Chapter 425: Odd Request
The following morning, the movie crew got ready to move to their filming location when Magdalene observed that the male and female leads were yet to come out of their private lodge.
“Tim, can you please call Mr Gordon and tell him we are set to move?” Magdalene pleaded while moving some of the filming props to the mini truck conveying the filming gadgets.
“You want me to earn a strike from the boss by disrupting his morning workout exercise?” Tim arched a brow and everyone burst out laughing.
“Don’t be ridiculous Tim.” Magdalene rolled her eyes. “Go to his room and get him. I’m sure they are just having morning coffee.”
“Nah… Let’s give the Mr and Mrs thirty minutes more to finish their coffee, like you rightly put it,” Tim said, wiggling his brow. “If they don’t show up after that, I will go drop a message.”
Magdalene huffed, clicking her tongue. “Fine! But we have to start early if you want to capture the sun rising over the Tampin cliff before the tide sets in.”
“Yeah…just give them thirty minutes more.”
“Okay.” Magdalene shrugged and rounded up with her own activities before making her way to the hotel restaurant for a cup of coffee.
While she sipped slowly from her mug, she scrolled through her phone, surfing through the Internet when one of the attendants approached her with an odd request.
“You are Miss Maggie, right?”
“Who is asking?” Magdalene looked up, her brows furrowed in irritation.
“Mr Gordon asked me to drop a message with you last night when he came around to pick up some important personal stuff.”
“Huh?!” Magdalene’s frown deepened. “Mr Gordon is in his room.”
“No he isn’t.” The waitress shook her head, smiling politely. “He left the hotel yesterday evening with his partner to explore the village. However, he returned a few minutes past 8:00 PM to pick up some personal stuff.”
“He did?!” Magdalene could already feel her heart banging in alarm.
“Yes ma’am.”
“Did he return alone or with his partner?”
“He came back alone and he seemed to be in a hurry.”
Magdalene stood up, her eyes widening, knowing Henry would never leave Sarah out of his sight, no matter the urgency.
“What did he say?”
“He said you can go on with the supporting character shoot for today. He and Miss Hunt will join the crew before sunset or first thing tomorrow morning.”
“He said that?”
“Yes.” The waitress replied calmly. “He also said I should inform you not to be alarmed by anything. He said he’s about to pop the question and he wants it done in privacy.”
“Oh!” Magdalene exhaled, her initial fears melting away. She recalled Henry’s huge plan to propose to Sarah on an island. And the island they were currently in, was the best place in the world for a romantic proposal. “Thank you for the message.”
“You’re welcome, ma’am.” The waitress gave a polite bow before returning to her desk.
Without bothering about reconfirming the waitress’s message, Magdalene passed on Henry’s order to their assistant director, and the day’s activities swung into action without a hitch.

Back in Salvine city, Michael was preparing to go for his basketball friendly game with his friends when his mother walked into his bedroom asking if he had heard from his sister since the previous night.
“We spoke yesterday when she arrived at the coast and she texted me later in the evening with pictures of her, having a good time with her lover,” Michael said casually, fixing the lace of his sneakers.
“What about this morning?” Judith asked, feeling a bit restless.
“No, Mom. But you know they’ll be going for the shoot this morning. I wouldn’t want to disturb her.”
“Okay…” Judith fumbled with the belt of her robe, her heart still pounding restlessly. “Can you still call Henry and find out if they are okay?”
“Mom…” Michael stood up, frowning.
“Please. I’ve already tried and I couldn’t get in touch with either of them. Maybe you could reach them on another private line. You know your sister doesn’t keep things away from you.”
Michael let out a sigh. “Fine… But she doesn’t have a private line. You have all her mobile numbers.” He picked up his phone and dialled Henry’s number. But it was unreachable. He dialled Sarah’s number next, but it was also the same thing.
“That’s odd…” Michael muttered under his breath as he typed a message and sent it to them.
“Were you able to reach them?” Judith moved closer to her son, studying his facial expression.
“Not yet.” Michael thought briefly and placed a call to the assistant movie director, who picked up on the first ring.
“Hey, Tim… Please is Henry or my sister close by? I would like to talk with one of them.”
“Oh…sorry bro. Neither of them is available at the moment?”
“How do you mean? Aren’t they supposed to be on set shooting this morning?” Michael frowned.
“That was the plan but he left the island last night for a romantic getaway with Sarah.”
“What?” Michael’s heart skipped a beat. “What sort of romantic getaway?”
“Henry is about to pop the question and he doesn’t want any distraction.”
“He told you that in person?” Michael demanded, his heart tightening with fear.
He knew of Henry’s proposal plan because he was a part of the planning committee alongside Blaze, Eugene and Amelia.
“No…he dropped a message with the hotel receptionist last night when he came to take some of his stuff. Is there a problem?”
Michael quickly walked away from his mother, while putting another call across to Blaze in a conference call.
“Tim, I need you to place everything on hold and go straight to Henry’s room. Find out what was taken and also alert the authority.”
“What?!”
“There is no time to explain, but I think Henry and my sister are in trouble.”
“Okay.”
Michael hung up on Tim as Blaze’s deep voice echoed from the other end.
“What do you mean, Henry and Sarah are in trouble?” Blaze demanded angrily.
“Tim just informed me that Henry and Sarah didn’t return to the lodge last night, claiming they left the island for a private getaway where Henry is planning to propose to Sarah.”
“What?! But we are the ones planning the whole thing.”
“Exactly my fears. How fast can you get a jet ready that can take us to the island?” Michael said, running down the stairs towards his father’s study while his already panicking mother hurried behind him.
“Twenty minutes or thirty minutes top.”
“Please, also get your people to start searching. I have the strange feeling that something bad might have happened to them.”
“Okay. Meet me at the private hangar in twenty minutes.”
Michael ended the call as he barged into his father’s home office without knocking.
“Mike what is ….”
“Honey ….I think Sarah has been kidnapped again.” Judith blurted out, cutting her son off.
“Mom, I never said that.” Michael flashed his mother a displeased look.
“You don’t have to,” Judith said, already crying. “I overheard your conversation.”
“Is that true, Mike?” Hilary moved around his table, his pupils already dilating in horror as memories of her previous kidnapping incident flashed across his mind.
“Dad, I can’t say for sure,” Michael spoke calmly, suppressing his own anxiety. “We can’t reach them but we have to remain positive. In the meantime, I’ve called Blaze and I’m off to his private hangar. I need your mom to stay put while we travel down to the coast to ensure everything is fine.”
“No way!” Judith snapped harshly at her son. “Sarah is my only daughter, and I’m coming with you to look for her, whether you approve of it or not.”
“Mom…”
“Let’s go, son. There is no time to argue with your mother. Every second counts.” Hilary’s tone was urgent, and his expression filled with dread.
