Capítulo 302: Families! [FIXED!]

Kyle had secured a major victory in his dealings and was on the losing side of it if money was to be taken into consideration; however, this was a small price to pay.

Kyle knew making a movie wasn’t cheap and had a glimpse of the potential success it could bring.

He was trying his best to find means to expand his wealth should the system disappear as mysteriously as it appeared.

Even though these contracts seemed to work against him in the long run, they acted as a catalyst for something greater.

The goal he sought was something greater, but he needed to lay the groundwork for it to come to fruition.

He had completed his deal with the twins, and this granted him an infinite amount of possibilities because Nakamura had shown him it was much better to be the one in charge of the production rather than provide the talents.

He walked out of his club and to his utmost surprise, he saw Yuki standing right in front of him.

“Mr. Nakamura would like to see you,” Yuki informed him, but Kyle raised a brow because of what happened to the phones.

They weren’t extinct the last time he checked, so why did Yuki appear here, or worse, how did she know he was here?

“I will have to postpone, now isn’t a good time.” Kyle knew he couldn’t ask the questions he truly wanted to ask.

He had to be careful not to spook her either because he understood the dangers of doing so.

If anything, this implies they have been watching, but of course, this could also be a coincidence.

There was a chance this wasn’t as straightforward as Kyle thought, even though his paranoia had peaked.

Yuki didn’t say a word and just looked at him. Something told Kyle she wouldn’t take no for an answer, but he didn’t care.

There wasn’t anything she could do to him at this moment because Kyle was confident enough that he could take her should the extreme scenario present itself.

“Is there a problem?” Kyle asked sternly upon noticing she wasn’t moving out of his way.

But from the corner of his eyes, he noticed two figures standing some distance behind her.

“I’m afraid I have to insist,” Yuki said, and Kyle realised this was an opportunity to find out what was going on, but he had to be careful no one was watching him.

It wouldn’t take a genius to connect the dots if they were laid out so blatantly, and Kyle wasn’t about to make that mistake.

They took him somewhere he had never been before, or rather, a place Nakamura had no business being in, which begged the question of whether it was truly Nakamura he was going to see.

“Where are you taking me?” Kyle asked but got no response.

He was in the backseat with the two men seated on either side of the door, with Kyle trapped in the middle.

Yuki was in the passenger seat with another man driving; this could very well be an abduction, but Kyle wasn’t about to go down easily.

Luckily, he was confident in his fighting skills because it was something he had perfected.

Kyle had absorbed different fighting styles, and his body could keep up thanks to the gym he participated in.

Kyle had to wait for an opening, and these people were full of openings; this was because they didn’t know the threat he posed.

However, he wanted to see where they were taking him and if Nakamura was going to confess to trying to take his life.

If he wanted to, now would be the perfect time as well, because there was nothing he could do, so taking him this far out was bizarre.

Kyle stayed ready because they were already an hour into their drive, the further they drove.

The more secluded it became, and Kyle knew anything could happen at any time.

They stopped in front of a building, which looked fancy, but it was out of place considering the other buildings around it looked run down.

If anything, this looked like an abandoned or failed “Akon City”, but Kyle knew better not to act yet.

They took him outside, but once again, the opening remained; they didn’t carry themselves like killers, or their body language wouldn’t be this loose.

They walked into the door, and Kyle’s eyes immediately glanced all over to take in as much as he could in as little time as possible.

He noticed there were a lot of cameras, but whether they were working was another thing entirely, and the fact that this place was fully furnished, however, no one was in sight, was enough to ring alarm bells.

This reminded him of his scuffle with Clarence or how he brought her into an abandoned site to keep her away from Kyle.

The similarities were too glaring for him to ignore, but if he was going to get out of this bind, he needed to take Yuki hostage.

“This is going to be hard,” Kyle thought to himself.

–

The underworld was in uproar, and the Mafia had sent a strong warning that could potentially unite enemies against them.

This would be the worst possible outcome, but there was no way the Don would have done something like this without taking all of this into consideration.

He held a meeting for the five families, who travelled from all over the world to be here.

This was how powerful and how much of an influence he held; America was just one of many countries in which they had a foothold.

The five families were the Sokolov, Moretti, Kurobane, O’Rourke, and Delacroix.

The man who had summoned them was from the Vescari family and held the most power after the civil war. The Vescari came out on top and appointed loyalists within these families as their head.

“I’m glad you all found time to show up at this time, but I wish it was under better circumstances,” Marcello revealed himself, wearing one of the most elegant suits known to man, and the other families sat around the table, already waiting.

Marcello’s presence was the real deal; this was a man who had flirted with power and conquered it, and each step he took told a story of unrivalled strength.

The other men, despite their rough faces and intimidating aura and appearance, none came close to commanding the presence Marcello did.

“Where is Viktor?” A man in a fedora and a distinct Italian accent asked. He was Lucius and the head of the Moretti family, while Viktor was the head of the family stationed in Russia.

“Viktor has already arrived… I needed his assistance with something,” Marcello responded, taking his seat.

“I should have known when I saw the news…” A beautiful lady dressed in one of the most expensive dresses to grace the earth, but despite her face, her body wasn’t as aesthetic.

She was rather flat-chested with a barely moderate behind, what one would expect a tomboy to look like.

She was called Madame Isabeau Delacroix, and she led the Delacroix family based in France.

“I’m afraid I had to use his skill to extract an important piece of information,” Marcello said in an apologetic tone.

He might be the Don, but he showed respect to every family member, despite them being people he picked to be at the helm after the civil war.

Why? Because this was the best way to avert another civil war, where he might not emerge as the victor.

He was careful about this and knew the consequences of when multiple dogs bite the hands that feed them.

He would have to sever that hand, and in doing so, he would be more vulnerable.

But before the conversation could go on, a bald man covered in tattoos from head to toe walked in. he had on a black leather jacket like a uniform only the streets could issue. His jacket—weathered, creased, and glinting in the sun rays sneaking in through the window—hung heavy on his frame. He carried the scent of smoke with a cigarette perched between his lips, and old violence.

He was everything one would think a criminal of that status would look like, standing at a hulking figure of 6’8. Except he wasn’t lean, he was built like a truck, which made him even more intimidating.

Unlike the other families that liked to make use of their foot soldiers, Viktor liked partaking in the violence directly, which made him by far the scariest member among the other family Dons, including Marcello.

But even a wild dog could be loyal if tamed properly, and this was what Marcello had done.

Viktor sat, and everyone could tell he had done something he wasn’t supposed to do; the air around him felt foul, but he was a foul person.

Viktor didn’t say a word because he knew it wasn’t his place to speak out of turn, especially if Marcello hadn’t given him permission to.

“I know it is uncharacteristic of myself to ask to meet in person, but there has been a change in plans,” Marcello said, and everyone’s attention was on him.

“Now then, let the meeting begin…”

I have found one and will be fixing previous chapters!
