Magus Supremacy - Chapter 584
Chapter 584: Magic VS KI!
Chapter 584
‘Wait a moment! Is this the terrorist I’m supposed to come take down?!’ Albed roared internally, shock written all over her face. ‘He… he’s a freaking monster! What kind of abilities is he even using?! How the hell am I supposed to put down someone who moves like literal lightning?! I’m just a Stage 4 warrior, damn it!’
‘I wonder if Dad knows the kind of abilities Grey actually wields,’ Finral thought with a deep frown as he watched the battle rage on. ‘What does this even mean for us? More chaos? More trouble? Because honestly, this idiot is a walking trouble magnet.’
‘Yooo!’ Liam screamed inwardly, his single eye widening in disbelief. ‘How the hell can Grey use abilities like this?! Who even is he?!’
‘Hmph. Interesting,’ Sera thought, still seated in the same spot where the leaders had gathered earlier. A faint glint flickered in her eyes.
“You can get angry? Wow! That’s new. I never thought the great and powerful Rivock would lose his temper so easily,” Grey taunted with a grin plastered across his bloodied face.
“Kek, kek, kek!” Rivock chuckled darkly, his laughter echoing through the ruined platform as he clutched his abdomen in amusement. “Remember the beast we all fought together?”
“Huh?” Grey muttered, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
“Yeah, that was the first time in a while I actually got serious,” Rivock said, his grin widening. “But do you know what? I wasn’t even angry at that time.”
His expression twisted, killing intent flooding his aura. “But right now, I’m more than pissed, and I want to — no, I will kill you right here.”
He bolted forward, his footsteps thundering like drums as the ground cracked beneath him.
“I’m flattered that everybody wants to kill me,” Grey chuckled though it came out strained and low — right as the direct descendant appeared in front of him. Rivock’s fist shot forward at full speed.
All the Supreme Magus could do was lift his arms to guard his face and brace himself. The punch smashed into him with guttural force, almost lifting him off his feet.
Wind howled violently around him as he was blown backward into the air. Blood sprayed from his lips as he stabilized himself a few meters away from Rivock, lightning faintly crackling over his arms.
“Come back down here!” Rivock roared, crouching low before launching himself into the air with incredible force. In a flash, he swung his foot in a perfect roundhouse kick aimed at Grey’s head.
But Grey reacted fast — too fast. He kicked off the air, leaping backward a full meter just in time to avoid the strike. The kick whistled past him and slammed into nothing but air, creating a loud sonic boom.
Grey clapped his hands together sharply, and a powerful burst of wind surged forward, a compressed blast that screamed toward Rivock. The direct descendant barely had time to cross his arms over his face.
The attack struck head-on, but it failed to draw blood or even move him an inch. His entire body gleamed faintly — coated completely in Ki.
BANG!
That was the sound Rivock heard before lowering his guard only to see Grey already right in front of him, a deep frown etched across his face. Without hesitation, Grey threw a punch infused with lightning and Ki, slamming it directly into Rivock’s abdomen.
The ground beneath them shattered instantly as saliva shot from Rivock’s mouth, yet he didn’t flinch. He tanked the blow as if it was nothing, shocking Grey for a split second.
That split second was all Rivock needed.
He lunged forward and hammered his head directly into Grey’s face with brutal force. The crack echoed loud and clear as Grey staggered backward, blood trickling down his nose and lip, his expression twisting with fury.
Without wasting a single second, Rivock leaped high into the air, spun around a few times mid-flight, and smashed a brutal kick straight into Grey’s abdomen, lifting him off his feet and flinging him backward like a ragdoll.
Hurtling several meters away, Grey reacted fast. He slammed both hands into the air, wind instantly howling around him as his control over the element kicked in.
The powerful gust slowed his momentum, bringing his whole weight to a stop midair, though not without consequence. He stumbled hard to his knees, coughing out blood as pain seared through his chest.
Before he could even regain his composure, Rivock was already there — a blur of golden Ki appearing directly in front of him with a savage swing aimed at his face, a glowing Ki sword gripped tightly in hand.
Grey’s instincts screamed. With every ounce of strength he had left, he slammed his palms into the ground, and a violent burst of wind exploded beneath him.
He shot into the air, flipping forward gracefully, landing two feet behind Rivock just in time as the descendant’s sword cleaved through nothing but air with a deafening bang.
But Rivock wasn’t done. Without missing a beat, he twisted his wrist sharply, swinging the sword backward in a sudden reverse strike toward Grey. Yet the Supreme Magus was faster. Lightning began crackling around his arm in rapid bursts, and within a split second, a lightning-forged sword materialized in his grasp.
BOOOM!
The clash was deafening. Another shockwave tore through the air, rattling the bones of those watching below. The sheer pressure forced the spectators a step back as the ground beneath the dueling titans shattered completely.
‘Huh?! He should be flying by now! How the hell is he holding his own against me?!’ Rivock thought in pure frustration, veins bulging along his arms as he tightened his grip on the sword.
Grey, breathing heavily, smirked through the pain. ‘My magic is currently stronger than my Ki,’ he thought, eyes gleaming with intensity. ‘So I’m using Ki to enhance my physical strength while using magic for my offense. And besides, I learned from the best teacher — always wait for an opportunity, an opening.’
With rage boiling through his veins, Rivock gathered every drop of Ki in his body and funneled it to his foot.
The limb began to glow fiercely as he sent it streaking toward Grey’s abdomen with bone-crushing force. The sheer power split the air itself, creating a thunderous ripple that made the atmosphere quake.
‘If I can create weapons with magic… then I can do this too!’ Grey roared inwardly. Acting purely on instinct, lightning burst around his foot, condensing rapidly into a glowing form — a pair of blazing lightning boots crackled to life. He swung his leg forward in retaliation.
BANG!
BOOOM!
The resulting impact shook the heavens. The entire platform trembled violently as shockwaves blasted outward. When the light and dust cleared, a single cracking sound echoed. The clear victor was revealed.
Grey’s body was sent flying backward with unstoppable momentum. He slammed hard into the platform, the stone fracturing beneath him as deep cracks spread out like spiderwebs. Blood splattered from his lips as the air trembled around the aftermath of the collision.
