Chapter 1312: The Honored One

Over a thousand years ago, when the mystical lands of Yen-Lu were still ravaged by constant wars, a turning point emerged, one that would forever alter the world’s power balance.

During that time of chaos, war, and famine, a child was born on a battlefield surrounded by corpses. The child did all he could to survive.

No one would feed him, so he hunted on his own and satiated his hunger.

No one would clothe him, so he stole clothes from the corpses.

No one would teach him martial arts, so he emulated the warriors on the battlefield.

Just like that, he engaged in war as a mere child and survived countless bloody battles. The nameless boy, now a teenager, came across something that would change his life.

Magic!

But no one would teach him the arcane arts, so he forcefully extracted the mana from the air.

No one would teach him to cast spells, so he studied the Magi on the battlefield. Sometimes he would copy them, other times he would kill them and take their grimoires.

Days turned to months, and months turned to years. The nameless teenager, now a young man, became a Magus all on his own.

With all the bloody experiences he had accumulated on the battlefield, he created his own martial arts, his own mana extraction techniques, and his own magic spells.

Within one hundred years, the young man had become a Mana Core Magus!

He was a divine prodigy, the likes of which the world had never seen. Within a hundred years of being born, the nameless man reached the pinnacle of strength in his world.

Now, it was time to put his martial arts and magic spells to the test. So he went around the world and challenged other great warriors. He defeated them effortlessly, and within a few years, he became unrivaled.

But no one knew his name.

For no one had named him.

So he named himself…

Tian Di.

But soon, after conquering the mightiest of warriors, he grew bored. No one could stand up to him. No one was his equal. And so, for a brief period in time, he lost his way.

However, soon enough, he found something worth walking toward.

A new goal!

He wanted to rule the world. He wanted to become its law and order. Like his name suggested, he wanted to become the supreme authority.

To realize his goal, Tian Di knew that he would need powerful and brave warriors working for him, people who could bring peace to the war-torn lands of Yen-Lu.

And so, he united the largest factions in the realm and brought them together under his rule.

He called them…

The Nine Great Sects and Clans!

He gathered the martial arts, the magic scriptures, and the resources of all those powerful sects and clans under him. He absorbed all that precious knowledge and then perfected his own arcane arts. Thus, he reached even greater heights.

Soon, the world he had envisioned had come to pass.

He now ruled the world. He had become its law and order. He had become the supreme authority. He had become… the ruler of Yen-Lu.

After countless years of bloodshed and war, the realm finally knew peace.

However…

Tian Di grew bored again.

With no one to oppose him, no lands to conquer, and nothing to strive towards, he lost interest in all things.

Now, he needed a new goal.

He wanted to be… entertained.

And so, he hatched a new plan. It was a new goal to strive towards. It was sinister, but very entertaining.

With his high attainments in the School of Enchantment, he erased every memory of himself from the minds of all the people under his rule.

Then, he secretly gathered men and women with great potential. These were the untouchables of society, people who had been wronged in one way or another by none other than himself and the Nine Great Sects and Clans.

With an amused smile on his face, Tian Di taught these people martial arts. He taught them how to extract mana and wield magic spells.

As years passed by, these people grew into an elite force that could rival the Nine Great Sects and Clans!

Six powerful organizations were formed, and together they made up the Unorthodox Faction. And at the center of it all was none other than Tian Di.

But once again, he erased all memories of himself from the Magi of this new faction. Then, Tian Di slipped into the shadows, excited to watch how things would unfold.

The emergence of the Unorthodox Faction posed a serious threat to the Nine Great Sects and Clans. The former sowed chaos, death, and destruction wherever they went.

Because of the death and destruction they caused, the Nine Great Sects and Clans recruited countless other smaller sects and clans, thus forming the Arcane Alliance.

The Arcane Alliance united against a common threat that was the Unorthodox Faction.

And so, after years of peace, the lands of Yen-Lu welcomed strife once again.

This was the First Great War!

All the while, Tian Di remained in the shadows, manipulating both the Arcane Alliance and the Unorthodox Faction for his own amusement.

In time, he became the Hidden Ruler of Yen-Lu, and its people were reduced to nothing more than chess pieces on his board.

But now, someone had the audacity to interfere with his game…

And so, an example had to be made.

“Let this serve as a reminder,” Tian Di’s lips parted, and he muttered in an emotionless voice.

He hovered in the sky, looking down upon a city in the Haynam Empire, a strategic city confirmed to be of great importance to the Cult Leader.

Tian Di’s lips curled into a cold smirk. He raised his hand and proclaimed:

“Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one.”

And then…

He brought his hand down.

The world was engulfed in a brilliant light.

When the light faded, half the city had simply ceased to exist. Its streets were vaporized, the buildings were decimated, and entire districts were reduced to dust.

It was unknown how many had died. The number was too vast, too chilling, to put into words.

And when the dust finally settled… he was already gone.

This was the terror of the Hidden Ruler of Yen-Lu!
