Chapter 432: Anonymous Call…The Breakthrough.

“Were you trying to run away from me again?” Sebastian’s voice was low and dangerous.

Sarah’s pulse thundered in fear and panic. But she didn’t let it show. Rather, she straightened her spine and glared right back at him.

“Run away from you?” she snapped, feigning offense. “Can you even hear yourself talking? If I wanted to run away, would I bother using the restroom first? Would I torture myself any further by sleeping next to you when I could easily plunge a dagger into your heart?”

Sebastian’s fist clenched. But Sarah was not done talking.

“You lock me up in this demented prison of yours. You watch me like some fancy trapped bird in a cage, and now you think I’m sneaking out simply because I came to ease myself? What more do you want from me, Sebastian? My soul?”

“Don’t twist this because you know…” Sebastian began, but Sarah cut him off, her voice trembling with righteous fury.

“No, you listen, you insecure psycho. You can’t keep treating me like this and expect anything good from me. You say you want me to love you, but how can anyone love a man who doesn’t trust her for a second?” Her eyes glistened with fake tears as she shoved him lightly.

“I’m trying, Sebastian. You’ve taken everything away from me, but I’m trying to forgive and accept you. I want to make peace with this forced relationship…with you. But you’re making it impossible with your insecurities. You are making me hate you even more. If you know you can’t stand me, then just put a bullet in my head and send me to hell where my real lover is waiting for me.”

Sebastian’s anger flared at the sight of her tears and her heartbreaking words. He had only woken up and found her missing from the bed with the door slightly open. This had triggered his rage. But he never meant to make her cry considering the effort she had made to sleep next to him.

Exhaling and pushing all his anger aside, he reached for her arm softly.

“Sarah… I didn’t mean to…”

“Don’t touch me.” She pulled away sharply, her eyes narrowed in slits. “I can’t even look at you right now. You disgust me. I’m going to my room before you accuse me of something else.”

She turned around to leave, but Sebastian caught her by the arm, his voice broken and pleading.

“Sarah, please… don’t go. Don’t leave me tonight. I’m sorry.” He gently wiped her streaming tears with his thumbs. “You are absolutely right. I’m a fool. I shouldn’t have doubted you. Please, come back to bed. I promise, I won’t upset you again.”

“No.” Sarah spat out.

“Please…” Sebastian went down on his knee, resting his head on her stomach. “I promise, I’ll be a good boy.”

“Fine.”.Sarah pushed his head away from her, wriggling herself free from his hold. “But if you ever accuse me of running again, I swear I’ll…”

“I won’t,” he promised quickly, cutting her off. “I love you.”

“And I still hate you.” Sarah rolled her eyes and left for his room.

Back in bed, Sebastian wrapped his arms around her against her will, pulling her close until her back pressed into his chest and his breath fanned against her ear.

Sarah wanted to fight him off. His embrace felt like chains of thorns drawing out her blood and sucking the life out of her. But she also needed him to trust her at the moment. She could only complain about his bulge that was almost boring a hole through her nightwear, which he quickly addressed with a pillow.

“Now sleep, my darling.” He murmured teasingly, nuzzling her neck, “You’ll always be safe in my arms.”

‘Safe!’ Sarah scoffed in her heart as she lay still, her mind racing beneath the calm mask she wore. That word tasted like poison in her mouth as she wished nothing more than to drive a stake into his heart.

But she managed to force her body to relax, and after a while, exhaustion and sleep finally took over.

Sebastian stayed awake for more than three hours, watching her chest rise and fall with a rhythmic movement.

“I’m going to make you mine, Sarah.” He murmured, pressing a faint kiss on her hair. “And when that time comes, you will only scream my name in pleasure.” He allowed his eyes to travel the length of her body while stroking his stiffening bulge.

–

–

It had been over a month and a handful of restless days since Sarah and Henry vanished from the movie production set at Bamtif Coast.

Yet, not a single solid lead had surfaced about their whereabouts.

The police had exhausted every protocol. Drones had combed the thick forests surrounding the coast. Divers had scoured the reefs and the media had milked the mystery of the missing couple, dry. But no one had a single clue whether the couple were dead or alive.

Nevertheless, all the families directly and indirectly linked to the couples, including their friends refused to give up hope. They refused to believe that Sarah and Henry were gone from the surface of the Earth without a single proof.

Night after night, they gathered – eyes hollowed from sleepless grief – strategizing with investigators on news route and leads to follow.

At the head of the investigating team was Blaze. He refused to believe that his best friend was gone.

Blaze showed no mercy as he visited old enemies and rivals alike, purging them inside out for any glimpse of the information he needed.

However, no matter how many infuriating villains he shot in the head or how many businesses his lethal alliances trashed, it was still the same old story.

“We didn’t touch them.”

Just as hope began to wither completely, then came a breakthrough in the form of an anonymous call.

It was late in the night, and Blaze was on his way home, looking completely drained and depressed, when he received a call.

“Who the hell is this?” Blaze growled in a low lethal tone.

“If you want to know what really happened to Henry and Sarah…” a low and shaky feminine voice said, “…then meet me tonight at 11:00 PM by the abandoned railway station at the edge of the old industrial zone. Come alone or you might not find me there.”

The line clicked before Blaze could have his people trace the call.
