Capítulo 441: Chapter 441: First Soul

Chapter 441 – First Soul

“Welcome to the Spirit World, Brandon.”

The words of the grey-skinned woman echoed strangely all around. In their wake, the grey fogs parted away like a curtain being pulled on each side, showing a clear view of the woman.

She sat on her majestic throne, her face still veiled by a dancing cluster of fog. And yet, Noah couldn’t stop the feeling of déjà vu submerging his senses when his eyes rested on her.

Coupled with how familiarly she called him, the way the name Brandon rolled out so smoothly on her tongue…

It was familiar.

It was very familiar.

Noah suppressed a shudder, purple eyes dilating as realization slowly dawned upon him.

He took one unconscious step forward, seeking to get closer to this woman as if doing so would sweep away the last ember of doubt inside his mind.

He never went too far.

Before he even blinked, three beings appeared in front of the Prince. Their eyes were wide and red with blistering anger, their bodies shaking as they threateningly strode toward him.

It was Luelle, the King in the North, and the Mother of Change.

They hadn’t forgotten what Noah had done to bring them here. And with anger clouding their minds, these foolish beings cared not for the Ruler sitting above them.

Selene, meanwhile, had joined Luminara on the ground. She watched dazedly the grey-skinned woman, clenching her chest, mouth opening and closing soundlessly, as if unable to put into words her current feeling.

Her palms went slick with sweat.

Yet it was cold around.

Elira, Justicia, and Emily ran toward her, worry evident on their faces.

While the others ran toward Noah, intending to help him, but they were stopped.

Beings like Laka, Tiamat, Ouroboros, and even the Queen of Hearts took apart the same opponents that brought them into this damned place.

Their faces seething, slithering with angry veins, ready to finish what they had started.

All of this happened while the Origins themselves, with their physical bodies, watched the scenes. Some Origins were already behind their previous masters, loyal to the bone — or maybe to the soul.

While others preferred to distance themselves, being aware that they were no longer in the Waking World.

And there, the rules were different.

All of them knew.

Luelle, more than anyone, knew the dreadfulness of the Spirit World.

But rage was a nasty feeling.

It blinded you in such a way that differentiating white and black became an impossible task.

And there, all of them were blinded by wrath, remembering what the Elysiari had done to them.

All of this, Noah registered quietly. His mind didn’t falter, his face didn’t show anything except a curl of his lips forming a mocking smile.

“Smile all you want, bastard.” Luelle grated, teeth clacking together. “But let’s see if you have anything more to sacrifice to win here.”

“Even death and your soul obliterated would not be enough to quench my fury.” The King said, blue eyes spotting frost. “You included me in a battle I had no part of. And you shall pay for it, Elysiari.”

The Mother of Change said nothing. But her hatred ran far deeper than even Luelle’s. If looks could kill, Noah was already long gone by the spite dripping from her silver eyes.

The man himself didn’t look bothered.

“I do have something to sacrifice.” Noah answered Luelle. “But I doubt even The Records would be able to bear it.”

They all frowned at his arrogant words.

But before they could continue, Noah’s eyes darted around the wide place and settled on the opponents of his wives.

He smiled emptily.

“Now, if any of you dare to touch a single hair of my women,” he craned his neck, “you will all die in the worst way possible. This time, there will be no afterlife. And no one will stop me.”

They trembled.

All of them.

Feeling a kind of authority in his voice that seemed to command life and death.

They stared at his odd purple eyes and felt the weight of Reality pressing down on them.

They shuddered, took a step back, souls quivering.

Only then did Noah turn his eyes toward the grey-skinned woman above, who had been watching all of this without care.

“Am I not right?” Noah asked her.

The feeling inside him intensified.

His eyes were special. If he wanted, he could tear away the fog hiding the woman and see her face.

Yet something made him not do it.

Something told him to wait.

And watch.

That feeling deepened when the woman spoke, her voice dancing with prideful laughter.

“So this is who you have become.” She spoke, talking to Noah as if she had known him ages past.

Her voice was melancholic, tired, yet filled with a deep sense of pride.

She raised her grey, slender hand next, making a lazy swipe gesture from left to right.

Instantly, tendrils of fog rolled out of existence, binding all the beings inside the space except the Elysiari, dragging them toward a distant corner.

“What—!”

“I have humored you, Luelle.” The woman cut her coldly, looking in the direction of the Progenitor of Elves. “Now don’t test my patience, will you?”

Luelle felt her soul-body about to explode into rainbow clouds at that instant. For a moment, she forgot to breathe, her very being pulsing with fear.

Instinctively, she lowered her head, biting her lips so hard the sound of flesh tearing apart echoed all around.

Luelle was seething.

But no one cared. No one could afford to care.

After her, none dared to talk or interrupt the grey-skinned woman. They all stood there, bound, kneeling, as they watched the Elysiari stand tall and strong.

Humiliation pierced their souls.

Noah was now beside Selene and Luminara, looking at them with worry and hidden confusion.

His women were all around them, wanting to speak but somehow afraid to do so because of the woman.

Noah spared them a reassuring smile, before focusing on Selene. Luminara still crying in relief.

“Are you responsible for this?” He asked, his voice calm despite the authority behind it.

An innate authority that made the air around rattle, wanting to bow toward Noah.

“For what?” The woman echoed.

“You know well what I mean. And,” Noah frowned upon Luminara, “what is she doing? Why is she kneeling toward you?”

The woman giggled.

The sound was soft and eerie. Like dozens of ghosts whispering good night to you.

“I shall answer you, Brandon.” She said, then looked at Luminara. “Luminara, you can rest at ease now. You have done your job and took well your part of the bargain.”

Luminara’s book shook. She parted her trembling lips, the ground below slowly becoming a puddle of tears.

“I-I did my best, First Soul.” She bowed even more. Shame the ground blocked her, she could have gone far deeper.

“Many things happened in the process, but… but I protected Selene, and I protected your child.”

The space suddenly became deathly silent.

The intuition of Noah slowly solidified, and he looked at the woman, wide-eyed.

“Do you understand now?” The woman said, as the fog began to dissipate slowly like a mirage, showing her face.

BADUM—!

Noah’s immortal heart skipped a beat.

Selene kneeled further, her soul-body quivering.

Noah looked at her in worry. “You are… No. What is happening to Selene?”

The grey-skinned woman — titled First Soul, a Ruler of the Spirit World, and Halima Maryam Imane, the mother of Brandon — smiled faintly at her son.

“Selene is a fragment of my soul.” Maryam said, slowly standing up. “I created her to take care of the vessel called Noah for your reincarnation, my baby Brandon. And I put Luminara, whom I helped escape the Spirit World, as both your guardian.”

The women, Luelle, the Origins, and all the Legacy Holders, all widened their eyes as the revelation echoed inside their minds, making them forget to breathe.

Noah opened his mouth in shock. He activated his third innate ability: The Eye of Reality, and all evidence came to him in a flood.

He staggered back, and Selene turned her head toward him, tears streaming down.

“My baby…” Selene whimpered, just in time for Maryam to appear in front of Noah.

She looked at him, then cried as tears of joy slid down her cheeks.

“My baby.” She said, cupping his cheeks. “My Brandon… finally you are here. Finally…”

She hugged him, trembling. Noah was still processing the revelation.

“…you returned to me, Brandon, my baby.”
