Chapter 476: Chapter 474: Final stage Initiated
While the others continued to argue and discuss the recent battle, Alexa quietly walked over to where Dayanara was sitting.
“You okay?” Alexa asked softly.
Dayanara blinked at the question, slightly confused, then gave a small smile. “I should be the one asking you that, Ms. Alexa.”
Alexa tilted her head. “I noticed you seem… troubled? Why is that?”
Dayanara’s eyes shifted away, as if trying to hide something, but then she sighed and glanced over her shoulder. Not far behind her, Kyla and two other guild members were resting with tired faces.
“I lost almost all of my guild members,” Dayanara said, her voice low. “If only I was strong enough—”
Before she could finish, Alexa stepped forward and placed her hands firmly on Dayanara’s shoulders, shaking her head.
“Don’t say that. They’re probably proud that your guild made it to this stage. I’m actually quite impressed.”
Dayanara gave a small laugh. “What makes you impressed with us?”
“Well,” Alexa began, “in the past few years, Philippine guilds have been joining quests and tournament, but it’s only now that one has made it this far. Dayanara, you’re making your country proud.”
Dayanara scratched her cheek, looking a little shy. “There are a lot of amazing people in my country… it’s just that some of them prefer to live peacefully.” She smiled faintly.
Alexa smirked. “You’re famous now. And probably because of you, those amazing people will stop hiding and show themselves.”
Dayanara opened her mouth to reply—
DING!
[Rest duration has ended.][All participants, prepare yourselves.][Final Stage will now begin.]
The glowing countdown that had been floating in the sky reached zero, dissolving into sparks of light as the words [FINAL STAGE INITIATING]
[Final Stage: Commencement Protocol Activated.][Objective: Unknown.][New Field Generated.][All survivors are required to proceed to the designated location.]
A deep, echoing hum filled the air, vibrating through the ground beneath their feet. The sky above began to shift dark clouds swirling into a perfect spiral as if something was pulling the very atmosphere into a single point.
Then, without warning— A blinding column of light burst down from the center of the swirling sky.
The sheer brilliance forced everyone to shield their eyes, some covering their faces with their arms, others turning their heads away in pain as the brightness pierced through their vision.
The ground shook violently, cracks splitting across the earth as the light slammed into the center of the battlefield like a divine hammer.
The impact roared like thunder. A massive shockwave exploded outward, hurling loose debris and dust in every direction. Several weaker participants were knocked off their feet. The heat from the blast prickled against their skin.
Lauren immediately spread her arms wide, A strong current of wind surged outward from her body, swirling and twisting into a controlled gust that began clearing the suffocating cloud of dust.
The area slowly came into view.
And there… standing where the light had struck… were three massive doors.
They were impossibly tall, stretching far above the height of any building in the kingdom, made of some unknown metal that glimmered faintly under the sunlight.
No words, no engravings, no symbols. Just three silent, unmarked portals waiting.
The crowd slowly gathered near the strange doors, unsure whether to step closer or keep their distance.
“What… are those?” one awakener muttered, narrowing his eyes at the towering portals.
“Do you think they lead outside?”
“No. If it’s the final stage… it’s definitely not an exit.””What if they’re traps?”
“Or maybe rewards…?”
“Rewards? After all this?” a scoff came from somewhere in the crowd. “Don’t be stupid. This is the final stage. There’s no such thing as a reward without a price.”
The murmurs grew louder, some filled with curiosity, others with dread. All eyes stayed fixed on the massive, silent doors.
[Objective: Claim the Divine Weapon.]
[Only one participant will be able to obtain it, Three portals have been opened, each leading to a separate trial.]
[Each path will test a different truth. Choose wisely. Once entered, the trial cannot be left until it is completed or you are eliminated.]
For a few tense seconds, no one moved. The air felt heavy, as if the portals themselves were waiting for someone to make the first move.
Then Seoha stepped forward, her massive sword resting on her shoulder, a confident smirk on her face.
“Oh yeah! Divine weapon is mine!” she declared loudly enough for everyone to hear. Without hesitation, she dashed straight toward the center portal.
Daewon’s eyes narrowed instantly. “Oh no you’re not!” he barked, breaking into a sprint after her. In the next heartbeat, both of them vanished into the glowing light of the central path.
Not far behind, Ji-eun twirled her lotus petals beneath her feet. “Tch, better not let them hog all the glory.”
She slipped inside without another word. Min Yoon-ji swung her scythe onto her back and followed, and Lee Min-joon gave a sharp exhale before jumping through. Gideon stretched his wings once and leapt inside as well.
Just like that, the middle portal swallowed most of the top rankers.
Those still standing outside exchanged glances, some visibly relieved.”…The center’s where the strongest went.”
“Exactly. Why fight them for it?”
“Yeah… the left door’s the smart choice.”
“If the divine weapon can only be claimed by one person, better take a path without them.”
“Let them kill each other in the middle.”
“Yeah, that’s their purpose. They loved challenging each other a bunch of battle maniac.”
A small group broke off toward the left door and the others started entering the portals they chosed same as Alexa.
Meanwhile, Lauren on the back let out a quiet sigh and walked toward the left portal, Seojun noticed and followed after her, but she turned and raised her hand to stop him.
“I’ll be going through the left door, I have a favor for you to go in the right door.”
Seojun frowned slightly and shook his head. “No. I’m not letting you take that risk.”
“If the divine weapon isn’t in there, then it will be in the right door. I want to make sure it ends up in the right hands… and if it’s not me, then I want you to be the one to get it. If you don’t, then at least you can see if the person who claims it is truly worthy.” She explained.
Lauren’s expression softened, and she stepped closer, her eyes warm but determined. “Please, Seojun… this is important. I’m asking you, not as your mother, but as someone who trusts you more than anyone.”
