Chapter 337: Sanosa (6/)

Morning arrived and the morning sun blossomed over Winterseed, where the soldiers were gathered at the borders.

“Dad, when are you returning?” A little girl tugged at her father’s legs and asked in an innocent, concerned voice.

“My little princess, Daddy will only be away for a short while. Do not worry, Daddy will bring lots of goodies for you,” the father responded.

Around them, other families could be seen waving off their sons and fathers.

They all looked concerned, but not worried.

Since Riela had instructed the soldiers to tell their families they were going on a simple, harmless adventure, the people only felt concerned that they would miss them while they were gone, and not that they might never see them again.

Women waved off their husbands and sons with smiles, handing them packed meals and advising them nonstop not to get into trouble and to return home quickly.

Children waved off their parents and siblings with innocent concerns.

Riela observed the activities with a gentle smile on her face. She wished Rowan were here with her, waving her off on her first-ever war—one she was actively commanding.

Dragun stood calmly beside her, watching with a proud smile. The little girl he had once taken into his home had grown into such a fierce woman. And now that fierce woman had also become his daughter-in-law.

The greetings lasted for some time before the villagers began returning to their homes.

After they had left, Riela gave the signal to begin their march outward.

With obedient nods, the march began.

The gallant steps of the soldiers thundered across the land, echoing within a small radius as they gradually advanced toward battle.

SANOSA VILLAGE

The army of the village, numbering over two thousand, marched along the vast path through the forest.

Banza and his brothers rode in front of the large army, their bodies releasing an intimidating aura as they led the march.

Their men were huge and strong.

The frontline was a mix of muscular combatants and battle mages adorned in mage robes.

Their presence was oppressive, their faces carrying the resolve of men ready to tear their enemies apart.

A few times, Banza glanced at his men and smiled happily.

“Winterseed will be conquered with ease,” he said, turning to his brothers.

“Of course. With an army as strong and skilled as ours, no territory under C-rank would be able to challenge us,” one of them responded.

“His woman and his land will be ours for the taking! I heard his wife is like an angel on earth, very beautiful and innocent. If I kill Rowan myself, will you let me take his wife?” the other asked.

Banza immediately erupted in laughter.

“You’re never changing, second brother. Still perverted, even in a new world. Anyway, I do not covet other men’s wives. I love them pure, with their V-cards intact. So, I’ll leave the decision of who gets his wife to you two.”

“Really?” The second brother’s eyes widened, lust and glee flashing within them.

“Of course. You know me, I never go back on my word.”

Hearing this, the second brother’s smile widened.

He turned to the other brother, who wore a calm, neutral expression. “Do you want in on his wife?”

“Nah, you can keep her.”

“Hehe…” the second brother laughed.

The army behind them remained silent, none daring to join the conversation even though they were interested.

They could only pray that the three brothers would leave some women behind for them at the end of the battle,at least to appease them for the endless months of training.

Unknowingly to the army, the very woman they coveted would be the one to vanquish them.

“D’andre, how would you like to become the male lead of Singing Roses?”

That was the last intelligible voice D’andre heard before everything around him suddenly became blurry and unclear.

His vision weakened, a sharp pang of headache gradually taking over his head.

His hearing and other senses dulled. The chatter of reporters and the flashes of cameras turned into nothing more than white noise in the background.

Was it happening? his mind raveled.

Had we finally broken the trap? he wondered as he gradually lost control of his body.

“Young man, can you hear us?”

The reporters around him noticed his strange actions and immediately reacted.

“What’s wrong? He doesn’t look okay!”

“Has he been poisoned by Roberto?”

“Somebody call 911!”

They swarmed him, holding him in place before he collapsed.

Theresa Monroe also grew very concerned. Forgetting her usual grace, she hurried toward him to check what was going on.

Nonetheless, while they all rushed to help him, D’andre’s soul gradually slipped away from his body.

Meanwhile…

Rowan sat in his luxurious living room.

Two beautiful maids stood at both sides of him, calm and polite smiles on their faces as they observed him.

The shimmering light from the expensive chandelier hanging above blessed the room with splendid illumination.

Bathed in that golden glow, Rowan carefully flipped through a photo album, a gentle expression on his face.

On one particular photo, a younger him could be seen standing between two adults who looked oddly familiar, yet at the same time, like strangers.

One was a middle-aged man with sleek black hair and a gentle smile, his hand resting on the head of young Rowan, who posed with a wide grin and a peace sign.

The other was a woman, alluring even in her thirties. She leaned her head lightly on young Rowan’s shoulder, smiling softly.

Rowan observed the picture again and again, his expression crumbling, his memories turning fuzzy.

“…I have parents?” he muttered in a low voice.

The man’s smile. The woman’s gentle eyes. They were his parents.

Yet strangely, he could not recall ever having parents.

On Earth, before transmigrating, he was an orphan with no records of his true family.

But here, in this photo, his parents were alive.

He turned to the maids, about to ask—

But before he could speak, the entire room began to warp, weaving in strange patterns.

The maids turned into white mist and disappeared.
