Chapter 433: Cassandra’s Confession
At exactly 11:00 PM, Blaze stepped forward into the darkness of the abandoned rail station tracks. He moved towards the old industrial zone, guided only by the bright glow of the full moon.
He could tell someone was watching him from the shadows as her approached a dark path. But he did falter in his steps, his aura dangerously calm and calculated.
Just then, his phone vibrated in his hand.
A single glance at the private number lighting up his phone screen told him that the call was from the anonymous individual.
He answered the call without hesitation, his voice calm but chilly.
“I’m listening.”
“Did you come alone?” Came the same trembling female voice.
“What do you think?” Blaze smirked devilishly, his eyes darkened with a lethal inferno.
“I don’t trust you because I know how you operate. But you have to promise you won’t kill me. And also, you must promise to protect me after I tell you what I know?”
“Hmm…And why should I make promises to a stranger who might as well be already dead?”
As those words left Blaze’s lips, a gun clicked in the shadow and the call abruptly ended.
Then another call from Echo lit up Blaze’s phone screen.
“Boss, we have her,” Echo reported when Blaze received the call.
“Good, take her to the safe house.” Blaze hung up and returned to his car. He stopped by the house to ensure his family were doing well before he left to rejoin his men at the safe house.

The interrogation room was freezing cold, and the white fluorescent light above shone brightly like a merciless spotlight, exposing every tremor of fear that flickered across Cassandra’s pale face.
She sat on a metal chair, her hands trembling on her lap as she stared at the two-way mirrors that reflected her terror back at her from every angle.
She knew people were watching her from behind the glass, probably deciding her fate, and for a split second, she regretted contacting Blaze Anderson.
Suddenly, the heavy metal door creaked open and Blaze stepped in, his black coat swaying with his slow, measured stride.
The echo of his boots against the tiled floor filled the silence in the room like a drumbeat of death.
Cassandra’s breath caught in her throat, her gaze lowering as she murmured her last prayer.
Blaze slowly sat down on the armless chair opposite her and crossed one leg over, while studying the pale-looking young lady who had dared to negotiate with him.
“You’ve got one chance, Cassandra.” Blaze began, his tone lethal and promising great agony. “Tell me everything you know about the disappearance of my best friend and sister-in-law. Or I will make you watch the hungry wolves in the next room feed on you slowly, tearing you from limb to limb while you’re still breathing.”
Cassandra’s lips parted, but no sound came out as she unintentionally wet her pants. Her heart pounded so hard, she feared she was coming down with a cardiac arrest.
“Now talk to me.” Blaze clicked a finger and immediately, two muzzled black wolves with red spine-chilling eyes were brought into the room and made to sit on either side of Cassandra.
Thankfully, neither of the wolves was growing. But their presence was more terrifying than sitting on top of an active volcano.
“Please…” she whimpered already breaking down in a cold sweat. “I…I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. Sebastian…”
Blaze leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees and his eyes narrowing like a predator studying a fragile prey.
“Who the hell is Sebastian?”
“S…. Sarah’s University course mate and mm…my ex.” Cassandra stuttered.
“Keep talking.” Blaze read through the update on his phone about Sebastian.
“H…he was obsessed, with Sarah. He had always wanted her ever since he laid his eyes on her. But when she chose Henry over him, it drove him crazy.” Cassandra inhaled to steady her trembling voice. “After Henry and Sarah made their union official, Sebastian almost killed himself. For weeks, he would punish me as if it were my fault. He kept saying he couldn’t let her go. He said she was supposed to be his. He said that Henry stole her from him.”
Blaze’s jaw flexed and a shadow of fury glinted in his eyes as he could already paint the picture of the next scenario.
“Keep talking.” He said coldly, while dropping a message on his phone.
“After Sarah’s official debut with the triple X music band, Sebastian started planning something sinister.” Cassandra continued, her words tumbling out. “For months he kept mostly to himself, only talking to me when he needed sexual company. One night, when he was drunk, he talked about resetting everything, about faking his death if he had to. He said if he couldn’t have Sarah in this life, he would come back for her in another. Back then, I…I didn’t think he was serious. I didn’t read any meaning to it.” She choked back a sob, as she watched Blaze’s clenched knuckles turn white with subdued rage.
“Then came the fishing trip accident that his uncle claimed took his life. Even Sarah and the rest of the school mourned his loss. But something deep down told me that he was not dead. I felt his presence and I knew something was fishy about the accident. So I started investigating his death until I was discovered by his uncle.”
Cassandra broke into tears as she recalled every horror she had been through in the past few months.
“That a….animal violated me in w…ways I…I can’t even speak of.” She stammered, trembling violently. “He tried to silence me and has kept me as his pet ever since. He threatened me that if I ever spoke about his dead nephew again, he would have me killed.”
“So what does Sebastian’s uncle have to do with Henry and Sarah’s disappearance?” Blaze demanded angrily, losing his cool.
“Everything,” Cassandra whispered taking in a sharp breath before she continued. “I mistakenly stumbled on a piece of information that confirmed my suspicion that Sebastian was alive and in communication with his uncle. Sebastian’s uncle sent a gift to Sarah posing as Henry, right before their trip to the movie set. It was a very expensive diamond necklace. Two days later, I heard on the news that Henry and Sarah had been declared missing. I knew Sebastian and his uncle were behind it. But I didn’t have any proof and I was afraid of dying.”
