Chapter 593: Another Threat!

Chapter 593

Meanwhile, down below and away from the stands, Rivock could be seen surrounded by ten demons, each ready to tear him apart. The direct descendant simply gripped his dual Ki swords tightly.

“You know, you all aren’t as scary as you look.” He coldly grinned, his eyes glinting with battle lust.

Hearing the taunt, the demons charged forward angrily, and so did Rivock. In an instant, he swirled Ki around his feet, and with a loud bang, he shot towards the incoming horde, leaving a long trail of dust in his wake.

“I know that my Ki is low because I fought against Grey with almost everything I’ve got,” he muttered as he and the demons clashed within a split second.

Claws shot toward him with frightening speed, but his swords came up just in time, blocking the claws with a loud metallic ring that sent a tremor through the air as a cloud of dust was kicked up.

“But I’m still strong enough to pulverize you all!” he shouted, clicking his tongue. Almost immediately, a loud boom rang out as the ground beneath him erupted violently, shattering completely and creating a deep crater where they once stood.

When the dust finally settled, Rivock stood alone, his shirt torn to bits with only a few pieces clinging stubbornly to his bare frame. His hard rock abs and toned muscles glistened faintly under the dim light.

Out of the ten demons that had charged at him, only five remained, each severely injured from the explosion. Yet, they didn’t let that deter them. Growling in rage, they still dashed toward him, eyes burning with fury.

“Come on, let’s dance.” He grinned devilishly as the last remnants of his shredded shirt slid off his body. In the next instant, he bolted forward like a blur, cutting through the distance effortlessly.

Swiveling to the side, he narrowly avoided claw strikes aimed at his arms. Before he could even catch his breath, two of the demons blurred toward him, moving in perfect sync. Instead of using their claws, they thrust their sharp horns forward with incredible force.

Rivock, too focused on the ones ahead, didn’t notice in time. The horns struck his bare back with full power, but instead of piercing through, they only drove two inches deep.

“Huh? Are there mosquitoes around here?” Rivock muttered with a wide grin spreading across his face.

Without hesitation, he smashed a powerful kick into one of the demons before spinning sharply, his sword raised high. The blade connected cleanly with both demons’ horns, slicing through them in one fluid motion.

With a huge blast, both demons’ heads were severed, their bodies falling limp before he kicked off the ground again, blessing the remaining demons with a Ki-infused kick each that sent them hurling backward like broken dolls.

In midair, the demons suddenly exploded with a thunderous boom, their remains scattering across the cracked battlefield. Rivock’s eyes flickered sharply as he sensed movement.

He immediately spun around, just in time to block a claw strike with his remaining sword. The clash produced a reverberating boom so strong that the ground beneath them quaked violently.

Glancing sideways, he caught sight of another demon trying to sneak up behind him. Without thinking twice, he hurled his sword with blinding speed. It sliced through the air with a piercing whistle before smashing straight into the demon’s head, splitting it open cleanly.

Clenching his fist tightly around the broken remains of the Ki sword in his other hand, Rivock twisted his body and slammed a powerful, Ki-infused punch straight into the last demon’s face, blasting it away with brutal force.

The explosion’s echo reached far across the battlefield, drawing the attention of the lower Echelon. It turned sharply, its piercing eyes locking onto Rivock’s position. A frown crept across its sinister face.

‘Huh? How many strong individuals are here? Who is this young one? He’s too young to be one of the human powerhouses. Both he and that other one have become a threat. I must eliminate them… but first, I’ll study them all.’ The Echelon’s expression darkened as its thoughts deepened.

While still battling the demons in front of him, Rivock tilted his head slightly toward the Echelon that was watching him. A wide, taunting grin crept onto his face.

“Don’t worry, it will soon be your turn.” He muttered, and then…

BAM!

He smashed his toes straight into the maw of one of the demons, tearing a gaping hole through its head and sending its entire body flying backward before it crashed into the rubble with a dull thud.

__

Instructor Kent, on the other hand, was now surrounded by five demons, each one snarling viciously as they prepared to finish him off as quickly as possible. Without hesitation, they dashed forward at full speed, claws slashing through the air with deadly intent.

The instructor didn’t flinch. His gaze hardened as he lifted his empty hand, which now glowed with swirling yellow energy. In a flash, a Ki gauntlet formed around it, glowing faintly like molten metal.

Right on cue, one of the demons appeared before him, and with brutal precision, he swung his gauntleted fist straight into its head. The punch drove through the demon’s skull with so much force that it was lifted clean off its feet and blasted backward, crashing into a pile of debris.

“Next.” He called out flatly, a deep frown marking his face as the remaining four demons screeched and lunged forward, their claws slicing through the air at blinding speed.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The sound of steel clashing against claws filled the area as the instructor pushed himself beyond his limits. His movements were sharp, precise, and fueled purely by instinct and experience.

Moving from one side to another, he barely managed to dodge a claw strike that grazed past his face, drawing a thin line of blood. The sting only fueled his focus further.

Before he could reposition, a vicious kick slammed into his abdomen, forcing the air out of his lungs as he was pushed backward, his heels carving deep trenches in the ground. Another demon tried to take advantage, sneaking up behind him.

But Kent was faster. He spun sharply, palm wide open, and then—

BAM!

A bright beam of Ki burst out of his hand, slamming into the demon’s head and bursting a clean, smoking hole through it. The creature’s body went limp as it crashed to the floor with a heavy thud.

Without wasting time, he turned toward the three remaining demons now closing in on him. One swung its claw with deadly speed, nearly smashing into his face. Kent twisted his body aside, letting the attack tear into his shoulder.

He didn’t care. Ignoring the pain, he gritted his teeth and countered immediately. His sword slashed outward with brutal strength, slicing off the demon’s limb in one swift motion.

Channeling all his remaining energy, he swung his sword again with every ounce of power left in him. Ki surged along the blade, and a sharp crescent of energy burst forward, crashing into the trio of demons. The blast decapitated them instantly, the sheer force gouging out the ground beneath their feet.

Huff. Huff. Huff.

“I hope the students are all okay.” He panted heavily, his chest rising and falling rapidly as exhaustion began to weigh on him. But before he could even catch his breath, more demons emerged from the distance, their eyes glowing faintly as they charged straight toward him with renewed fury.
