Chapter 596: Chapter 596

Chapter 596

Sensing the attack coming, the demon quickly pivoted, trying to avoid it, but Liam reacted instantly. He kicked the air with all his might, rocketing forward like a missile.

Unfortunately, the demon was faster, slipping to the side just in time—though not fast enough to avoid the slash completely. The sword smashed into its shoulder with brutal force, tearing six inches deep and causing thick blood to burst out like a spray.

The demon shrieked in agony, its eyes flaring red with rage as it glared at Liam. Without hesitation, it swung its claws from the side with terrifying speed.

Before the claws could connect, Liam kicked off the air again, his reflexes saving him by mere inches as he leaped a meter away. The claws sliced through the space where he’d just been standing, the sound sharp and deadly.

Coming in hot was Jared, who thrust his blade forward toward the demon’s torso, but in a blur of speed, it dashed to the side and countered. Its leg shot out like a hammer, and before anyone could react, the kick connected.

BAM!

Jared was lifted clean off his feet and hurled several meters away, crashing into the ground with a force that split the earth beneath him.

“As much as I hate him, he shouldn’t die,” Finral muttered, his eyes narrowing as Ki began coursing violently through his arm.

Without hesitation, he bolted toward the demon that was already focusing on him. The creature’s movements were erratic, primal, yet calculated—it dashed forth with astonishing speed.

‘Crap!’ Finral thought, his heart skipping a beat as the demon appeared in front of him in the blink of an eye, claws slashing upward from below.

Clang!

Steel and claws clashed in a fiery spark. Liam had appeared just in time, his blade trembling under the weight of the impact. Cracks spread across his weapon as his feet slid backward, carving small trenches in the ground.

“Attack it now!” Liam roared, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.

Snapping out of his daze, Finral shot forward and delivered a powerful uppercut, his Ki bursting from his fist as it slammed into the demon’s jaw. The blow lifted its head violently and sent it tumbling a few meters back.

Jared seized the moment. He gritted his teeth, grabbed his sword, and with Ki surging through his legs, dashed forward toward the demon’s exposed back. But the creature reacted, spinning around in a blur to dodge.

Unfortunately for it, Finral was prepared. His palms were already open, Ki swirling between them, and then…

CLAP!

BOOM!

A massive shockwave burst outward, slamming into the demon’s back and launching it straight toward Jared’s path.

TCHWK!

Jared’s sword plunged deep into the demon’s abdomen, piercing through flesh and bone as blood gushed out. The monster shrieked in pain, still clinging to life, its body twitching violently.

But Liam wasn’t done. Above them, he came crashing down from the air, his blade glowing faintly with Ki. Before the demon could recover from Finral’s attack, Liam swung horizontally with a roar, his blade cutting clean through its neck.

The demon’s head fell with a loud thud, followed by its body collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

The trio landed with heavy breaths, faces slick with sweat as they surveyed the chaos around them.

“Just two demons? That’s how many we killed?” Finral muttered, frowning deeply as his gaze swept across the battlefield. The instructors were cutting through waves of demons with deadly precision.

The direct descendants and Grey were pure destruction in motion, their power shaking the ground. Even the blue band student—Pink was bulldozing through demons like they were made of paper.

“We may not be taking them down as fast, but at least it’s safer this way. Nobody gets hurt if we stick together,” Jared said, eyes narrowing as he scanned for movement.

Their moment of breath didn’t last. Another demon spotted them and immediately charged forward, claws gleaming with bloodlust.

“Fine then,” Jared muttered, gripping his sword tighter.

That was what Mada said too, now standing alongside Ray. Both of them were surrounded by two demons each, meaning it was time to fight one on one.

“Ack!” Ray groaned as a claw strike landed hard against his gauntlet, forcing him to skid backward. He gritted his teeth and managed to regain his footing just in time to see the demon appear directly in front of him in a split second.

Quickly taking charge, Ray pivoted to the side, narrowly avoiding its savage swing. He then sprinted forward, Ki coursing through his legs like a raging current. He swung a direct fist toward the demon, but it tilted its head slightly to the side, narrowly dodging the blow.

However, it didn’t get the chance to counterattack before Ray’s leg smashed right into its own, causing it to stumble backward. Without wasting a second, Ray slammed his palm into its face, snapping its head back for a brief moment.

But before he could follow up, the demon swung its head forward again with frightening speed.

Ray didn’t even get the chance to raise a defense before the demon’s horns slammed into his forehead with brutal force. The impact was so strong that blood gushed out almost instantly, trickling down his face.

His vision blurred, and he staggered backward, falling to his knees as pain throbbed violently through his skull.

‘Damn it! How can a demon give a Stage 3 Warrior like me so much trouble? What the hell is going on?’ Ray thought bitterly, wiping blood from his eyes as he watched the demon charge toward him at full speed.

“Fuck it!” he roared as he pushed himself off the ground just in time. The demon came crashing down with a double-handed claw strike that split the air.

Ray rolled aside right on cue as a massive cloud of dust and debris erupted, cloaking the battlefield in a thick haze.

He quickly rubbed his bleeding head with his gauntlets, then charged them with Ki. Sparks crackled around his fists as he sprinted straight into the dust cloud.

Before the demon could even react, arcs of lightning burst out from Ray’s gauntlet as he grabbed the demon by the neck, the electricity surging through its body and stunning it in place.

The jolts were intense, almost unbearable, but Ray didn’t care. With a fierce growl, he twisted his arm and landed a powerful uppercut straight into the demon’s jaw. The strike connected with a satisfying crack, sending the creature flying across the clearing with its jaw fractured and smoking from the electric surge.
