Chapter 308: Chapter 308: Tsk Tsk.

Chapter 308 – Tsk Tsk.

Inside the ethereal and beautiful frozen garden, Selene was sitting on the ground as Noah’s head rested on her lap, his eyes closed, his expression relaxed.

Since their little sessions of mother and son crying, they had stayed in this position, simply enjoying each other’s company.

The lotuses around them were circling in a slow and steady manner, adding to the already stunning beauty of the scene.

Whoever laid eyes on this moment would be quite shocked by such beauty. Selene was achingly, devastatingly, and unfairly beautiful with her long silver hair that reached her lower back, looking like a tapestry of silver threads woven together. Her blue eyes were shaped like snowflakes, holding the very beginning of ice within them. Her skin was pale white, as if the very concept of blood didn’t exist inside her, and her mouth, soft and rosy, gave the impression that the water resting within it might be sweeter than aged wine.

She looked like her whole being had been crafted by a primordial blacksmith using the very first shards of ice that existed in creation.

But the man resting on her lap was no less beautiful than her. In fact, we might even admit that he was more beautiful than her—and that alone speaks volumes about how dreadful Noah’s beauty was.

Describing him with measly words would be an insult. So, the only thing we can say—just to help your mind try to grasp the level of his beauty, and I doubt you truly can—is that Noah… could get any woman he wanted without much trouble.

When it came to him, the very concept of preference didn’t exist. He was everyone’s type.

Yes, I know. It’s unfair. But that’s just how life is.

But right now, neither of them were concerned with beauty. No. Instead…

“Do you have any idea of what I should do with Sari?” Noah asked with a soft voice, his eyes still closed, his breathing in perfect rhythm with the rotating, pulsing lotuses around them.

Selene smiled faintly as she lovingly caressed her son’s hair.

“You already know what you should do,” she said after a couple of seconds.

Noah sighed ruefully, “Is that the only way? I mean yes… I don’t mind but…” his voice trailed off at the end, unable to find the right words to describe his feelings. But the constant caress of his mother calmed him, and eventually—

“I don’t want her to think I’m with her only because of guilt. I don’t want her to feel like I pity her… Mother… I truly don’t want that,” he added softly.

“You’re thinking too much. Everyone knows you by now. We know that you’d never do anything to hurt our feelings—our pride—or anything of that sort. So, we know you wouldn’t accept to be with anybody if you didn’t truly love her.”

“We know how much you value our connections, and you wouldn’t bring someone into our lives if you didn’t like her—especially not someone who might disrupt our peace. So why worry? Go. Do what you have to do. Embrace her. Make her feel good about herself. Make her…”

She paused for a moment before a sad smile crept onto her lips.

“Make her feel like nothing happened. And stop acting like a shy and indecisive man. It doesn’t suit you,” she said, her voice holding a joking tone near the end.

Noah didn’t speak for a moment.

And in that moment, you could only hear the wind whipping softly across the garden, almost tender in its touch—soothing the two heavenly beings resting on the ground.

Finally, Noah stood up slowly from his mother’s loving embrace. He lowered his head and looked down at her, catching the faint smile on her lips. He shook his head.

“What would I have become without you?” he asked, his tone full of quiet gratitude.

But Selene just smirked slyly at her son, “You wouldn’t be here—existing—without me anyway,” she said with casual strength, making Noah burst into joyful laughter.

“And you know what, Mother? I wouldn’t accept any reality without you as my mother,” Noah retorted, before disappearing from the garden—leaving behind a smiling Selene, who couldn’t help but shake her head.

“What a smooth talker,” she muttered playfully under her breath, her heart beating fast like a young maiden in love after hearing such simple words.

What an easy mother.

…

Noah reappeared inside a room.

The room was very big—at least the size of a regular parking lot—but also very simplistic, with ordinary colors like grey and black painting the walls, ceiling, and floor.

On the far left of the room stood a large, luxurious bed. At its side was a small table, on top of which was a framed picture. The room was illuminated by a soft white light coming from the chandelier accroached to the ceiling.

Noah looked around with quiet intrigue. This was his first time inside Sari’s room.

He walked toward the bed and sat gingerly at its edge before picking up the picture from the shelf.

It was one of both Ester and Sari together. But in that photo, Ester still had her original black hair and red eyes, and looked around six years old.

Noah couldn’t help but chuckle lightly as he noticed how hard Ester was trying to look expressionless, just like her mother.

The two of them really were identical. Same facial features, same hair, same eyes… Seeing this, Noah almost thought that Sari had simply copied herself.

It was a funny thought—but one he couldn’t help but entertain for a little longer, especially when he remembered that he had never seen Ester’s father.

But wasn’t that a bit daring of him to wonder? After all… had he ever seen, or even heard about his own father?

Never.

But for his own sanity, Noah had long decided to never ask his mother that question—unless she came to him of her own will and started talking about the origin of his birth.

‘I’m not curious anyway. I don’t want to know who my father is. What’s the use of a father anyway? Tsk tsk. I’ve lived two lives without one… I think I’m a pretty good child, right?’

‘Yes def—!’

“Noah?” a soft and surprised voice interrupted his thoughts as Noah snapped his head toward the sound and saw a scene that could make any man drool and start reading with one hand.

Sari was standing there, her body glistening with droplets of water, a small white towel wrapped tightly around her form, showing off her well-shaped breasts and elegant figure.

“…Gods,” Noah unconsciously muttered as he stared at Sari like a hungry wolf.

“AHHHHHHH!!”

Sari immediately squealed like a small girl.
