Capítulo 991: More Talents
Shane couldn’t imagine himself having two heads… Now, with this four-armed talent, he realized that it might actually be more usable.
After all, two heads with only two arms would have a lot of complications.
However, if the heads have two hands that they could control for each of them, it might be a lot better.
Of course, he was still unwilling to use this talent.
Shane then continued checking the possible effects it could give to the Survivor.
‘Four arms, huh…’
[ Effects:
– Gain +40% Attack Speed when dual-wielding or using multiple weapons.
– Can wield up to four weapons/tools simultaneously.
– Casting speed increased by 25% when channeling multiple skills. ]
[ Passive: Multi‑Grip – Reduces disarm chance by 50%. ]
[ Passive: Unique Coordination – Allows independent arm movement, enabling complex maneuvers and simultaneous actions. ]
[ Drawback: Mutation is irreversible. Extra limbs are visible and may cause social rejection, paranoia, or difficulty fitting into armor. ]
“Wow… It’s even concerned about me getting social rejection.” Shane wryly smiled after reading through the Drawback notes.
Still, he couldn’t help but feel curious if this would help someone regrow their missing limbs.
In any case, Shane scrolled through his inventory again and checked the other Talent Scrolls he obtained.
The second one was another Two-Headed Talent Scroll.
“Seriously? Another one? What am I supposed to do, start a collection of cursed scrolls? Maybe I’ll auction them off as gag prizes.”
Unfortunately, he looted a two-headed and four-armed Zombie Lord called Ogre, so it was really not that surprising to get these Talents.
The third was yet another Four‑Arm Talent Scroll. Shane rubbed his chin.
Including the kill reward, he now had a total of two Four-Arm Talent and two Two-Headed Talent Scrolls.
“Four arms again… I guess the Ogre really wanted to spread its freakish legacy. The combat potential is insane, but the drawbacks are just as bad. Armor issues, social rejection, paranoia… yeah, not exactly something people line up for. Still, I can’t deny that if someone actually takes this, they’d be terrifying in battle.”
Then, his eyes landed on the fourth scroll. This one was different.
[ Item: Abnormal Regeneration Talent Scroll ]
[ Grade: Epic Talent ]
[ Description: Grants the user enhanced regenerative abilities modeled after mutated Aegis tissue. Wounds heal rapidly, broken bones mend within minutes, and stamina recovers faster. However, the mutation alters cellular structure, making the user more susceptible to fire and corrosive damage. ]
[ Effects:
– Passive: Abnormal Healing – Restores 2% Vitality per second when below 50% health.
– Passive: Flesh Renewal – Minor wounds close instantly; major wounds heal within minutes.
– +30% Stamina Recovery Rate. ]
[ Drawback: Cellular mutation increases vulnerability to fire and corrosive damage by 25%. Prolonged use may cause visible changes to skin texture. ]
Shane couldn’t help but feel excited about this.
“Now this… this is actually useful. Survivors would kill for regeneration like this. But the drawbacks are nasty… fire and acid are already common threats. Still, I can see someone desperate enough to take it.”
Although there was a negative effect that makes one vulnerable to fire and corrosive damage, it wouldn’t actually be that bad if this were a third or fourth talent.
Finally, he opened the fifth scroll…
He was already quite hopeful since the Abnormal Regeneration Talent was already quite good. He was only hoping that it was not another mutation like the two-headed or four-armed talents.
[ Item: Third‑Eye Talent Scroll ]
[ Grade: Epic Talent ]
[ Description: Grants the user an additional eye on the forehead. The third eye enhances perception, spiritual awareness, and detection of hidden energies. It allows the user to see through illusions, sense hostile intent, and perceive energy flows directly. The mutation is permanent and alters the user’s appearance. ]
[ Effects:
– Gain +50% Perception and Awareness.
– Passive: True Sight – Reveals spirit or any mystical energy, traps, and hidden enchantments. It also detects stealth, invisibility, and illusion-based concealment.
– Passive: Foresight Glimpse – Grants brief precognition (1 second) when a lethal strike is imminent.
– +20% Spirit Recovery Rate. ]
[ Drawback: Mutation is irreversible. The third eye is visible and may cause fear, distrust, or alienation among allies. Prolonged use may lead to sensory overload. ]
Shane blinked, staring at the description. “…An eye on the forehead? That’s… creepy. Useful, sure, but creepy.”
He rubbed his chin, imagining himself with a glowing third eye.
“Perception boost, spirit energy sight, foresight… this is actually insane for detection. But walking around with an extra eye? I guess it’s not too difficult to hide if not needed. But I’d look like some cult leader or aberrant mutant.”
He sighed and stored the scroll back into his inventory. “Still, I can’t deny how strong this is. Stealth detection, illusion piercing… this could save lives. But socially? No one probably wants to follow a guy with three eyes staring at them.”
They might even fail to enter any Neutral Shelters since people might think that he had mutated through some kind of virus…
Shane smirked faintly. “Maybe I’ll keep this one hidden. If someone in the Clan is desperate enough for power, they can take it.”
As for him, he decided to stick with two eyes…

After that, Shae turned to the notification he had ignored for some time. It was the notification for eliminating the King Zombie. Since the members of the Overlord Clan had arrived as soon as he killed it, he didn’t have the time to check it out until now.
[ You have eliminated a Hammer Sea King Zombie. ]
[ Congratulations! You are the first to eliminate Hammer Sea King Zombie, a high-tier zombie! ]
[ Hint: Only the first elimination of each Mid-Tier and above can provide special rewards! ]
[ You can select two rewards: 3 Double Experience Potions, 500 Zombie Cores, 3 Random Rare Gift Packs, 2 Gold Treasure Chests. ]
Shane didn’t think for long and selected the 3 Double Experience Potions and the 3 Random Rare Gift Packs.
After securing the rewards, Shane finally turned to the massive corpse of the Zombie King…
Unlike the Lord‑tier Ogre, the King had not disintegrated into a crystal. Its body remained intact, waiting to be harvested.
The system prompt appeared as he approached it.
[ Do you want to retrieve the loot? ]
Shane confirmed.
