Capítulo 984: Hunted

Fiona sat comfortably on her cushion… Seeing Shane’s reaction, she couldn’t help but smirk…

“That’s right… It’s the Overlord Clan. As you know, I hate them. Every time I hear their name, I remember the way they hunted me before. Messing with their members will definitely make me feel better.”

Shane chuckled since he obviously had the same sentiment after they messed with his Silver Mine Camp… “Good. Then we’re of one mind.”

He then considered what to do and asked, “Tell me more about this guy. How did you learn that the owner of the fishing zone was from the Overlord Clan?”

Fiona’s grin widened. She tapped her temple proudly.

“My elite rats, of course. They’re stealthier than most people realize. I’ve trained them to slip through cracks, crawl under doors, even swim across currents. They moved to where no one expects them. They can listen, observe, and return with everything I need.”

Her eyes shone with pride as she continued. “One of them followed the fishermen back to their shelter house. It overheard their talk… mentioning their leaders, their route, and the Overlord Clan’s new allies… Right, they also mentioned how they were stockpiling fish before transporting them to their main base. My rats even mapped the shoreline. They’re amazing swimmers, Shane. Better than most scouts you could send.”

Shane nodded slowly, impressed.

“If that’s the case, then it’s settled. Make Vasco build more fishing boats. I will claim that land now.”

Fiona’s smile faltered, her eyes widening in shock. “You alone?”

Of course, she was also shocked that Shane was already planning to have new fishing boats for a territory they hadn’t claimed yet.

Nonetheless, she was more surprised that he would go there alone!

“Shane, there should be around twelve other high-level members of the Overlord Clan stationed there. They’ve built a small shelter house to collect the fish before sending them off. It’s fortified, guarded, and they won’t hesitate to kill anyone who trespasses.”

Shane only smiled, clearly unbothered by the warning… “I can deal with them.”

Fiona stared at him, speechless. She knew Shane was strong, but his confidence was absolute.

She wasn’t aware of it, but Shane was already at max level. The only reason he hadn’t been moving alone before was that he wanted others to gain experience points he no longer needed.

“When will you make your move? Shouldn’t you scout first?” Fiona asked quietly, almost hesitantly.

Shane’s smile deepened… “There’s no need. I will move later tonight.”

Fiona shivered slightly… It seemed that the Clan Leader would really get serious if the Overlord Clan was involved.

Just like that, the two talked more about the location of the small shelter and the fishing zone and after a few more minutes, he finally felt satisfied…

“My rats would be there… If you need help, I can come for you at any time.”

“That’s reassuring to hear.”

Shane then turned toward the door with his cloak brushing against the floor. “Prepare Vasco. By the time dawn comes, that fishing zone will belong to Blue Haven.”

Fiona watched him leave… Then, her rats were already scattering to relay the message.

A thrill coursed through her… There was fear, excitement, and satisfaction all at once. The Overlord Clan thought they had secured the sea’s bounty, but tonight, Shane would remind them why Blue Haven’s leader was feared.

***

Shane left the shelter under the cover of dusk, fully equipped with his Calamity Set.

He had the complete set worn, so both the 3-Piece Effect and 5-Piece Effect were activated.

[ 3-Piece Bonus Effect:

Effects: Gain +20% Agility, +10% Critical Rate, and +15% Attack Speed.

Grants Aerial Adaptation: Reduce the stamina cost of airborne maneuvers and fall-recovery time.

Successful attacks while mid-air temporarily increase damage dealt by 5% per strike (up to 5 stacks). ]

[ 5-Piece Bonus Effect:

Active Skill:

Winged Descent: Leap high into the air and slam into the ground with explosive force, dealing wide area damage.

Passive Skill:

Ashen Domain: Enemies within 10m suffer reduced healing, –10% armor, and are more vulnerable to burn and fear effects. ]

Then, his Slime was also with him, so the crushing blows of King-tier monsters were nothing to him at this point…

Just like that, Shane hurried as his cloak trailed behind while he moved south, toward the shoreline where Fiona’s rats had reported sightings.

The air grew colder as he approached the coast.

It was actually quite refreshing moving during he night… Waves crashed against rocks, and the scent of seawater lingered in the wind.

Shane soon found a vantage point on an elevation overlooking the sea, with his eyes scanning the horizon.

Apparently, the location of the Overlord Clan’s small shelter was a bit far… So, Shane decided to hunt the Sea King Zombie first since he would pass through the area where the old merchant mentioned it would come from time to time.

Of course, if the Sea King Zombie did not come ashore, he wouldn’t be able to eliminate it. Fighting underwater was suicide, even for him. But he planned to only wait for maybe 2 or 3 hours…

If the Zombie didn’t appear, then he’d just try next time or have Fiona monitor the place until it appeared.

Just like that, Shane patiently waited under the cover of the darkness, and he even opted to wear a Zombie Mask to ensure that the Zombies nearby wouldn’t be alerted by his presence and startle the Sea King Zombie.

After all, he believed that this King Zombie would be scared if it realized that it was being hunted.

Two hours passed.

The moon climbed higher, casting silver light across the restless waves. Shane remained still with his hand resting on the hilt of his weapon…

Then, as he was considering that it might be time to leave, a massive shadow rose from the depths of the sea!

Shane then saw tentacles thrashing against the tide.

‘Whoa~ It really came…’

The Sea King Zombie emerged, dragging its outrageous form onto the shore.

‘That must be it…’ Shane mused as he saw its hammerhead skull with eyes glowing red, and its bloated torso that would bounce at every step…

But Shane noticed something immediately… Its movements were sluggish, and it was actually bleeding!

It was injured!

Scars crisscrossed its scaled body, and several tentacles hung limp… As a matter of fact, half of the tentacles were severed!

“Hmm? Is it being hunted in the sea? What’s going on? Is there a territorial battle against zombies as well?”
