Chapter 814: Elf Recruitment Stones

Shane couldn’t help but feel excited as he imagined this hangar filled with Mech Frames soon.

However, it was simply too difficult at the moment.

After all, his Mech Frames don’t have the flight technology yet. He could probably develop a drop system that could parachute them to the ground, but he felt that it would not be highly effective in the long term.

He believed that it would be much better if he spent his money or resources to rebuild the broken float engine he bought at the auction…

With the technology that he could purchase in the Anima Store, he believed that it would be possible, considering his Otherworldly Talent, should be enough to work on this project.

“This place looks good…” Tundra muttered as he also imagined that this place would soon be filled with Warden Units…

Then, as he looked around, he noticed that there were also smaller drones, about the size of motorcycles, waiting to be given instructions.

They seemed to be machinery that could help the engineers who would be working in this place someday…

Clearly, the fortress was not limited to stationary defense, it could launch entire strike squads with this Hangar.

“With this… I’m sure that we’ve already achieved sky superiority…” Lysandra whispered, almost reverently.

“Do you want to conquer other Shelters?” Raze teased.

Shane said nothing, but he knew that with this fortress, they could definitely be considered invincible in the sky.

As they moved deeper, they appreciated the place more and more…

They also liked how modern or advanced it was…

After all, doors would slide open automatically, and the lights would be adjusted too, without any given command…

Half an hour later, when they finished looking around the place, they finally visited the Command Headquarters, and Shane decided to check the central chamber.

***

When the doors parted with a hiss of pressurized air, Shane led the way inside.

The chamber was vast but functional, built more like a warship’s bridge…

It was something he was familiar with when he was still sabotaging spaceships and other alien ships during the A.I. Rebellion.

There were several stations lined up on either side of the room.

They could also see some blue-white projection screens displaying energy reserves, weapon statuses, and radar sweeps of the surrounding airspace.

Then, at the far end stood the command seat that was slightly elevated…

From that position, the commander could see different reports about the defense turrets, artillery calibration, shield strength, hangar capacity, and personnel quarters.

It was an interesting sight.

Shane stepped forward, placing his hand against a biometric scanner on the chair.

The system recognized him immediately.

[ Authority Confirmed. Commander Shane: Primary Access Granted. ]

‘Interesting… It really recorded everything about me after I unsealed this thing from the bottle.’ Shane mused.

Soon, he got more details about the Floating Fortress, they were something that was not listed in the System Interface that was granted to him.

He now had more details about the weapon emplacements, shield sectors, and even each building’s status.

There was nothing mystical about it. Just advanced technology with faint traces of arcane engineering…

Raze couldn’t help but look around as she felt that the place had become. “Now this… this feels like a real fortress.”

Tundra nodded as he really liked this…

“Yeah. It was worth the price. For seven hundred thousand points, this is worth it. No… I think you even bought it cheaply…”

“That’s true… I wouldn’t be surprised if this was sold for more than a million.” Lysandra muttered.

Thankfully, merging points weren’t allowed in the auction once they had arrived in that place. Thanks to that, there weren’t a lot of survivors who could compete against Shane.

In the meantime, Shane explored the interfaces, testing the functions of the Fortress.

He was rerouting power between the shields and turrets, checking the Spirit Cannon’s calibration, even simulating a patrol pattern for the fortress’s hovering mode.

Just like that, he confirmed that everything responded to his commands almost without delay, confirming this was no simple construct. ‘This is really a well-made fortress…’

After making several adjustments and ensuring the fortress’s defenses were in prime condition, Shane was finally satisfied.

But there was still one more matter.

“I wonder… Will my recruits appear here inside the fortress?” Shane mused.

From his inventory, Shane retrieved a cluster of shining stones.

They were none other than the gifts he received from the Admin.

[ Epic Elf Recruitment Stones ×30 ]

[ Legendary Elf Recruitment Stones ×5 ]

He studied them for a moment. “Let’s start with the thirty Epics…”

Shane then started with the activation, and just like before, the mysterious gray fog had also appeared!

This time, however, instead of sending it away from his territory, the fog had actually entered the Floating Fortress, and the summons had arrived in the reception hall!

Shane and the others immediately ran towards the reception hall as they wanted to welcome the new arrivals.

One by one, the elves stepped forth…

Each one was tall, graceful, and armored in equipment that gleamed with sophisticated craftsmanship.

Indeed, as Epic Recruits, they had better equipment compared to the Normal Elves he had recruited before.

They only looked around for a moment, and when they sensed Shane’s presence, they immediately understood what was going on.

The thirty Epic-ranked elves dropped to one knee in unison…

“We heed the call of our Commander, the Blessed of the Fairy Queen…”

Even Raze and Lysandra fell silent for a moment, impressed by the sheer coordination.

They also looked at Shane as they were sure that he was the Blessed of the Fairy Queen.

“Hey… What’s really your talent? For real… Did you get the Fairy Queen’s Son Talent or something?” Raze asked as she had been curious about this for a long time.

However, Shane didn’t answer and just turned to the Elves.

He immediately asked a few questions and confirmed their professions.

They were 10 Marksmen who were longbow specialists, 10 Bladesingers or agile swordsmen, and 10 Warriors equipped with kite shields and spears.

“Not a bad composition for the first residents of this fortress.” Shane muttered as he turned to his five legendary Elf Recruitment Stones.
