Chapter 474: Chapter 472: Stage 2 Completed
As he landed, his foot slammed down and sent a shock of shadow energy through the ground.
“Voidflame Threads.”
Dozens of thin, black strings shot out from under the ground. They climbed the dragon’s body, wrapping around its legs, its wings, its neck. The dragon screamed and flapped its wings, trying to burn them off but the flames passed through They were mana-draining.
The dragon froze for a second That was all Seojun needed. He appeared right above its head, falling fast with his leg aimed down.
His foot slammed onto the dragon’s skull like a hammer. The dragon’s head jerked downward, smashing into the ground again. Dust flew up. Seojun landed on its back.
Seojun stood tendrils of black energy still swirling around him like serpents ready to strike. The shadow dragon breathing heavily, large parts of its smoky form damaged and flickering, barely holding together. It let out a low growl, more cautious now.
But before the fight could continue, a familiar voice called out through the air.
“That’s enough, Seojun! That’s enough!”
Seojun’s head turned slightly. From below, Lauren was rising toward them, her figure surrounded by a barrier of light that carried her through the sky.
Seojun didn’t say anything at first. His eyes were still glowing faintly, his body tense, but then he spoke, his voice cold and full of buried rage.
“This thing… hurt you.”
Lauren floated closer, her eyes filled with worry. “I’m perfectly okay,” she said, her voice softer now. “Please, don’t kill. That’s enough.”
The fury that surrounded Seojun slowly started to fade as he looked at her face. Her expression, filled with worry not for herself, but for him made something heavy drop from his shoulders.
His dark tendrils stopped moving. In the blink of an eye, he was in front of Lauren.
“I’m sorry, Mom,” he said, his voice low. “I came late.”
Lauren smiled faintly and opened her arms. “It’s okay,” she said, pulling him into a warm hug.
But then her eyes widened.
Behind Seojun, the shadow dragon roared suddenly and lunged forward, its huge mouth wide open, shadows twisting around its fangs.
“Seojun—!” Lauren shouted and shoved him back.
The dragon’s jaw came down, but it didn’t bite.
Because in that instant, Seojun was already there his small figure somehow standing in the air directly in front of the dragon’s massive open mouth.
He held both of his arms out, palms flat, one hand pressing against the top jaw, the other against the lower one.
And he forced the creature’s mouth closed with sheer pressure. Veins of dark aura raced from his arms into the dragon’s jaws, locking them shut like chains made of fear itself.
The dragon’s eyes bulged as it tried to open its mouth again, but couldn’t. Its body shook. Its wings flapped madly.
Seojun’s face was calm, but his shadow tendrils rose again like a crown behind him.
“Enough,” he whispered.
The sky trembled.
With the dragon’s jaws forced shut by Seojun’s bare hands, darkness rippled outward from him in every direction. His tendrils stretched wide, then twisted together into a single point above his palm, compressing the dark into a sphere dense, swirling, and pulsing with hunger.
A whisper escaped his lips, quiet but heavy:
“Voidflame Gluttony.”
The dark sphere expanded instantly, roaring like a black hole tearing open the world. A vacuum-like pull erupted around them as the glowing sphere devoured light, wind, even sound. The dragon tried to flap its wings, tried to escape but it was far too late.
Tendrils of shadow lashed out from the void, wrapping around the shadow dragon’s massive body, binding it tightly.
It thrashed, it roared its voice muffled as parts of its smoky body were pulled away like paper in a storm. Piece by piece, the darkness that made it began unraveling, sucked straight into the Gluttony sphere.
Seojun didn’t move. His hand remained extended, his eyes fixed coldly as the creature that hurt his mother was devoured completely and utterly erased.
Within seconds, the dragon gave one last distorted cry then vanished.
The Gluttony orb shrank and faded with a low hum… gone.
Silence followed.
The wind stilled. All across the kingdom, the remaining Abyss monsters suddenly halted. Many of them looked up… confused, then afraid. They screeched and fled in every direction, their command gone.
Before anyone could even process what had just happened, a sharp mechanical chime echoed from the sky heard across the entire world.
