Capítulo 662: You don’t know her

“And why should I be scared of you?” Luo Huian asked with a frown. She glanced at the mer who was standing behind her and stated, “Aren’t you a human? In the end, even you have weaknesses that others can exploit, Mister Tian. Is there a reason for me to be scared of you?”

Tian Lisong tilted his head to one side. With his arms crossed in front, he looked at Luo Huian with a little smile playing on his lips. He said to her, “You know, Miss Luo, it seems like you are either too foolish or way too optimistic.”

“What do you mean—” Luo Huian began, but her eyes widened when she realised that the entire surroundings suddenly went quiet. She looked around and stared at the many mirrors that were surrounding her. It was only now that she realised that when she was not paying attention, Tian Lisong had silently trapped the two of them together.

Yuan Yuan jumped off her lap and hissed at the mer who smiled at her cordially. “There is no need for you to get angry. I mean no harm. Your master will be perfectly fine after I am done with her.”

He then turned to look at Luo Huian, who was staring at him warily. He said in a light voice, “What’s the matter? Are you upset that I locked you up? Don’t worry; I just wanted to talk with you for a while. There is something that I wish to speak to you about.”

“What is it?” Luo Huian asked. She didn’t make a move because she knew that the mer didn’t mean any harm to her. Tian Lisong had no intention of harming her; since that was the case, she was not going to bother trying to make a run for it.

“Earlier”, Tian Lisong stepped close to Luo Huian. “When I saw you in the Heavens Knights guild the last time, I knew that you were unaware of certain things. And now that I have seen you staying close with your sister, it seems like you are indeed unaware of a lot of things.”

Luo Huian frowned harder when the mer started talking in riddles like this. She stepped back and eyed him carefully. “And what is that supposed to mean?”

“Do you know what an S-class obsession means?” Tian Lisong asked.

“Obsession?” Luo Huian echoed, not understanding what the mer was even trying to say. She had indeed heard of this word many times, but she had no idea what the obsession of an S-class hunter even meant. This was her first time hearing something like this.

“I knew it,” Tian Lisong shook his head. With his fingers placed on the side of his forehead, he sighed. “If you knew that your sister had developed an obsession with you, you would have never stayed with her.” He opened his eyes partly and peered at the woman in front of him. “Or maybe you did know it somewhere in your heart because you did stay away from her for a few months.”

“I don’t understand what you are trying to say—”

Tian Lisong leaned in close. He softly whispered in her ears, “The obsession of an S-class hunter is like an anchor. One thing that can chain them down, but at the same time, what would happen if the anchor disappears? If the reins of the beast are released?” When Luo Huian didn’t say anything, Tian Lisong’s gaze flickered. “They will cause havoc. They will destroy everything that comes in their path. You might not be aware of this because I can see that you have never noticed anything amiss. But the way Leader Luo looks at you is really different. The way she looks at you is how a drowning man would look at his one and only life-saving straw.”

“I wonder if you are even aware of what might even happen if you were to step away from your sister.”

“I don’t think that she will hurt someone,” Luo Huian stated firmly. She had seen the way Luo Qingling treated others; she didn’t believe that the woman would be cruel enough to hurt someone.

Tian Lisong shrugged, looking indifferent. “And that’s where you are wrong. Your sister is not a little rabbit; she is a wolf. If she wishes to, she can easily rip apart people into bits and pieces. Not like she hadn’t already.”

Even though it had been so many years, Tian Lisong still could not forget the sight that he saw ages ago. When he was newly awakened, he was soon shifted and brought to the capital from the small temple where he grew up. His parents were given a lot of money in exchange, and those people didn’t even think twice before handing him over to the sponsors who wanted to take him away. The reason was simple. They had too many kids to take care of, and even after sending him to the temple where he was raised, it was not enough for them to feed their big family.

So they took the sponsorship money and sent him to the capital.

Back then, Tian Lisong didn’t know anything about the capital or anything related to the big city. When he arrived in the capital, he was dragged around by the elders of his guild, and he had to participate in numerous banquets. Not to mention, he was pushed to the position of the leader, but the truth was that he was just a puppet. He was asked to become the face of the guild and do the bidding of the elders. Because he was not skilled in running a guild, he followed the advice of the elders. And it was during one of these banquets that he met with Luo Qingling.

Back then, Luo Qingling had just started the guild, and it wasn’t at the top. What was more, she wanted to break free of the Luo family and the title of the heiress of the Luo corporation. Because of this, she was not using the Luo Family as her backup. Since no one knew that Luo Qingling belonged to the Luo family, she was taken lightly by not just one guild but many. It happened in the banquet as well; someone tried to take her down by showing off their skills and wealth. They even told her some fake and made-up benefits that might be given to her if she joined their guild. The result?

Luo Qingling beat that person up.

That was the first meeting between the two of them.

Tian Lisong knew that Luo Qingling was someone who was not going to let anyone suppress her. However, back then, even he didn’t know that the woman was related to the Luo family and thought that she was acting too foolishly. Who would refuse to join the big guilds and charge forward alone? In his eyes, Luo Qingling was young and stupid, and because she awakened too soon, she was filled with arrogance. A combination too deadly.

And he wasn’t even surprised when he heard the news of Luo Qingling getting kidnapped. After all, he knew that with the bold behaviour that she had shown, it was a matter of time for her to be caught and taught a lesson. However, when he heard that someone was actually thinking about killing her, even he couldn’t hold himself back. He rushed to the warehouse where they had kept Luo Qingling and immediately tried to rescue Luo Qingling.

But as he stepped past the warehouse, he realised that the woman never needed to be rescued.

Corpses—mutilated and torn lay inside the warehouse; those hunters who wanted to kill Luo Qingling were the ones who were killed, and in the end, those who survived? They were left to suffer in their final moments. Tian Lisong would never forget the gaze with which Luo Qingling had looked at him when she thought that the mer came to attack her as well. That woman would have killed him right away if he hadn’t been smart enough to tell her that he was there to save her.

“Later on, she swallowed every guild that resisted or tried to obstruct her. She was like a mad woman who wanted to ruin everything that came in her way,” said Tian Lisong. “It was only when you grew up a little that she restrained herself. I thought that it was because she was declared the heiress by her mother, but now I realise that it was due to you. You started fearing her, and Leader Luo didn’t want you to be scared of her. Thus, she controlled her temper.”

“Isn’t that a good thing?” Luo Huian questioned. If Luo Qingling was controlling her temper, then it meant that the woman was getting better. Why was this mer worried then?

As soon as she finished speaking, Tian Lisong burst out laughing. He raised his hand, curled his fingers around Luo Huian’s neck, and said to her, “No. Because if something happened to you —that woman will literally burn this world.”
