Capítulo 485: Nothing Left to Steal

The city was in an uproar, and the area around the Teleportation Hall was a mess of shouting and clashing qi as fights kept breaking out.

“Move aside!” a pampered young man barked, shoving his way forward. “My father’s the captain of the city guards—let me through!”

“Anyone who blocks me today… remember it. I’ll come back for you,” he added with a nasty glare.

“Jump the line? Over my dead body!” a cultivator snapped, charging at him.

“Stop—stop fighting! You’ll damage the teleportation array!” a few people called out, rushing over in panic as the brawl grew.

“Idiots, all of you,” someone nearby muttered, stepping forward with killing intent rolling off him. “Keep this up and I’ll send you to the afterlife myself.”

Amid all the brawling, several of the Teleportation Hall’s arrays had already shut down.

That only trapped more people inside the city, turning them into easy targets for Lu Yi to rob later.

Watching the chaos unfold, Jiang Chen let out a quiet sigh. Heavenly Fate really knows how to stir trouble.

With a flick of his hand, a vast illusion swept over the entire city.

Right after, he opened a massive spatial passage leading straight into his Immortal Martial Mustard Seed.

To everyone else, that passage looked like a giant golden teleportation array—an incredible spell that only a top powerhouse from the Compassionate Sword Immortal Palace could’ve created.

“Stop fighting! The experts from the Compassionate Sword Immortal Palace are here to save us!” someone shouted, their excitement spreading through the crowd.

In an instant, the clashes across the city stopped. Everyone—bloodied, panicked, desperate—rushed toward the glowing spatial channel.

The entrance Jiang Chen created was far bigger than any ordinary teleportation array.

One after another, cultivators were pulled in, swallowed up like water drawn into a massive whale.

Within moments, the entire city stood empty.

Then the system messages rang out:

[Ding! Plot alteration detected! You have successfully weakened Protagonist Lu Yi’s opportunities. Lu Yi’s Heavenly Fate Value has decreased by 2,000 points!]

[Ding! You have earned 4,000 Villain Value points!]

Still holding the illusion in place, Jiang Chen stepped into the Teleportation Hall and released a group of Transcendence realm cultivators.

They gave him a respectful bow before scattering into different arrays, activating them one after another and teleporting out without delay.

From Lu Yi’s perspective, nothing seemed off. His divine sense still showed a city in chaos—cultivators screaming, shoving, fighting over limited spots in the arrays.

Soon, he finally arrived above the city.

Hovering high in the air, he narrowed his eyes, killing intent pouring out. “Listen up! Hand over everything you have, or I’ll wipe this city off the map!”

Not a single head turned.

Down below, the illusory cultivators kept clawing at each other for the teleportation arrays, completely ignoring him.

“Hm?” Lu Yi frowned, a sharp prickle of unease running through him.

He started to descend to check things himself—only for Jiang Chen’s illusion to slowly peel away, exposing the city below.

It was completely empty.

“What… what is this?” Lu Yi stared around in disbelief. “Was I just trapped in an illusion? Did everyone escape already?”

“Damn it! Someone tricked me!” His face twisted with fury, humiliation boiling in his chest.

A cultivator with Nirvana Cleansing–level combat strength—played like a fool.

“Who did this?” Lu Yi snarled, fists clenched so hard they trembled. He racked his brain, but couldn’t think of a single person who could cast an illusion that powerful.

After forcing himself to calm down, Lu Yi started piecing things together. The only person who made sense was that evil cultivator… but that guy had escaped with a space talisman last time.

“Wait… no.” His eyes widened. “The space talisman!”

He replayed the moment in his mind.

“Those talismans are rare treasures of the Compassionate Sword Immortal Palace—and they’re tiny. But the one he showed… sure, it looked mystical, but now that I think about it, it was way too flashy.”

On Prosperous Stone Immortal Star, a space talisman of that caliber simply shouldn’t exist, much less end up in the hands of some evil cultivator.

“That means he faked it with an illusion… and then used some other spatial method to run. The fake talisman was just bait so I wouldn’t chase him!”

“Damn it… cunning. Too cunning!”

The more he thought about it, the darker his expression grew, humiliation twisting deep inside him.

In the next breath, Lu Yi shot toward the Teleportation Hall.

But when he entered the hall, he froze. More than a dozen arrays lay before him—no clue which one the evil cultivator might’ve used.

“Fine. I’ll just pick one.” Lu Yi stepped onto the nearest array, formed a hand seal, and pushed his energy into it.

Nothing happened.

The array stayed dark and still.

Which meant the matching array on the other end had been destroyed.

“Damn it…” He grit his teeth and moved to the next one. Same result. Then another. Still nothing.

Every array was dead.

All of them had already been sabotaged by the Transcendence realm cultivators Jiang Chen released earlier. They didn’t even need to break anything themselves—just teleport over and shout, “The demon took over the teleportation array!”

That alone was enough to make the people on the other side panic and smash their array immediately.

In just a short time, every destination connected to this city had destroyed its corresponding teleportation array.

After trying several arrays with no success, Lu Yi finally accepted the truth—every single one of them had been crippled.

He spun around and shot into the sky, heading for the next nearest city.

But before he got far, his transmission jade token lit up.

He knew exactly who it was. Without thinking, he swept his divine sense over the message.

“Lu Yi! Where are you? The people from the Compassionate Sword Immortal Palace are getting close to Roaring River Martial City. Be careful.”

After reading it, he looked toward the city he was approaching. His speed slowed on its own.

Then the sight below shifted as if someone had pulled a veil away. The once-bustling city vanished, leaving behind another empty one.

“Another empty city?” His face tightened. “Is that evil cultivator targeting me again?”

He stopped completely.

If this place was also empty, then its teleportation arrays were likely destroyed too. That guy clearly wasn’t going to give him any chance to chase or catch up.

Staying here will only waste time. I need to get as far away as possible, fast.

He clenched his fist and abandoned the plan of actively seeking cities to rob. Instead, he bolted into the distance.

If he happened to run into a city on the way, he’d rob it only if the chance came naturally.
