So twenty-four hours was the limit and that was how he knew it was already the next day.
Grey rubbed his eyes before letting out a tired sigh.
Glancing down at the ground, out of the three remaining shields from earlier, two had been destroyed.
But one stood in front of him. The sole survivor of Grey’s torturous crafting trials. The lone victor that had been successfully modified by the Supreme Magus.
“Now, this is what I’m talking about.” He beamed widely as he lifted the shield into the air, his eyes glistening with satisfaction.
“A shield of the epic grade. Unfortunately, it couldn’t go higher than that but it’s okay, I’m good with this.” He cocked his shoulders lazily before glancing to the side.
Pills could be seen scattered across the ground.
He hadn’t used the entire day crafting a single shield, he had already finished that hours ago.
He then decided to use his remaining time to create more pills for sale with the leftover beast cores.
So currently, about a hundred pills from different colours and batches could be seen on the ground.
Rising from the ground, he gently placed the shield away.
Then he tilted his head to the side and a loud cracking sound filled the air. He twisted his shoulders and wrists, and the same cracking echoed again.
Then he grabbed his waist and began twisting side to side as if he was whining it, and yet again, the same sound rang out.
‘Ouch, that was tiring. Didn’t even get a wink of sleep.’ He scoffed inwardly before yawning aloud once more.
“Well, that’s it on my part.” He crouched down, cleaning the magic circles and storing some other materials into his pendant before turning around and walking back to the door.
‘Let’s get some sunlight, shall we?’ he mused as he reached for the door and twisted the knob, causing a clicking sound to echo loudly in the quiet room.
Soon after, he pulled it back only to see Judy, Brook and Ash standing right in front of him.
Judy held a tray and no doubt with the tantalising aroma filling the air, it was food. Her knuckles were raised as if she had been just about to knock on the door.
Gazing at the trio, Grey shook his head before letting out a soft yawn.
“Good morning.”
“Goo… good morning Supreme Magus,” Judy shyly greeted as she quickly yanked her hand back and tucked her hair behind her ear.
“I wanted to go get some air before but come on in.” He stepped aside to let them pass.
They walked in although stiffly.
That was because of what they had seen the previous day.
Ash had witnessed firsthand the brutality of the man in front of him while the other two had seen the aftermath.
The two scenes no differently horrific.
Walking in, they could see two empty crates overturned, scorched ground as if someone had lit flames there, and faint trails of burnt mana that still lingered in the air like remnants of a storm that refused to fade.
Shattered shields lay at one corner, some double swords piled up in another corner, hundreds of pills scattered in one heap, then a pure obsidian shield relaxing against a wall.
“Woah. You didn’t sleep?” Ash asked with a shocked expression on his face.
Grey didn’t respond as he let the door open, walked forward and grabbed the tray of food from Judy’s hands.
She blushed for a moment but the Supreme Magus paid her no attention and simply walked to another corner.
Dropping the tray, he turned to the trio.
Obviously, he couldn’t eat in front of them with a mask on. In order to eat, he would need to take off the mask which he couldn’t because of obvious reasons.
“I sense that there’s something more to this,” Grey suddenly broke the silence as he narrowed his eyes at the trio before adding:
“One person is enough to bring me food. And it’s not like I’m a prisoner. I could have chosen to come take it myself anytime, so what’s the matter?”
The trio glanced at each other before chuckling nervously.
“There’s no major issue, we just came to check up on you,” Ash replied.
“And on my shield,” Brook added before swiftly placing his hands over his mouth.
“Hpmh.” Grey didn’t say anything more and calmly walked to the corner of the room.
Ash stared at him with stern, calculating eyes.
‘He isn’t being hostile. Honestly, it’s hard to believe that someone this calm could do something like that yesterday.’ He mused quietly as he watched Grey lift the obsidian shield resting on the wall and examine it.
‘But then, history has proven many times that the calm and less talkative individuals are always the most dangerous. Some of them are assassins. Some of them are born killers.’
“Here you go,” Grey’s voice snapped Ash out of his thoughts as he walked toward Brook.
Without saying anything, he handed the warrior the heavy and bulky looking shield.
Brook’s eyes glistened, like stars dancing across them as he expeditiously snatched the shield from the mage’s hands.
He expected a wave of weight to hit him but he froze as he gazed at the shield with raised eyebrows.
Contrary to what he and any other person would think, there was no weight.
Infact, the shield was technically weightless. As light as a feather.
No. Even a feather had a little bit of weight. This shield was as light as air.
“You noticed,” Grey uttered coldly as he walked away from the warrior with another tired yawn.
“That’s just one of the effects of the shield. Not to toot my own horn, but I feel like I have outdone myself working on that shield, so enjoy.”
Brook’s mouth hung open as he gawked at the weightless tower shield in his grasp, his heart pounding with excitement, admiration and disbelief all at once.
