Chapter 428: Killer instinct

Back on the island…

The following morning, Sarah woke up to the delicious aroma of roasted fish, freshly baked bread and some freshly squeezed juice.

“Good morning, my love.” Sebastian carefully set the tray beside her, smiling softly. “I hope you have a large appetite because I made this specially for you. It’s spicy and rich in some herbal root that can boost your strength.”

He sat down on the edge of the bed, studying her fragile profile with quiet satisfaction. She was simply breathing, taking in the long, floral chiffon dress he had left on her bed the previous evening for her to change into after showering.

Sarah’s eyes drifted from him to the tray, her gaze lingering on the silver cutlery, as a dark thought crossed her mind.

“It looks good and smells nice right?” Sebastian said, mistaking her silence for admiration. “Why don’t you sit up and let me feed you? I promise, you will love it.”

Sarah’s gaze shifted to the slightly ajar door as a plan began to form in her head.

“Sarah?!” Sebastian followed her gaze to the door, while wondering what she was looking at. “Is something wrong?”

Sarah slowly pushed herself into a sitting position, trembling with every movement. She allowed Sebastian to assist her, giving him the illusion that she was slowly warming up to him.

“Let me…”

She shot him a nasty disapproving glare as he lifted the glass of juice to her lips, and he quickly apologized, setting the glass down.

“Go ahead and try the fish or anything you want.” Sebastian urged softly, smiling sweetly at her.

Sarah ignored him as she slowly pulled the tray closer to herself while Sebastian watched with thrilled satisfaction.

She took the bottle of water on the tray and took a few sips to quench her thirst.

Next, she clumsily reached for the bread and intentionally knocked off the glass of juice, causing the orange liquid to spill on the bed, spreading quickly towards Sebastian’s side.

“Careful baby!” Sebastian exclaimed, jumping to his feet and picking up the glass.

Sarah faked a sigh, pouting at the mess.

“Don’t worry, my love. I’ll clean the mess and make you another glass. Give me a minute while I get a napkin.” He said before hurrying out of the room.

Immediately, Sebastian disappeared behind the door, Sarah quickly grabbed the bread knife on the tray, her trembling hand tightening around the handle. Her heart was pounding erratically and her sunken eyes darkened with a killer instinct,

Fury coursed through her veins like poison as she poised herself on the bed like a serpent awaiting to strike.

The moment she heard the door creak open again, her muscles tensed in readiness to deliver a deadly blow.

“I hope I didn’t take long, my love,” Sebastian said, his voice smooth as he stepped inside with a small blue towel in his hand. He crouched near the bed, reaching for the tray. “Let’s get this mess cleaned and….”

His words trailed and his brow furrowed as he observed that something was missing on the tray.

A single glance instantly told him that the bread knife was gone. But before he could fully react, Sarah lunged forward, her eyes blazing with an animalistic instinct.

On impulse, Sebastian moved as the flash of steel sliced through the air.

The blade slashed through his shirt, ripping the fabric open, missing his skin by a whisker.

“Die, bastard.” Sarah shrieked, as she pulled back and struck again. But Sebastian caught her wrist mid-swing, twisting it violently until the knife clattered to the floor. “Get your filthy hands off me.” She fought with all her strength, trashing like an untamed wild animal.

“Stop this madness, Sarah!” Sebastian roared, fury and disbelief colliding in his voice. “You will get yourself hurt.”

“I will kill you, fucker,” Sarah screamed, thrashing more violently – clawing at him, and striking his chest with her fists as tears of rage blurred her vision.

“Sarah!” Sebastian arrested her other hand behind her back and pinned her to the nearest wall. “Stop!”

“Not until I kill you.” She screamed, her voice raw as she shot her knee up, aiming for his crotch. Sebastian predicted her reckless attempt at crushing his balls and blocked her attack, pressing her body against the wall with his muscular body, heat rising to his face at the intimate position.

“Get off me!” Sarah cried out loud, writhing in pain as she tried to set herself free.

Sebastian’s expression hardened, veins bulging out on his temples as he held her down.

“Enough!”

“Never!” Sarah barked, her rage only deepening as she spat in his face, trying to wrench herself free. Her nails tore into his skin, drawing thin lines of blood. “I will never stop until you are dead.”

“Don’t push me to hit you, Sarah,” Sebastian hissed through gritted teeth. “Please, stop squirming. You’re going to hurt yourself.”

“I don’t care!” she shouted. “I’d rather die and be with Henry than breathe the same air as you maggot.”

Something inside Sebastian snapped at the mention of Henry. His gaze darkened as he roughly grabbed her chin forcing her face toward his.

“Henry is dead and forgotten,” he growled. “You are my wife now and you will learn to love and respect me. But since you want to act like an animal, then I’ll treat you like one.”

Before she could protest, he crushed his mouth against hers, forcing a punishing kiss that was meant to break her defiance.

In response to the kiss, Sarah bit down with every ounce of strength she had left, drawing out blood from his bruised lips.

Sebastian cried out in pain as he tore his face away, temporarily releasing her hands

“You little viper.”

Sarah reached again for the knife on the floor, her vision blurry with a blend of fury and insanity. But Sebastian was faster. He kicked the knife out of harm’s way while his palm cracked sharply across her cheek.

“Ahhh…” Sarah cried out, her hands instinctively cupping her stinging cheek.

The sound of the slap echoed through the room as Sara staggered backwards. She slipped on the spilt juice on the floor and lost her balance, falling on the bed behind her.

These sudden actions ejected the food tray out of position, and it crashed on the floor, ruining Sebastian’s labour of love.
