Chapter 931: Finding a New Spot and Store

Chaloem’s physique, aura, and overall presence were simply too reliable.

Seeing him in front, everyone immediately felt safe with the radiant aura surrounding him.

As a Shark Zombie lunged at him, he raised his palm, glowing faintly with a golden aura, and struck.

Bam!

The zombie’s chest caved in instantly. Its insides ruptured from the force, and it collapsed without a sound.

Although Chaloem was only an Epic Recruit, in terms of strength, he could equal every Legendary Recruit as well.

Then, another came from the side. Chaloem just turned with his foot sliding across the ground and delivered a second palm strike to the creature’s throat.

Bam!

The aura surged through the zombie’s body, bursting its spine from within!

He was simply unstoppable, and that was one of the reasons why Sandra had begged this monk to join her.

‘Awesome… Although I promised to listen to his lecture every day, I don’t regret bringing him in.’ Sandra thought as she saw how useful the monk was…

“His aura’s disrupting their internal structure,” Bon observed. “It’s bypassing their physical resistance. That’s cool.”

Bon couldn’t use Aura or even learn how to use it with his body that was mostly machine… That was why he couldn’t help but envy the sight of Aura being used to slaughter these Zombies so easily.

It just looked so easy for Chaloem…

Nonetheless, he also had his own tricks, as his shooting precision and ability to find weak spots were still irreplaceable.

“I’ll take care of those…” Chaloem announced as he saw three more Shark Zombies charging together…

Chaloem didn’t even flinch as he stepped into their path to block their advance. One palm to the chest. One to the side of the head. One to the abdomen.

It happened so quickly, but each strike landed perfectly in their vital parts, and each zombie dropped, their bodies twitching before going still.

[ You have eliminated a Shark Zombie. ]

Even the Net Hauler Zombies hesitated seeing this. They weren’t perfect Zombies after all. They were more like a mutated aquatic creature with some characteristics of a Zombie.

“Damn,” Liam muttered. “He’s really a super strong monk…”

Although Chaloem was also operating in Spring Springriver most of the time, they weren’t working together, and this was their first time seeing the monk after many months.

Liam couldn’t help but feel that even with his Berserker Talent, he would not be able to win against the monk…

Soon, Eudora reinforced the ground beneath Chaloem, creating a dry platform as more aquatic undead surged forward. “Keep him centered. He’s our vanguard…”

Sandra assisted, picking off stragglers with precise arrows.

Lysandra, on the other hand, moved through the shallows like a shadow, severing limbs and disabling threats before they could regroup.

But it was Chaloem who turned the tide.

His aura would create a shockwave from time to time, disrupting the coordination of the zombies. Their movements slowed. Their aggression halted, and one by one, they fell to his crushing palm strikes.

By the time the last Shark Zombie collapsed, the shallow water was still again.

Bon scanned the area and felt satisfied with the result.

“All targets neutralized. No further undead detected within range. Still, I don’t think we can use this town for a new base. The lake is obviously contaminated. Building a new shelter here is not a good idea.”

Eudora, the elf, also nodded at this but she reminded Bon what they could do.

“That’s true… It might be possible to find a better area with a larger lake. Still, if we wanted this place, we could actually purify the lake. You may not be aware of it, but Sir Shane recruited a powerful Elven Guardian. Her name’s Serenya, and she always stays in the Floating Fortress. With her power alone, purifying this lake would only take three or four days at most.”

Bon was shocked as he immediately compiled this data.

“I didn’t know about that. Thank you for letting me know. The elves are more impressive than I thought.” He replied.

At this time, Sandra landed beside Chaloem, who was already kneeling in quiet meditation while his hands were resting on his knees.

Aura wasn’t easily recovered, and the best method was only through meditation.

“You good?” she asked.

Chaloem opened one eye and nodded. “In terms of muscles and skin, they’re a lot tougher than Tyrant Zombies. Luckily, their power is focused too much on their biting force.”

Jake exhaled, wiping blood from his gauntlet. “MVP goes to the monk.”

Chris grinned. “No argument here.”

Lysandra sheathed her blade and started looting the Zombies with the others…

[ You have earned 140 Experience Points. ]

[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x2, Zombie Core x10, 200mL Water, Shark Meat ( Unsafe ) x1, Lung Purification Elixir x1. ]

“Hmm… That’s bad…” Lysandra muttered as she looted one more.

[ You have earned 140 Experience Points. ]

[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x1, Zombie Core x15, 200mL Water, Cold Iron Ingot x5, 100mL of Shark Zombie Blood, Spirit Enhancement Bottle x2 ]

“W-wait… What?” Lysandra paused for a moment as she saw the Cold Iron Ingot being looted.

After all, it had always been the Steel Zombies, or anything related to them, that could drop those ingots!

This was her first time seeing Cold Iron Ingot aside from Steel Zombies!

“What happened?” Bon asked.

“Ahh… Well, these Zombies can actually drop Cold Iron Ingot. Shane will be ecstatic if he learned about this.” Lysandra replied as she knew what Shane wanted most of the time.

Shane might send a large subjugation force to loot these precious types of ingots for his own army. It may not be enough to convince Shane to create a settlement here, but it was enough to make him interested.

After everyone looted the Shark Zombies and a few Net Hauler Zombies, they finally shifted their attention.

“Let’s secure the hydro station and mark this place. It might be worth converting.”

Sandra looked out over the flooded town, the lake glistening under the afternoon sun.

“Rivershade might still have a future…” she said. “Let’s just wait for Shane’s decision.”

And with that, the Vanguard Wing moved to secure the ruins…

In the meantime, Shane’s morning started differently, after confirming there were no urgent matters to address, he sat down in his command room within the Eclipse Domain and opened his system’s Survivor Store.

Three tabs appeared:

Weapons Store | Nourishment Store | Miscellaneous Store

He tapped the Weapons Store first.

[ Echo Repeater Pistol (Uncommon): A compact sidearm with a double-shot mechanism. Fires two rounds in rapid succession with increased accuracy at close range.

Price: 55 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 12 ]

[ Thunder Fang Blade (Rare): A lightweight curved sword infused with static charge. Each slash builds up voltage, releasing a burst of electricity after three consecutive hits.

Price: 120 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 3 ]

“Good for agile fighters. I don’t need it, but since it’s cheap… Might as well.” Shane mused as he purchased the item.

[ Frostbite Mines (Rare): Deployable mines that detonate with a chilling blast, slowing enemies and reducing their reaction speed for 10 seconds.

Price: 105 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 10 ]

[ Bone Piercer Javelin (Exceptional): A long-range throwing weapon designed to penetrate armored targets. Has a chance to ignore physical defense when thrown with full force.

Price: 280 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 4 ]

“Perfect for Gladiators in open terrain… Or any Super Soldiers.” Shane mused as he purchased four of them as well.

[ Ember Coil Whip (Exceptional) ]

A flexible weapon that heats up with each strike. Can ignite targets after five consecutive hits.

Price: 290 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 3 ]

“A whip, huh… Who uses this kind of weapon?” Shane mused as he felt like this item wouldn’t be wanted even if he put it in the Clan’s Reward Items.

Nonetheless, it was a unique item that had a decent stat. He might as well purchase it and let the others decide whether they wanted it or not.

Finally, Shane checked the 7-day only Weapon that could be purchased in the store.

[ Phoenix’s Flame Dagger ( Epic ): A crimson-bladed dagger with the essence of a phoenix. Each strike from the blade can ignite enemies, dealing burn damage over time and reducing their regeneration abilities. The dagger can unleash a fire explosion once per day.

Availability: 7 Days Only

Price: 3,100 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 1/1 ]

“Phoenix’s Flame Dagger, huh… Alright. You’re quite expensive, but you must be worth that much.” Shane mused as he looked at the other 7-day only item, which was a familiar Eclipse Blade that he had before.

***

Satisfied with the purchases he had done in the weapons tab, Shane moved on to the Nourishment Store.

[ Ironroot Survival Biscuits: Biscuits made from ironroot flour. Restores stamina and grants temporary resistance to blunt force trauma.

Price: 8 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 60 ]

[ Emberfruit Tonic: A spicy drink brewed from emberfruit pulp. Boosts Spirit Energy regeneration and slightly increases reaction speed for 30 minutes.

Price: 12 Zombie Cores

Quantity: 25 ]

Shane swiftly browsed through the items on sale. They were quite repetitive. There was nothing new from the store, but as soon as he saw the 7-day-only item that was being sold, he immediately knew that he had to buy it!
