Capítulo 1730: Event Evolution [Bonus]

[Bonus chapter thanks to Chronotitan. I would insult you, but I know you won’t be kissing anyone when the clock strikes midnight on new years and that’s punishment enough]

The Seeing Eye Guild rumbled. Illusory chains appeared around the core Runes that formed their internal system, the wobbling changes and shifting links sparking flames that made them scream as though they were truly living, breathing beings.

Salivar’s Will was in a limbo, being rapidly filled with energy as it was reconstructed. Soon, he would appear once again within the battlefield and have his revenge.

But at that moment, the bridge connecting himself and the outside world shuddered, nearly shattering.

He was quite lucky. Right at this moment, Sylas could have killed him. All it would have taken was severing the connection entirely.

However, Sylas didn’t want to take the risk. If Salivar died like this, it might not be a win that was credited to him. That was because he was using the Scorned Wraps right now. By definition, the system wasn’t able to sense what he was doing.

Meaning, if he used these means to kill Salivar, he would be out his only chance to kill a Cryst Emperor.

According to Fanelei, all of the other Cryst Emperors of the Seeing Eye Guild were well beyond the E-tier. Sylas might have quite a bad luck streak on him, but the fact Salivar was only Level 51 was actually a huge boon to him.

There weren’t going to be any other Cryst Emperors just lying around within his means to kill personally.

So not only could he not kill Salivar like this, he had to protect him enough to ensure that he didn’t die…

But that certainly didn’t mean that Sylas was going to let him come out unscathed.

BOOM.

[Quicktime Event Evolution Triggered]

[Clash of Titans]

[Level Recommended: 50]

[Description: Legacy Disciple Sylas Grimblade of Legend Fanelei of the Analei Clan has snuck into your territory, seeking to test the geniuses of the Seeing Eye Guild. He believes himself to be greater, superior in all aspects. Doctrines of Will and Intelligence don’t seem to differ to him at all. Even inexperienced in the way of the Seeing Eye, and lacking your Profession, he seeks a challenge nonetheless.

[To say that the Karma and face of the Seeing Eye Guild is on the line would be nothing but the sheer core and definition of an understatement. Stop him from trampling over the Pride of your Guild—]

The screen glitched at that line, changing and swirling until a new set of lines appeared beneath it.

[Quicktime Event Evolution Triggered]

[Clash of Titans]

[Level Recommended: 100]

[You have failed to protect the Pride of your Guild, but Sylas Grimblade is a man of insatiable greed. The lion’s share is a term used for the head of a pack, the alpha of a group. He’s taken said lion’s share and he wants more.]

[To have already trampled over the Pride of your Cryst Emperors, and yet ask to face an even stronger enemy… how will your Seeing Eye Guild respond?]

[Event Type: Karmic Chaos][Clear Requirements]>[Defeat Sylas Grimblade]

The new screen sent spectators into a complete and utter frenzy. But before they could even take action, the screen glitched again.

These glitches were very different from the ones that Sylas had experienced during Earth’s Summoning. These glitches were very much made by an aware system. The swirling changes were it taking part in the backend of the Event in real time, changing its communication methods and decisions right before all of their eyes.

And the result of this one was completely outside their expectations.

[Quicktime Event Evolution Triggered]

[Clash of Titans]

[Level Recommended: 51]

[Cheating death and overcoming the odds, Cryst Emperor Salivar Entrim has returned from the dead to reclaim what is his. Without a single pause and without care for his own life, he has entered the battlefield once more to face Sylas Grimblade.]

[Event Type: Karmic Chaos]

[Clear Requirements]

>[Defeat Sylas Grimblade]

By this point, it felt like the name Sylas Grimblade was becoming mythical. From a name that no one knew, it was being evoked by the system as though a tall tale parents told their children to make them behave.

If anything, it felt like the system was speaking to them like children, and there was little the once mighty Seeing Eye Guild could do but clench their fists.

But when the screen opened up to them again, their hearts couldn’t help but sink to rock bottom.

…

Salivar was a complete mess. Only half of his body seemed to have formed at all. His brain was hanging out from his skull, his intestines spilling out from beneath his ribcage, and he was balancing on just a singular leg.

His haggard breathing came with the erratic beating of his heart, an erratic beating that could be very clearly seen with the naked eye through the very same ribcage.

He looked as though something had completely shredded half his body of any connective tissue. And yet, while everyone else was gasping in shock and feeling their hearts plummet, Sylas’ own eyes had narrowed.

Everyone else saw a man who was on his last legs. Sylas, though, saw a man who had successfully reformed all of his most important organs. All he was missing now was muscle, sinew, and bones.

It seemed that he had been a step slow. That was unfortunate.

No, he wasn’t slow. Salivar had just reacted quickly enough, and he seemed to understand his own body enough to know exactly how to divert the healing to the right parts of his body.

In fact, he didn’t just focus on his inner organs. He specifically focused on finishing his Aether Pathways first and foremost. From what Sylas could see, his intestines weren’t even fully reformed, and many of the smooth muscles that would be required to make his inner organs function in the first place were missing.

But clearly… Salivar was confident that so long as his Aether Pathways were finished…

Everything else would fall into place.

Salivar released a hollow laugh that sounded like sputtering water on gravel grinding against gravel.

And with that laugh, a tree with a canopy large enough to block out the skies appeared at his back.
