Capítulo 561: Movements In The Shadows! III
Across Observable Existence.
Far from any perceivable weavings of reality that most beings could even imagine reaching, there existed a domain. This was a space between spaces, where entities of sufficient power could manifest without fully entering the physical plane.
The domain appeared as endless white light that stretched in all directions without apparent boundary or limitation, and within this blank canvas of pure potential, something began to shift.
A moment later, half of this domain started to fill with radiant green light that pulsed with concentrated vitality and growth principles that would overwhelm lesser beings through sheer intensity.
The other half began filling with deathly obsidian light that embodied endings and transformation through dissolution, and the two authorities pressed against each other with force that made reality itself tremble from their proximity.
The lights seethed without mixing as a faint transparent wall manifested between them, allowing these fundamentally opposed authorities to coexist without immediate mutual annihilation.
A moment later from the side filled with green brilliance and overwhelming life force, an outline began to manifest as concentrated authority condensed into coherent form.
The figure that emerged was a humanoid draconic elephantine entity whose appearance combined features from multiple species. Its body was massive and possessed weight that bent space around it simply through existing, and its form radiated such pure life authority that lesser beings would feel compelled to bow simply from proximity to its presence.
Verdant scales covered portions of its body while other sections displayed smooth elephant-like hide, and magnificent horns curved from its skull.
On the other side of the transparent barrier, another entity appeared surrounded by glorious deathly authorities that made the obsidian light seem pale by comparison.
His body was massive and titanic in scale, easily matching the elephantine entity’s impressive dimensions, and he looked entirely humanoid with perfect proportions.
His skin was radiant obsidian that seemed to absorb light while simultaneously emitting its own dark radiance, and his features were aristocratic in their refined beauty despite carrying weight of countless endings.
Both of these beings wore calm and regal expressions that suggested they were entities of extremely high stature who had witnessed cycles beyond mortal comprehension, and their very presence made reality around them more ordered simply through their attention being directed toward maintaining coherent form.
The moment they fully manifested within these separated domains, they looked at each other across the transparent barrier with recognition. The one burning with life authority nodded with a gesture that acknowledged respect despite obvious tensions, and his voice when he spoke carried weavings that made the surrounding space resonate in sympathy.
“I expected for you to be so much more advanced than the rest of us given your historical advantages, but I did not think you were this close to full emergence already.”
“The progress you’ve made during our collective slumber is… concerning.”
The entity shrouded by deathly authority nodded calmly, and his reply carried arrogance that seemed earned rather than empty boasting.
“I was always more exceptional than all of you combined, and recent developments merely confirm what should have been apparent from the beginning.” His voice was smooth and cold like polished stone.
“If you had listened to my ideas and words all the way back then during the final confrontations, you and I could have joined hands and ensured that not all of us collapsed when THE conflict reached its inevitable conclusion. But no, you were too foolhardy with your ideals about preserving independence and maintaining separate spheres of influence rather than accepting a rational hierarchy under my coordination.”
The elephantine entity laughed at this accusation, and the sound was surprisingly jovial given the weight of their discussion. He clutched his large belly with one massive hand while his eyes sparkled with amusement about old arguments being rehashed.
“Are you serious? After everything that occurred, you still believe your approach would have prevented mutual collapse?” His laughter subsided into chuckles that suggested genuine mirth rather than mockery.
“I can’t even bother talking about ancient history right now when present concerns demand our attention. So I’ll just focus on why we appeared here in the first place.” His expression shifted toward something more serious. “You sensed the violation of our authorities?”
…!
The violation of their authorities.
These beings were extremely pristine and powerful in nature, and what they could perceive extended far beyond what other entities could even begin to detect.
Their power operated at scales where conventional measurements became meaningless, and they existed in states that lesser creatures would struggle to comprehend even through direct observation.
And they had both sensed something that troubled them enough to manifest partially despite the risks such action carried during their incomplete recovery.
The entity surrounded by death nodded at this question with expression that suggested the violation had personally offended him through its audacity.
“In our slumber, right before our planned reemergence into full power, something is actually daring enough as to successfully fuse our civilizational authorities of Life and Necrocracy.” His voice carried cold fury beneath controlled delivery.
“If they had naturally failed as they should have when attempting something so fundamentally impossible, that would have been fine and unremarkable. But they did the ridiculous thing of succeeding, and right away I felt a glimmer of my brilliance being siphoned off through connection I didn’t authorize.”
He paused to let that sink in before continuing.
“This could actually be a rather large problem as it means that in our absence, something capable of elevating and potentially birthing a civilization grander than ours has risen.” His obsidian eyes narrowed with calculation.
“And if they were really capable of sustained growth at such scales, they would have continued siphoning off everything that we possess rapidly and without restraint. Since they did not do so, they must still be fairly weak and only rising in potential, which gives us a chance to destroy them before they grow beyond our capacity to eliminate.” He looked directly at his counterpart across the barrier.
“Do you know anything more about them beyond what we both sensed?”
…!
The draconic elephantine entity known as THE Slumbering Genesis was actually silent for several moments, and within his consciousness, a memory flashed of a humanoid entity raising their hand inside one of his countless temples and proceeding to assimilate everything present including the Noble Idol that should have been inviolable.
