Chapter 665: Luo Huian: Don’t you dare eye my Xiao Bai!

“Are you alright?” Luo Huian took a glance at You Ruojin, who was pliant on the couch, and frowned hard. It was one of the days when she came to the penthouse because she had some work at the guild, and the last thing she needed to see was You Ruojin lying like a corpse.

When You Ruojin heard Luo Huian’s voice, she snapped her head up and looked at Luo Huian and Duan Jia Xu, who came to look for her.

“Huian!” You Ruojin cried out loud, even though she hadn’t called Luo Huian; she had missed her greatly. She got to her feet and then rushed over to Luo Huian before throwing herself into the woman’s arms. Rubbing her face against Luo Huian’s bosom, she softly cooed, “I missed you so much. Why didn’t you come to look for me in these past few days?”

She didn’t want to complain to Luo Huian, as she was thankful that the woman had done so much for her. Not only did she rescue her from her toxic and abusive ex, but she also took care of a job and arranged a place for her and her family to stay. Even though she was an F-class rank hunter, she was treated with the same resources and respect as Luo Huian at the guild, even though she didn’t do anything to bring any resources back to the guild.

So, of course, she wouldn’t be so ungrateful that she would complain to Luo Huian about the treatment that she was facing at the weapon-making department, but at the same time, she wished she could meet with Luo Huian a bit more. However, You Ruojin knew that Luo Huian was also busy and had her own family whom she had to take care of.

“Didn’t I come to see you?” Luo Huian remarked as she looked down at the woman who was clinging to her. She narrowed her eyes and sensed the gloom index that was rising. “Is everything alright at the company? Is someone bullying you?” She asked when she saw that the gloom index was getting way too high for someone who was under her care. What kind of torment was You Ruojin going through that her gloom index started to rise again?

You Ruojin paused, and Luo Huian, who noticed it, felt anger surge within her. Did she not tell those idiots to treat this woman well? Why couldn’t they do something so simple?

“So something did happen? Who is it? Who is bullying you?” Luo Huian asked with a frown on her face, her voice getting deep when she thought about how someone failed to listen to her commands when she had simply told them not to bully this woman. She didn’t even ask them to do rocket science! Or did she?

Luo Huian thought about it a little and realised that she had indeed not asked those fools to do anything too hard or something that they wouldn’t be able to understand, then why?

“No – no one is bullying me!” You Ruojin replied hurriedly. She was startled when she saw that Luo Huian was so quick in noticing something was amiss with her; while it made her touched that Luo Huian cared so much about her, at the same time, she became worried. Everyone in the company looked down on her because she came with Luo Huian’s recommendation; if she brought Luo Huian to do justice for her, then those gossipy people would certainly talk about Luo Huian as well and even say that she was bullying them by using her authority and position as the sister of the guild leader.

She couldn’t allow that to happen!

You Ruojin quickly hitched a bright smile and said to Luo Huian, “I learnt to cook some new dishes when you were not here. I will cook them for you, I won’t say that they are as good as Uncle Tian but they are certainly good!”

She then turned around on her feet and headed to the kitchen while avoiding Luo Huian’s eyes.

“What’s wrong with her?” Duan Jia Xu asked as he took off his shoes and followed the woman’s back that disappeared into the kitchen.

Luo Huian, on the other hand, simply sighed. She knew what You Ruojin was thinking and didn’t say anything since the woman was not asking for her help. Luo Huian knew that she couldn’t go out of her way to help her. That would be simply her overstepping the line. And Luo Huian was not fond of doing that.

She followed Duan Jia Xu inside the penthouse and looked around the entire space. There were blueprints scattered all over the place, and the tiny egg that You Ruojin was supposed to be taking care of was sitting in a portable egg incubator. One that could be carried anywhere. It was a good thing that You Ruojin had not given up but still –

This bastard is taking way too long to hatch. Should I just fry it up? Luo Huian thought while staring at the light yellow and green egg in front of her. No wonder You Ruojin was losing confidence; she promised her that this egg would hatch and help her learn knew skills and now? This thing was still not hatched!

She glared at the egg, which shivered under her gaze.

Sob, sob. Why was this woman glaring at him? It was not like he was not willing to hatch. It was because You Ruojin was still too weak and couldn’t withstand his immortal energy. That was the reason why he was waiting so long to hatch!

The egg wanted to cry ‘injustice’, but he couldn’t even do that until You Ruojin got stronger, so he could only sob in silence and hope that Luo Huian would not crack and fry him up.

“Calm down; there is no need for you to lose your temper.” Seeing that Luo Huian was losing her temper, Xiao Bai hurriedly placated her. The egg shivered once again.

Finally someone with a sane and stable head on her shoulders. Xiao Bai, I promise once I cultivate hard enough, I will repay your favours and kind words with my humanised body.

Luo Huian suddenly felt bad and Xiao Bai also felt bad. The two of them turned and looked at the egg and for some reason, this time even Xiao Bai wanted to kill the egg in the shell before it hatched.

However, after a short pause, she somehow managed to restrain herself. She certainly could not kill this familiar, as You Ruojin needed it!
