Capítulo 562: Movements In The Shadows! IV

But he did not mention this observation to his ancient rival, recognizing that such information could be leveraged more effectively through selective revelation.

His eyes flashed with sharp light as he looked toward none other than THE Corpse Hierophant with an expression that suggested careful consideration of how much to share.

“I know what you know as we both sensed when our civilizations were violated at the same time through mechanisms we established.” His tone was measured and diplomatic.

“Since our power is still weak in this partially manifested state and we cannot really act directly without risking further damage to our incomplete recovery, how about we share the burden of figuring out this enemy and determining how we can take care of them before they become genuine threat?”

At such words, THE Corpse Hierophant smiled calmly with an expression that combined amusement and disdain about their current limitations.

“Is it not unique that despite our power and all our accumulated brilliance, we now have to share the burden of gathering information on something unfathomably weaker than us?” His smile widened slightly.

“Reduced to coordinating against an insect that happened to stumble upon capability it doesn’t understand. How the mighty have fallen.”

…!

THE Slumbering Genesis rubbed his belly with a gesture of comfort despite the serious nature of their discussion, and his reply carried acceptance about their situation.

“Such is life and such is existence. Circumstances change, and we adapt or we remain collapsed permanently.” His tone became more businesslike. “I will figure out the who and determine how they look so we can identify them precisely. You figure out the where and the when so we can coordinate elimination efficiently.”

The two entities agreed to this division of labor, and both of them closed their eyes in the next moment as existence around them came to standstill that suggested reality itself was holding its breath.

Terrifying authorities erupted from each of them as they employed capabilities that transcended normal perception to analyze events that had violated their civilizational principles.

Moments passed in subjective eternity before THE Slumbering Genesis opened his eyes with expression that said he’d successfully extracted desired information.

He waved his hands with a casual gesture, and in the air between them an illusory appearance manifested with perfect clarity.

The figure that appeared was none other than… Achilles, his form captured in moment of clarity that revealed every detail about his current state.

THE Slumbering Genesis spoke with a calm analytical tone.

“A human creature by the name of Adrastia. Young, weak, feeble by our standards, but he is an anomaly that may possess the same fundamental potential as you or I possessed before our elevation.” His expression remained neutral.

“Especially considering what they’re apparently able to do with the authority of my civilization and yours simultaneously. They are weak within the rankings of the Level Zero Scale of Existence according to our conventional measurements. Within our collapsed civilizations, we have many commanders and leaders that are many times more powerful than him in raw capability.”

…!

At such words, THE Corpse Hierophant nodded, and his voice when he spoke carried edge of accusation.

“I have figured out the where, and part of them lies in one of your sanctuaries.” He paused for emphasis.

“You dumb fucker, is there anything that you didn’t tell me? Are you actually involved in any of this violation personally?”

…!

THE Slumbering Genesis responded to such accusatory words with a serious expression, and his denial came with force that made the surrounding space tremble.

“Remember, my authority was affected here as well through the same mechanisms that alerted you.” His tone carried weight of cosmic truth. “I would not violate my own civilizational principles for unknown experiment when recovery remains incomplete.”

…!

THE Corpse Hierophant’s eyes shone with cold sense of brutal calculation as he processed this information.

His voice when he spoke carried finality.

“Okay, we know the issue at hand, and it is currently weak and budding with potential not yet realized, so let us nip it cleanly before it can develop further.” His expression remained cold and analytical.

“Unless he appears within our concentrated domains of power where we maintain enough presence to act directly, we cannot move against him personally in our current weakened state. And in my collapsed condition, I cannot even curse him effectively across the distances involved.” He paused thoughtfully.

“When it comes to anomalies, we both understand that they can be similar to cockroaches in their irritating persistence and capacity for survival against overwhelming odds.”

His plan crystallized as he continued speaking.

“So you appear in dreams of your forces and provide them with revelation about this threat. I will appear in dreams of mine and issue similar commands. We can both hand down guidance for Life and Necrocracy to be working together temporarily to ensure the erasure of a particularly vile threat that seeks to devour both our civilizations.” His smile was cold and calculating.

“Let’s do it cleanly and efficiently with overwhelming force that ensures success. And we can coordinate this elimination while still leaving our strongest forces guarding the most important Nodes of our Civilizations since I know you don’t trust me, nor do I trust you.”

His expression darkened with ancient bitterness about past conflicts.

“And the others… what vile things they all are. You all could have just submitted to me all the way back then when I proposed unified hierarchy. None of us would have had our foundations collapsed, and I may even have pioneered and found a way towards the next Scale of Civilization beyond what we achieved.”

He sighed with what might have been genuine regret. “What a shame… what a shame. Ah no matter, send your revelations to your forces, and I will send mine.”

…!

Decisions were made as brilliant light rose from both sides of the transparent barrier, and reality itself seemed to acknowledge that an irreversible weaving of existence had been set in motion.

The coordinated dreams would reach across Observable Existence to commanders and champions who would receive a mandate to eliminate specific target, and an overwhelming force would be brought to bear against anomaly that had dared to violate principles governing how Civilizations functioned!

The Great Hunt… had officially begun!
