Chapter 307: The Watcher.

Kyle drove away, and he couldn’t believe how peaceful his life had become. He noticed Ella was yet to respond to his messages despite reading them.

The fact that he didn’t spend the night at home and she didn’t reach out to see if he was okay was proof that she didn’t spend the night there either.

Kyle knew she would need space and time to come to terms with what had happened, because even if it was ‘wrong,’ she did get excited by it.

That was a recipe for internal conflict, but Kyle didn’t think too much of this.

The traffic today was something else—it was unlike anything he had seen in quite some time.

Kyle’s phone buzzed shortly after, and it was from an unsaved number with an address.

Kyle wasn’t expecting to meet anyone, nor did he have any meeting scheduled, so why did whoever sent this think he would jeopardise his safety and go to the address?

“This must be a prank…” Kyle muttered under his breath and put the phone back in his pocket.

However, there was this uneasy feeling that came with the text.

Kyle quickly checked the location on his car’s navigation system and noticed it was a place he could reach in the next 5 minutes if he took a quick detour.

Kyle knew it was about time to change his approach and made a quick stop at a nearby gun shop.

He was about to get strapped up because he knew fighting with his hands against people who used guns was the dumbest thing one could do.

Kyle knew he had to arm himself, and if he had a gun, he would have a sense of security that came with it.

Kyle got a gun in less than ten minutes, but he had mastered how to use it because of all the games he had played.

There was no way there wouldn’t be similarities between them both, and Kyle needed it, but hoped he wouldn’t have to use it.

This was the Heckler & Koch MP5 that easily exceeded $70,000—a very good submachine gun that could unleash enough bullets in a limited amount of time.

It was far more ideal than a pistol, and Kyle’s clean record made buying it possible, not to mention that he overpaid for it.

This was to hasten the process, and this granted him the upper hand because now, he was ready.

Kyle drove to the location given to him, but the area was partly deserted—it was out in the middle of nowhere.

There was no building in sight, but Kyle had his gun right now, so there was a sense of reassurance.

Kyle stopped there and waited for whoever it was that had sent him the message, but to his surprise, he got another text.

However, it was a picture of him. Kyle immediately yanked his head in the direction from which it was taken.

There was no one, but this was something that worried him—it would be so easy to kill him. But Kyle had his gun strapped to his back, hidden by his loose shirt.

He was ready to stand his ground should the situation call for it, but there was no target.

However, Kyle quickly ducked down when he heard the revving engine of something coming from afar.

He had no idea who it was, but there was no way a car should be coming down this road.

Kyle could feel his heart beating harder than it should, and this told him all he needed to.

This was dangerous, and suddenly, a gun didn’t feel enough, but it would have to do.

Kyle took a deep breath before assuming a false identity. He carried himself differently as he adopted a character that would do well in a situation like this, and that character was John Wick.

Kyle stood up, filled with confidence, and just as he expected, the car came to a halt right in front of him.

Kyle relaxed on the hood of his vehicle and realised it was about time he got to the bottom of this.

Two heavily armed men exited the vehicle first. Kyle took note of the guns in their hands, and it was no small weapons.

It easily eclipsed the weapon he owned in price, and should they fire that thing at him, there was no way in hell he would survive it.

But the person who exited the vehicle next shocked Kyle because this was a face he knew.

“You are…!”

Nakamura sat in his office with a huge cigarette between his lips. The thing about this man was that no one saw him parading with women, despite his status, making this an easy task.

He didn’t chase or pursue women because he understood this was how great men fell.

He couldn’t exhibit any weaknesses that would otherwise be used against him, and this included the opposite sex.

Nakamura was focused on his task, and there was only one thing standing in his way right now.

The Mafia’s message wasn’t restricted to just the criminals but also to Nakamura.

Nakamura knew he could join this world if he wanted to, but he was serious, wanting only to make a name for himself legitimately.

However, if he was threatened in any way, that was a different story altogether.

He knew the families were gathering, and there was only one reason for them to do something like that.

He understood the situation a lot better than anyone else right now, because this was a takeover.

There was no other way to describe this situation, as the families rarely gathered unless something major was about to go down.

Yuki noticed he was on edge and realised things must not be going according to plan for this to happen.

Nakamura knew the success of the movie would put his agency in the limelight, and this meant he couldn’t do anything rash, as there was a chance it could blow up in his face.

He worked too hard to get here, and while he might not be directly involved in what was about to go down, he knew getting involved could potentially drag the Yakuza into it.

I have found one and will be fixing previous chapters!
