Magus Supremacy - Chapter 590
Chapter 590: Come get a piece of me!
Chapter 590
This was the first time in a while that Sera was going full force from the get-go. She had never been seen fighting before, and for the first time in ages, she was showing the demons why she was an elite instructor.
BAM!
A claw strike to her neck almost connected, but her sword snapped up in its path, blocking it cleanly. She was about to be sent skidding, but with Ki encasing her feet, she leaped up, shattering the ground beneath her and smashing an uppercut kick straight into the demon’s chin.
Without losing a beat, she flipped backward and slammed her heel into another demon that was trying to sneak up on her. The impact released a gust of wind that cracked the ground outwardly, sending dust and blood flying.
Though the demon wasn’t dead, she immediately leaped toward another one. Her eyes widened as a pair of claws streaked toward her face, forcing her to spin on her heel to avoid it.
But demons were naturally fast. The claws grazed her arm, slicing through her shirt and tearing five inches deep, causing a gush of blood to spurt out.
She didn’t let that stop her. Gritting her teeth, she grabbed the demon’s claw lodged in her arm and, coating her leg with Ki, swung it in a perfect roundhouse kick that smashed into the demon’s neck, flinging it away violently.
She landed with a huff, her eyes scanning the chaos around her.
‘Damn it! Their numbers are overwhelming. Why did they have to attack when all the leaders are absent? This is bad. To deal with a lower echelon, we need strength on par with at least a vice clan master.’
RINNNNG!
Her sword clashed with another claw. She parried it, swinging aside with precision. Luckily, her counter didn’t cost her much strength, or her wrist might have shattered.
The demon lunged again, but as if reading its intent, Sera swung her sword upward in a vertical slash. Almost instantly, a massive wave of Ki erupted from her blade. The attack struck the demon, splitting it in two with a booming crack that echoed through the coliseum.
‘Oh! Pure physical strength doesn’t take them down, but overwhelming Ki attacks can. That’s why Rivock’s Ki explosion from earlier killed some of them.’ She thought quickly, scanning her surroundings. She then decided to sprint toward the normal civilians, who were still screaming and scrambling to escape.
Meanwhile, Rivock had shifted into a dual-sword stance. Two Ki blades glowed fiercely in his hands, Ki swirling around his feet as he streaked from one demon to another, cutting through them like a storm.
“According to Dad,” Rivock muttered as he leaned backward, avoiding a swing aimed at his neck that sliced through the air with a loud swoosh.
Still leaning back, his foot shot upward, smashing into the groin of the demon in front of him. It staggered backward, letting out a guttural growl. Without wasting a moment, Rivock surged forward, his Ki sword cutting cleanly through the space beside its neck, sending its head rolling to the ground with a thud.
“Ki attacks are effective against you all,” he said with a wide grin.
A loud shriek erupted behind him, and Rivock spun around instantly—just in time to see a massive foot flying his way. Before he could react, it slammed into him with bone-crushing force, lifting him off the ground and hurling him across the battlefield.
Before he could be sent flying too far, Rivock stabbed both Ki swords into the ground, carving two long grooves as he came to a sliding halt. Sparks and dust scattered around him.
“Damn it,” he coughed, spitting out blood as he rose to his feet. Around him, ten demons had encircled him, their eyes burning with malice, ready to pounce.
“You want a piece of me? Come get it!” he roared. Clashing his swords together, he unleashed a surge of Ki so strong that it vibrated through the air. Then, swinging both blades in perfect unison, he released one enormous slash of energy. As it sped toward the demons, the ground split open, carving deep trenches through the battlefield.
The slash spun with insane speed, tearing through the air like a raging tempest, and was about to crash into the demons. But in an instant, they darted aside, their movements sharp and fluid, causing the Ki slash to hit nothing but the empty space where they once stood. It slammed into the ground with a violent crack, carving a thick, burning trench across the coliseum floor and scattering chunks of stone and dust into the air.
The demons hissed but didn’t stop, and neither did Rivock. He steadied his breathing, Ki swirling and condensing at the soles of his feet. Then, with a silent but thunderous bang, he vanished.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared directly in front of one of the demons, his twin Ki swords gleaming like molten silver.
“You know,” he said coldly, a grin stretching across his face, “you all aren’t as scary as you look.”
He launched himself forward again, his movements blurring into streaks of blue light as he clashed with the demon head-on. __
BANG!
If anyone could move faster than thought itself, that person was Grey. His speed wasn’t just incredible—it defied reason. In a single breath, he had already closed the distance between himself and the charging demons.
SWOOOSH!
A claw streaked toward him, cutting through the air with deadly precision, but to Grey, it was as if time had slowed to a crawl. His pendant flashed, and his sword materialized in his hand. Without losing rhythm, he swung it diagonally, slicing the claw clean off with a sharp metallic hiss.
Before the demon could even register the pain, Grey’s foot connected with its face. The impact cracked bone, sending the creature flying several meters backward before it crashed to the ground.
The rest of the demons lunged, surrounding him in a blur of black and red, but Grey didn’t panic. He pivoted to the side, dodging a vertical strike aimed at his skull, and prepared to counterattack.
Before he could, another demon tried to sneak up behind him—but Grey’s heightened sense of auras betrayed its presence. He twisted slightly, raised his empty hand, and conjured a lightning arrow that shot backward with a deafening crack. It pierced the demon’s throat, leaving sparks crackling around the wound.
In one smooth motion, he pulled another lightning arrow into existence, hurled it forward, and drove it straight into another demon’s skull. Both creatures collapsed at once, their bodies twitching as the smell of burnt flesh filled the air.
“Demons, huh?” Grey muttered, a dark glint flashing in his eyes as he dashed forward again, his body blurring from sight.
He leaned backward to avoid another claw swipe, then thrust upward, his foot smashing into a demon’s jaw with a lightning-charged kick that sent it spiraling into the air.
With a snap of his fingers, a dozen wind swords materialized and shot forward in perfect synchronization. They impaled the demons midair—neck, head, and chest—before slamming them into the ground with a thunderous thud.
Grey exhaled calmly, flicking his wrist as sparks danced around his body.
“More like lemons,” he said coolly, eyes glinting with lethal confidence.
