Magus Supremacy - Chapter 600
Chapter 600: Want to play some more!
Chapter 600
“This is a warning to you all, stay off our world!” Sera thundered and then…
Snap!
KA-BOOOM!
BANG!!!
KA-BOOOM!!!
The coliseum shuddered, quaked, and rumbled all at once as over five hundred attacks rained down from the sky, smashing into the demons below like divine punishment. The explosions were so intense that the air itself seemed to scream, and the light from the blasts drowned out everything else for a moment.
They tried to run, tried to dodge like Rivock theorized, but there was no escaping it. The combined assault covered every possible angle, leaving no room for survival as the attacks sliced through them like blades through paper.
The entire coliseum floor split open with deep cracks and massive craters spreading in every direction. The sheer power of the unified strike kicked up a colossal wave of dust that rolled through the arena like a storm, obscuring everything from sight.
Those still standing coughed loudly, trying to shield their eyes as the tremors continued to ripple beneath their feet. After a few seconds, the dust began to settle just enough for everyone to see, and gradually, the air cleared.
“It… it worked?!” a yellow-band student shouted in disbelief, his voice echoing across the silent coliseum as he looked around. No single demon could be seen—not even the lower echelon.
“It also wiped out the lower echelon? That’s insane.” another student muttered, eyes wide with shock.
Instructor Kent was on his knees, panting hard as sweat poured down his face. Cuts and bruises lined his arms, his shirt was torn, and blood trickled down from a small wound on his forehead. He had been fighting nonstop, and his body was finally reaching its limit.
Noelle was down on one knee too, her body trembling in exhaustion. The moment she realized the large-scale strike had taken out every demon, a shaky breath escaped her lips.
Thalos, however, didn’t relax. His brows were furrowed, his greatsword still in hand, its blade glowing faintly as he surveyed the area. He wasn’t convinced it was over. Aside from a few minor cuts, he was mostly unharmed but his instincts screamed otherwise.
“Oh heavens, thank goodness this nightmare is finally over!” Liam shouted as he dropped to his knees with a relieved grin.
Slowly, everyone began to descend from the stands, gathering at the center of the coliseum where Rivock and Grey stood, both shirtless, their bodies drenched in sweat and blood.
Albed, standing a few meters away, couldn’t take her eyes off Grey.
‘This is who I’m sent to capture?’ she thought, her expression hardening. ‘Tch, forget it. I’ll need a captain for this mission. There’s no way I can bring back a devil incarnate alone.’
“So, it’s all over? Just like that?” Mada muttered, his voice trembling slightly, his mind struggling to process what had happened.
‘Something doesn’t feel right,’ Grey thought, his fists clenched tightly as tension coursed through him. His Ki was completely depleted, but a faint pool of mana still flickered inside him. ‘That echelon’s aura was too strong to vanish that easily. There’s no way it died from that.’
‘Grey…’ Rivock thought as his eyes flicked toward the Supreme Magus. ‘Who are you really? Earlier, I thought you were just another talented student, but now… you’re something else entirely. Is it even wise to keep antagonizing someone like you?’
‘Damn it, damn it, damn it!’ Mada cursed inwardly, frustration burning in his chest. ‘I hate to admit it, but it’s clear Grey’s stronger than me now. There’s no way in hell I can beat him! How the fuck do I take my revenge now?!’
‘Did we truly win?’ Sera wondered, her heart still racing. ‘The Twelve Echelons aren’t that weak. How did we defeat one that fast? Something’s wrong… something’s definitely wrong.’
‘Demons, huh? Another new thing I never knew about, yet it’s just been added to my pool of knowledge,’ Finral scoffed inwardly, shaking his head.
‘Wait! Demons?’ Thalos thought as his eyes darted around warily. ‘Could they be the new threat that took down my master? Is this what he was trying to warn me about before he fell? But… how could they possibly be strong enough to defeat him?’
“Alright, I think we should all return back to the academy,” Kent finally spoke up as he pushed himself off the ground with a tired sigh. His face showed exhaustion mixed with relief. “I mean, it’s all over, right? Let’s head back and get our well-deserved rest.”
“I agree with that,” Jared said, nodding as he stretched his arms with a groan.
“I second that,” Liam muttered as he yawned loudly while forcing himself to stand. His body wobbled slightly from fatigue.
‘Why is my heart pounding so hard?’ Grey thought as his fists clenched so tight that sparks of lightning began unconsciously crackling around his hands. His instincts were screaming, but he didn’t know why.
“Sure then, let’s all return,” Kent said as he turned and began walking away, the others following behind with weary steps. But after taking only three steps, the instructor suddenly halted in his tracks.
“Huh? What’s wrong? Why did you stop?” Liam asked, almost bumping into the instructor’s back. His voice trembled slightly as he sensed something was off.
‘My body… something is wrong,’ Rivock thought as his hand crept up to his chest. His heartbeat was rapid, pounding like a drum inside his ribs.
“Instructor Kent? What happened?” Ray asked cautiously.
Slowly, the instructor turned around like a lifeless puppet. The movement was stiff, mechanical, and void of emotion. Then, without warning, he opened his mouth.
“Run.”
Blood instantly poured out of his mouth as a thin crimson line appeared on his neck. The next moment, his head slid cleanly off his shoulders and fell to the ground with a silent thud.
“AHHHHH!” a female student screamed in pure horror as the instructor’s severed head rolled across the dirt. His body staggered, then collapsed heavily beside it, sending a chill through everyone present.
Only then did they see it — the thing responsible for killing their instructor.
‘Damn it! I hate when my instincts are right,’ Grey thought, fear gripping him as every hair on his body stood on end.
“What’s the hurry for, humans?” a deep, demonic voice echoed through the area.
Everyone turned, and their faces drained of color as the Lower Echelon Ten appeared right before them, its mere presence suffocating. The air grew heavier, darker, as if the world itself recoiled from the creature.
“I still want to play with you all some more,” it muttered, its eyes gleaming with malevolent delight.
