Genetic Ascension - Chapter 1738
Capítulo 1738: Escape of the Bandit [Bonus]
“How will he escape?”
The question was like a roaring echo in Fanelei’s ears. It was a question she didn’t have the answer to.
On the one hand, she had already made it quite clear that she wasn’t responsible for sending Sylas there, and he was a bit of a wild card. But on the other hand, it seemed that now her fellow Ancestors were even more anxious than she was.
Clearly, because of her words, they had already taken Sylas to be one of their own. But they also knew that this would come with a great deal of problems as well.
How were they going to deal with the Karmic fallout? Would the Thryskai blame them?
These thoughts were contradictory and swaying them left and right.
On the one hand, a lot of the Karma was now concentrated on Sylas himself. He had to return for them to benefit the most. Maybe if he failed to, they wouldn’t have to worry about the fury of the Thryskai, as it wouldn’t be enough for them to become Demi-Gods.
But on the other hand, they didn’t want Sylas to die. How difficult was it to find a talent like this? They weren’t sure that they could name anyone beneath the Demi-God Realms that was on his level—at least there was no Mortal that wasn’t also a Thryskai.
He felt a whole world away from them all.
“… I don’t know,” Fanelei finally said. It was the only answer she could give.
None of them could see what had just happened. There were no projections with the Quicktime Event being over. Though they had their own methods of monitoring what was happening, the Seeing Eye Guild would definitely go on complete shutdown very soon. There was no point in even trying.
…
Sylas’ gaze flickered. He looked up to find a dome of Runes forming overhead. It seemed he wasn’t fast enough to slip out, but even if he had been, he knew that he would have just been painting a target on his back.
Considering how mad Ancestor Entrim was, she might just start shooting down everyone she saw.
He slipped into a building and down into an underground bunker.
On a central planet like this one, there weren’t any wilderness areas. Situations like on Earth, where there would be large, unexplored areas, simply didn’t happen. The warriors here were too powerful, and their technology too advanced. Not only had they scoped out every bit of land, they had also done the same for every bit of ocean and water.
There wasn’t a single location on this planet that hadn’t been maximized by use. Solar, wind, hydro—it was all perfectly utilized, even down to the gravity itself and the energy from the stars beyond.
That was all to say that…
There was nowhere to hide.
So the question remained… how would he escape?
[Earth Escape].
Sylas vanished into the floors amidst the commotion. Not a single soul trying to get out of the way of the destructive A-tier had the mind to notice the disappearance of a single human.
…
Sylas shuttled through the ground, finding his stamina waning quickly. Everything seemed more difficult in a more powerful world. It had only been a few seconds and he already felt like he was about to collapse.
Luckily, he had comprehended the E-grade Scorpion Warlord Armor to Spark Mastery. Otherwise, he would have already tapped out.
And… he was already close to his destination.
Sylas popped out of the ground, his body coated in sweat.
The chaos in the city was only growing as the echoes of Ancestor Entrim’s roars continued to fill the skies, but Sylas was so focused it was like he didn’t hear any of it at all.
He looked up toward an unassuming building. That wasn’t to say it was bland or unimpressive—at least not by Sylas’ usual standards—but instead because there were many others nearby just like it.
Sylas was about to walk inside when a voice he had never heard entered his ears.
“A bit early, don’t you think?”
Sylas didn’t need to have heard the voice before to know exactly who it was.
The Purvon Clan young master.
Sylas didn’t respond immediately, but his steps did pause, his eyes narrowing.
“Your plan isn’t bad. You are correct. If I save you right now, you’ll owe me a great deal of Karma because I am your only path out. Because of that exchange, much of what you’ve gained for the Weaver Guild will be mine, thus avoiding the catastrophe of my efforts of the last several decades being wasted.
“Very true, very true indeed.”
Sylas could practically feel the Purvon Clan young master nodding.
“I’m even more surprised that you managed to find my building so precisely. How is that? Ah, I get it, you used the system, did you not? Fascinating, indeed. One of my servants did tell me that you are a Serpent—your Scorned Wraps must be quite advanced.”
The meaning behind the Purvon Clan heir’s use of “Serpent” clearly held a completely different weight than usual. But it was hard to tell if he was trying to avoid using the term Madness Disciple on purpose, or if he was simply trying to be mysterious.
Even so, Sylas didn’t react very fiercely at all to the fact that the Purvon Clan Heir knew this. One would have thought he was talking about the color of his eyes. It was like he didn’t know just how dangerous it was for the Purvon Clan Heir to know this about him.
“But you see, you’re also quite dangerous. As much as I’d like to help you out right this moment, something tells me that if I do things on your timeline, I’ll suffer another loss. I’m not very used to things like this, you see.” The Purvon Clan young heir chuckled. “So let’s play a bit of a game, shall we?”
Sylas’ eyes narrowed.
