Chapter 339: END

Evil D’andre was too slow to react as Rowan moved at an insane speed, vanishing like a ghost and reappearing behind him as if he had teleported.

A cold, sharp voice slid into his ear.

He tried to dodge, but it was already too late. Rowan’s blade came crashing down at his back with unimaginable force.

The explosive sound of something fast and deadly colliding with flesh echoed through the lair, followed by the sight of a body being hurled like a rag doll.

Rowan vanished from where he stood and darted after the airborne evil D’andre.

Seeing this change, D’andre finally grasped what his friend had been hinting at. A wild grin spread across his face.

He summoned several magic circles above him, each firing off powerful light magic orbs in rapid succession.

At the same time, he materialized a glowing light sword in his hands and shot forward toward evil Rowan, who was still adjusting to the chaos unfolding around him.

“You might be the evil version of that guy,” D’andre sneered, “but you lack his quick problem-solving ability.”

Arriving in front of evil Rowan, he swung his blade with fierce precision.

Evil Rowan gritted his teeth, clearly agitated by both the attack and the harsh but truthful words. He lifted the Soul Harvester and swung back.

A thunderous shockwave tore through the lair as the two weapons collided. Any human standing nearby would have been thrown like debris—or even sliced apart by the sheer force of it.

“You stupid humans!” Evil Rowan snarled, his rage boiling over.

He fought back with everything he had, evading spells snapping at him from every angle, while striking out at D’andre with murderous intent.

Meanwhile, Rowan caught up to his opponent just before the demon’s body collided with the crystalline wall. He gripped his sword tightly and delivered a clean, devastating downward slash.

BOOM!

The strike landed perfectly, smashing the already-flying evil D’andre into the ground and leaving a crater where it fell.

Rowan didn’t stop. He wouldn’t—not until this demon was dead.

But the demon wasn’t going to let itself be killed so easily.

Before Rowan could deliver another attack, evil D’andre created a dense, shimmering light-armor around its body.

It saved him from one strike—but only barely—shattering instantly under the weight of Rowan’s next blow.

“Unless you have unlimited mana to keep conjuring armors, there’s no way you can survive against me!” Rowan growled, landing another slash just as the demon tried to create another shield.

Evil D’andre gritted his teeth. Three armors already shattered—there was no winning this. It fled.

But Rowan was right behind, refusing to give it a single breath to recover.

On the other side of the lair, D’andre and evil Rowan were locked in an intense sword clash.

Shockwaves blasted outward with every exchange, leaving dents and gouges in the crystalline crimson walls.

The crimson sun above them burned, but even its light couldn’t disperse the heavy darkness of war.

Minutes bled into hours. After three relentless hours, evil D’andre finally ran out of energy to maintain its spells.

It bolted, fleeing from the human who had cornered it.

‘Damn it!’ it cursed inwardly. ‘To think I’d die in the hands of a human!’

It ran with everything it had, deeper into the demon lair, desperate to escape its impending death.

It risked a glance back, but saw no one behind. Apart from D’andre and evil Rowan locked in combat, there was no other soul in sight.

Its heart dropped.

It snapped its head forward—and froze.

Rowan stood only inches away, grinning victoriously.

A sudden, hot, electric pain blossomed in its chest. Slowly tilting its head down, it saw the Soul Harvester perfectly buried into the core of its being—the demon core.

Before it could even cry out, blood streamed from its eyes, ears, and nose. Its vision went black as its life force drained at a terrifying rate.

In three seconds, it crumpled to the ground. Dead.

The Soul Harvester buzzed with power in Rowan’s hands, drinking in the essence of the slain doppelgänger.

The corpse melted, shifting from humanoid into a revolting, shapeless, human-sized amoeba.

Rowan turned away from the grotesque sight and fixed his eyes on the battle between D’andre and his evil counterpart.

I should assist, he thought.

Evil Rowan still held the fake Soul Harvester and Colt’s Demon-Slaying Dagger. Rowan needed that dagger.

With that thought, he dashed forward into the brawl.

When evil Rowan saw him, panic flashed in its eyes. It quickly realized its ally had been slain.

It fought even more desperately now, its life on the line.

But with two powerhouses before it, even armed with all of Rowan’s memories and battle strategies, it couldn’t hold out.

Minutes later, the fight ended as the Soul Harvester punched through its chest.

It collapsed, melting into the same revolting amoeba. The fake Soul Harvester dissolved into a red mist and vanished.

Beside its corpse, the Demon-Slaying Dagger lay bare.

Rowan grinned and stepped forward to claim it, only to stop when D’andre’s hand gripped his shoulder.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea to touch that dagger,” D’andre said calmly. “You saw how Colt became almost mindless with that weapon. You should avoid it.”

“I can manage,” Rowan replied. “Besides, I already have a stronger weapon. The dagger shouldn’t be much of a problem.”

If D’andre had known how Rowan had obtained the Soul Harvester, he would have been speechless.

Without hesitation, Rowan picked up the dagger.

Instantly, he felt a violent resistance, as though the weapon itself was trying to rip out of his grasp.

A frown appeared on Rowan’s face. The demon slayer strained against his grip with such force that, had Rowan been any weaker, it would have broken free by now.

It’s not trying to kill me… that means it can be subdued.
