Capítulo 574: A Blade To Drink Blood!

His Assimilation could actually hurt Primordial Civilizations enough that if he devoured significant portions of their authority and connections to Existence, he would actually be capable of stopping their resurrections entirely.

This was a terrifying piece of knowledge to come across as it made absolutely clear exactly why THE Slumbering Genesis and THE Corpse Hierophant would have no issue joining hands despite eternal enmity to coordinate wiping out this common threat. They weren’t simply concerned about him being inconvenient or challenging their organizational structures, but rather recognized he represented existential danger to their capacity for eventual return to full power.

And he didn’t know precisely how much they already understood regarding his full capabilities like this entity standing before him apparently did through her dream-sight. The question of what intelligence other Collapsed Civilizations possessed about his true nature remained a critical unknown that could determine whether his current strategies would continue working or catastrophically fail.

This entity commanded the Civilization of Dreams, and she had stated that she’d perceived possible futures where his capabilities threatened fundamental assumptions about what could and couldn’t be permanently destroyed.

She possessed this terrifying piece of information about what he represented to the Shattered Folds, and after obtaining such knowledge she could have responded in multiple different ways.

She could have immediately attempted to eliminate him before he grew stronger, or she could have shared intelligence with other Collapsed Civilizations to coordinate overwhelming response, or she could have simply maintained distance and observed from safety while others dealt with the problem.

But instead she chose to do something completely different.

She chose to find him personally while speaking about forming an alliance rather than treating him as a threat requiring elimination.

But this was a dangerous entity to even be standing next to given the power differential between them, and if he was seriously considering working with such a being, he needed to be absolutely certain about her motivations and objectives before committing to anything!

He looked at THE Endless Dream with analytical gaze that tried to pierce through surface diplomacy to understand deeper calculations, and his voice when he spoke carried careful precision.

“Ultimately, what is your aim in all this? I could better provide guidance on exactly what something like me means for your plans if I know what someone like you is actually looking for as end result.”

…!

THE Endless Dream smiled.

“My aim is nothing particularly grand or complicated in its basic form. My Civilization is collapsed, and I simply wish for it to no longer be in that diminished state. It is as straightforward as that.” Her tone was matter-of-fact. “When it came to the threat you represent, a few of us have sensed it through various means, and most will react in the same predictable way that entities of our nature typically respond to unexpected variables. They will attempt to remove the obstacle that has appeared before it can grow into genuine problem.”

She gestured casually as if dismissing conventional approaches.

“I have chosen to go about addressing your existence in a different way entirely. Call it a bet or a gamble on uncertain outcomes, but I do plan for this alternative strategy to pay off substantially.” Her jeweled eyes gleamed with calculation.

“Right now all Leaders of Collapsed Civilizations operate under similar constraints where we have one level of power that we can express openly in conflicts and operations, and another level of power that we must keep in reserve to prepare for potential contingencies against other Collapsed Civilizations who might take advantage of any perceived weakness.”

She paused before delivering her actual proposal.

“I can take one of those reserves that I’ve been maintaining for defensive contingencies, specifically a significant cluster of THE Civilizational Authority that I had been saving to eventually distribute among my Dream Walkers and Firstborns of Dreams, and instead have you Assimilate the entirety of that concentrated power.” Her tone suggested this was substantial offering.

“Through providing this authority to you, I can also implement protective measures that will mask your true nature and mark you as a Dream Walker as you continue your rampage across the Shattered Folds while devouring the weavings of other Collapsed Civilizations.”

Her smile widened with predatory satisfaction.

“Basically I see you as a sharp blade with tremendous cutting potential, and I will give you some of my blood to drink as initial offering freely while you proceed to devour all the blood of my rivals and enemies. When the other Collapsed Civilizations are continuing to get weakened through your consumption of their foundations, I will continue growing relatively stronger even if my absolute power remains constant. And you will obviously grow stronger through consuming their accumulated authority, which serves both our interests perfectly.”

…!

THE Endless Dream smiled in a manner that was absolutely terrifying despite her elegant appearance, because her Dream of restored glory was fundamentally a nightmare for every other Collapsed Civilization that would find themselves being systematically devoured.

But when Achilles thought about all the implications of what she was proposing and calculated the advantages such arrangement would provide, his eyes also burned brightly with conviction about the path forward.

An alliance with a THE entity who operated at scales far beyond his current capability, who could provide protection and resources that would dramatically accelerate his advancement while simultaneously using him as weapon against her rivals.

As he faced similar entities who held power that could potentially devastate everything he valued if they focused their full attention on hunting him down, Achilles recognized this represented his best chance for survival and eventual dominance, in the quickest possible way.

He did not delay any longer in making his decision as he spoke with firm certainty.

“Then an alliance it is.”

BOOM!

The surroundings churned with response to this agreement being formalized as THE Endless Dream laughed with genuine delight at his acceptance.

“Then drink deeply and have your first proper taste of what THE distinction truly means in terms of concentrated authority and connection to Existence itself.”

…!

THE Civilizational Authority of Dreams surrounded him in overwhelming abundance, far more potent than anything he’d consumed before from common members or even elevated Commanders.

Achilles felt his existence pulse with intense hunger that had been suppressed through tremendous willpower throughout this entire conversation, but he wanted to approach this consumption in controlled manner rather than losing himself to mindless feeding frenzy. He extended a single finger forward toward the vibrant river of silver-gold authority flowing directly in front of him, and his voice carried command that activated his glorious capability.

“Assimilate!”
