Chapter 583: Hate Losing!

Chapter 583

‘H…he is the one!’ Albed thundered inwardly as she clenched her hands in anger while glaring at Grey. ‘The red hair… he’s the terrorist I was sent to take down!’

‘Hmm. I hope you know what you’re doing, Grey,’ Thalos thought, then decided to ignore everything as he sat cross-legged, trying to recover his energy for some reason.

Meanwhile, Grey stood in front of Rivock, his red hair fluttering wildly in the wind. His finger pointed straight ahead, lightning sparks flashing from its tip.

Rivock had both palms held out, a glowing yellow Ki beam forming between them as he glared murderously at the Supreme Magus.

“No, I won’t take you down so easily.” Grey smirked as he twirled his fingers, and in the very next instant, he shot forward like a blur — so fast that the crowd couldn’t even track his movement.

In a heartbeat, he was right in front of Rivock with lightning crackling fiercely around his fists. Without wasting a single moment, he swung at the direct descendant. Rivock barely had time to react as he withdrew his hand and threw both palms in front of him.

BAM!

BANG!

A loud, deafening bang echoed across the coliseum, shaking the air itself. The impact was so violent that everyone’s ears rang from the sound, and in the next moment, Rivock was sent skidding ten feet backward, his arms numb and trembling from pain.

Grey’s sword vanished into his storage pendant, and without losing a beat, Ki and lightning swirled around his feet. If people thought he was fast before, they were wrong — his speed now doubled, turning him into a literal lightning bolt tearing across the platform.

‘What’s going on? What is this strange ability he’s using?’ Rivock thought in disbelief, all he could see was a faint blur approaching him at impossible speed.

BAM!

A huge cloud of dust exploded as Grey slammed into the ground where Rivock had just been standing. The direct descendant barely evaded in time, his boots skidding across the fractured floor.

“Damn it! Was he always this strong?” Ray muttered in shock, barely believing his eyes.

“No,” Finral replied, his jaw practically dropping at the scene before him. ‘He definitely never had these strange abilities before. Since when did he gain them?!’

“No use being stunned!” Rivock roared as he lunged straight into the swirling dust. His fist shot forward, moving like a blur, and crashed directly into Grey’s raised arms.

Bang!

The force sent Grey flying backward like a cannonball, his body hurtling through the air, mere inches from being thrown off the platform completely.

“He mustn’t fall off the platform!” Ray shouted as he pushed himself off the ground. With the last bit of strength left in his body, he leaped high, managing to get behind Grey just in time. Without hesitation, he slammed his shoulder into Grey’s back.

The collision redirected Grey forward but sent Ray flying off the platform instead, disqualifying him from the segment. Only Finral, Liam, Thalos, Grey, and Rivock remained standing.

“Ack!” Grey nearly crashed face-first into the ground, but instinct took over as wind magic surged to life beneath his feet, halting his momentum just in time.

Before he could steady himself, Rivock appeared once more — moving like a phantom blur barely a few inches away.

Grey reacted instantly, thrusting both palms forward. “Aerius Ultra,” he muttered under his breath.

HOWL!

BAM!

A massive gust of wind erupted violently from his palms, slamming straight into Rivock’s abdomen with such devastating force that spit burst out of his mouth as his entire body was sent hurtling backward like a broken ragdoll.

The crowd could only watch in stunned silence as the shockwave rippled across the arena.

“Won’t let you go,” Grey mumbled, and in no time, lightning crackled around his feet. Like a bolt of pure lightning, he shot forward, cutting through the air in a flash of blue-white arcs.

Instantly appearing in front of the hurtling Rivock, Grey didn’t waste a second. He hammered a powerful punch straight into the descendant’s gut. But contrary to what he thought, Rivock didn’t go flying away.

Instead, Rivock slammed his foot into the ground, dragging his body to a halt. His boots carved deep grooves into the shattered floor, and without missing a beat, he swung his head forward, almost slamming it into Grey. But before he could, the Supreme Magus spun, his leg slicing through the air in a vicious roundhouse kick.

The direct descendant reacted in time, spinning around and crossing his arms to block. The impact thundered, and Rivock pushed his hands apart, throwing Grey’s leg off balance while unleashing a gust of wind that slammed into the Supreme Magus, sending him skidding several inches backward. Dust swirled around them as their auras clashed violently.

“You will pay for ever crossing my path!” Rivock roared as he dashed forward. Ki swirled wildly around his hands, shining with a fierce golden light, and then…

BAM!

BOOOM!

The punch struck squarely on Grey’s abdomen with so much force that his eyes widened in shock. Blood sprayed from his mouth in sharp coughs as the ground beneath him cracked, and his body slammed into it with brutal impact, shattering the surface entirely.

That wasn’t all. A shockwave erupted outward, tearing through the air and blowing massive debris off the platform. Rocks and dust scattered in every direction as the onlookers shielded their faces from the blast.

‘That was powerful,’ Thalos thought as his eyes snapped open from his cross-legged position. ‘It’s like he’s slowly stopping from holding back. Earlier, when we fought, he was just toying with me. But all of a sudden, it looks like he’s taking Grey seriously. Why now?’

Rivock gritted his teeth, golden Ki swirling fiercely around his foot. ‘I need to go harder, otherwise I might end up like Mada and Noelle. I don’t know what kind of strange ability this guy has, but I can’t afford to lose. Not again. Because…’

“I hate losing!” he roared, swinging his foot straight at Grey’s face with full speed and power. A loud bang echoed out, shaking the arena.

But the next moment…

CRACKLE!

That sound filled the air. In that instant, Grey’s eyes snapped open, glowing like storm clouds. And before Rivock’s foot could connect, Grey’s body flickered.

Lightning burst across his frame as he pushed himself aside just in time, leaving behind a smoking afterimage. Rivock’s foot crashed down where Grey had lain just moments ago, completely obliterating the spot in a thunderous blast.

Sparks still danced across Grey’s shoulders as he rose slowly, his gaze cold and unwavering.
