Chapter 569: Who’s next for a beat down?

Chapter 569

“Gotcha.” Finral muttered with a dark glint in his eyes as he appeared right in front of the direct descendant, his sword already mere inches away from her throat.

CLANG!

That was the only sound that followed as Finral’s sword slammed into Noelle’s neck but didn’t even draw a trickle of blood. The blade simply slid off her skin as if it had hit solid steel.

“What the?!”

BAM!

Noelle’s foot shot out instantly, smashing straight into his abdomen with crushing force. His eyes widened as saliva burst from his mouth before he skidded several inches backward and dropped to one knee, clutching his stomach in pain.

“The difference between us is that my Ki is much more advanced than you peasants!” Noelle’s voice rang out with pride, her eyes flashing coldly. “I can coat my entire body with Ki, therefore blocking any lethal attempts from you all.”

She gave a small smirk as her gaze swept across the four students standing together, determination evident on their faces.

“Aside from the fact that I want to beat the shit out of you all for being friends with Grey,” she continued with venom in her tone, “I also want to make you lot eat your words for calling me the weakest out of all the direct descendants.”

Ki began swirling around her feet like a raging storm, and before anyone could react, she bolted forward almost like a blur, the ground cracking under her takeoff.

‘Guess I’ll have to beat speed with speed,’ Ray thought sharply, his eyes narrowing. ‘Grey said this pill will boost our speed beyond our current stage, which means I should gain speed on par with her.’

Without wasting another second, he used his tongue to fish out a small pill hidden under his mouth and swallowed it in one swift motion.

It didn’t even take a second for the effects to kick in. Energy surged through his limbs, his Ki flaring violently as his veins pulsed with raw power. Without hesitation, Ray bolted forward like a flash of lightning, and in the blink of an eye, he met Noelle dead in the center.

“What the…?!”

“Peekaboo.” Ray muttered with a cocky grin as he swung his fist forward, Ki swirling thickly around his arm.

Noelle reacted just in time, bringing her whip up to guard her face, but the punch still landed with a deafening crack. The sheer force of it sent her skidding several feet backward, her boots grinding against the ground.

“We’ll make sure we take you down!” Jared’s voice shouted from the side as his sword streaked through the air toward her like a flash of silver.

Seeing this, Noelle jumped back, narrowly avoiding the swing, before immediately ducking low to evade another strike that came from behind. Without even turning, she spun her body and smashed a kick straight into Liam’s abdomen.

“Like damn it! There are other people’s stomachs to slam into, why mine?!” Liam shouted as he went tumbling backward in pain, blood trickling from his lips.

Noelle spun on her heel and cracked her whip forward just in time to clash with Finral’s sword. A reverberating ring echoed out as dust exploded around them.

Then Finral suddenly did something unexpected. Ki swirled around his feet, and the next second, he leaped high into the air, causing Noelle’s attention to follow him instinctively.

Out of nowhere, Ray appeared again, shooting forward with his enhanced speed like a bullet.

BAM!

A powerful punch slammed into the distracted Noelle’s gut, her eyes widening in shock as the air was forced out of her lungs. Her body lifted off the ground before being hurled backward with immense force, crashing into the cracked floor with a thunderous impact.

The ground trembled violently as the others stood firm, ready to press the advantage.

She went tumbling backward, rolling across the cracked ground as dust rose in small clouds. Not wanting to waste time, Ray bolted toward her like lightning, his figure a blur as he appeared behind her in an instant before swinging his foot forward, aiming to crush her in the back.

Feeling the sudden shift in the air behind her, Noelle didn’t hesitate. She swung her whip backward with precision, and it instantly curled around Ray’s foot.

With all her strength, she yanked it forward, dragging him off balance and slamming him violently into the ground. The impact was brutal, the earth beneath his body splitting apart with a deep crack.

“Urgh!” Ray groaned in pain as the ground beneath him trembled slightly.

Noelle swirled Ki around her fingers and dug them into the ground, bringing her body to a sliding halt. The moment her movement stopped, her sharp eyes caught Finral closing in directly ahead of her with his sword rising from below in a vicious arc.

Reacting quickly, Noelle channeled Ki around her arms and raised them in front of her face just as the sword struck true. Sparks scattered as steel met flesh. The blade managed to cut an inch deep into her forearm, drawing a trickle of blood that dripped slowly down her skin.

Before she even had the chance to react or counter, Jared was already airborne directly above her, his sword raised high over his head, ready to bring it down.

‘Crap!’ she thought, her pupils narrowing. Without a second to waste, she rolled aside just as the sword came crashing down.

BAM!

The attack struck the ground with such force that a loud explosion of dust and debris erupted around them.

Using her enhanced speed, Noelle zipped forward through the dust cloud, her silhouette barely visible. Without hesitation, she smashed a powerful punch straight into Jared’s side.

CRACK!

The sound was sharp and clean as blood sprayed from his mouth. His body was lifted clean off the ground and sent flying several meters, crashing violently across the floor. Each time his body bounced, deep fissures tore through the battlefield like spiderwebs.

“Yeah boy! That’s how it feels to receive a hit in your abdomen or side!” Liam cheered loudly, pumping a fist in the air, clearly forgetting the tension of the fight for a brief moment.

Ray and Finral both turned to glare at him in disbelief and confusion.

“What?” Liam asked innocently, shrugging. “I was sick and tired of being the only one getting slammed in the stomach! Maybe she just doesn’t ever want me to digest my food again!”

“Just shut up!” Finral snapped angrily, his patience running thin.

That small lapse in focus was all Noelle needed. In the blink of an eye, she zipped forward, her movements so fast she left faint afterimages behind.

Before Finral could even process what was happening, she appeared directly in front of him, her fist streaking toward his face at full speed.

“Crap!” he muttered under his breath as the air pressure shifted violently. He tried to react, swinging his sword up at the last moment to block, but it was already too late.

BANG!

CRACK!

Noelle’s Ki-infused fist smashed against his blade with immense force. The sword cracked almost immediately, the metal fracturing under the sheer pressure.

The recoil bent Finral’s hands backward painfully, forcing the sword’s hilt up and its blade down into his own face. The impact sent him flying backward like a ragdoll, crashing into the ground several feet away.

“Shit!” Ray cursed, rising slowly from the crater where he had been slammed earlier, a trickle of blood running down his foot and staining the dirt beneath him.

‘I thought Grey was being considerate when he gave us the weakest opponent out of the trio,’ he thought bitterly, clenching his fists.

‘But who the hell knew she was this strong? I thought she was weak during the Corrupted Beast mission at the portal break—she barely did anything back then except provide support. But look at her now, wrecking us like broken toys. Damn it… what do I do now?’

Noelle casually lifted her whip from the ground, the weapon slithering like a living snake as it straightened. Her expression hardened, a dangerous glint flashing in her eyes.

“Who’s next for a beatdown?!” she asked coldly, her voice echoing across the battlefield.
