Chapter 411: Big Baby

After rounding up his work at the studio, Henry met up with Sarah and Annabelle at a classy restaurant, where he had reserved a private dining room for just the three of them.

“Hello, beautiful ladies.” Henry’s voice chimed with euphoria as he entered the private luxury dining room.

“Hi…” They both chanted, rising up to receive him.

“Always looking good, Henry.” Annabelle, who was closest to him, complimented him sweetly as he gave her a warm hug.

“Thanks, dearie.” Henry’s affectionate gaze locked on Sarah who was standing on the opposite side of the table. “And how is my Superstar actress doing this fine evening?”

“Awesome!” Sarah opened her arms to receive him, her cheeks giving off a pinkish-red glow as he wrapped his arms around her waist and claimed her lips in a passionate kiss.

“Aww… You, too, are going to make me jealous.” Annabelle pouted, animatedly.

“I could always call Michael if you want?” Sarah winked at her bestie, while wiping a trace of her lipstick on Henry’s lips.

“No thanks. We already have something planned and I don’t want to ruin it.” Annabelle wiggled her brow and all three burst out laughing as they took their seat.

“You girls haven’t placed your orders yet?” Henry stared at the partially empty table.

“Oh…we were waiting for you, sweetie,” Sarah replied softly and Henry blew a kiss to her.

“Thanks, baby.” Henry signalled the waiter with a snap of his finger, and their orders were taken.

Over a spread of exquisite continental dishes and fine wine, their laughter filled the room as Sarah recounted her triumphant moments from the audition.

“Honestly, I must commend your acting skill, baby,” Henry noted. “I always knew you were made for The Broadway. You needed to see the way you were killing it up on stage for a rookie without experience. Imagine if you were now properly trained.”

“Oh…I can already imagine the name… Sarah Hunt Gordon pasted on every billboard in Salvine City.” Annabelle dramatized and the room erupted in another round of laughter.

“I love that Gordon part you added to the name.” Henry raised his wine glass to Annabelle.

“Thank you.”

“I can’t wait for us to start shooting the movie. It’s going to rock this town, especially with you and me as the main characters.” Henry beamed.

“Yeah! But do you think I’m that good?” Sarah doubted herself a little.

“You are better than awesome. You just need a little tweak here and there and you’ll be great.” Henry assured her.

“Speaking about that, don’t you think Sarah needs a little brushing before tomorrow’s audition?” Annabelle pointed out and Henry nodded in agreement.

“Yeah! I was going to mention that to you baby. How about we rehearse together for the night against tomorrow’s audition?”

“Where do you want us to rehearse? My place?” Sarah raised a brow, an exciting chill running up her spine.

“Definitely not!” Annabelle bluntly kicked against it. “Remember your parents and brother don’t know anything about you auditioning for a movie. I think you should keep it a secret for now until you win the female lead role. Then you can tell them as a surprise.”

“That sounds like an ingenious plan.” Henry concurred.

“So, if I get you right, you want me to lie to my parents about the audition and spend the night outside home–which by the way, my mom won’t agree to…”

“Unless you tell her you’re spending the night at my house to do a project.” Annabelle gave Sarah a wink.

“Hmm…. I get where this is going.” Sarah eyed Henry suspiciously.

“At least you get to see the penthouse while we rehearse together,” Henry said pleadingly, giving Sarah puppy eyes.

“I bet it’s going to be so much fun, waking up to a beautiful sunset wrapped in your lover’s arms.” Annabelle wiggled both her brows at Sarah.

“You are such a bad influence on me.” Sarah rolled her eyes at Annabelle.

“That is the more reason why you love me.” Annabelle made a funny cutie face, leaving everyone laughing again.

“Soooo… Are we rehearsing at my place tonight?” Henry stared longingly at Sarah, his heart pounding erratically.

“Hold on a second.” Sarah picked up her phone and dialled her mother’s number while holding Henry’s gaze.

Both mother and daughter chatted briefly over the phone before Sarah finally ended the call with a smile.

“It’s a yes but…” She narrowed her gaze at Henry. “…no funny business.”

“Scouts honour.” Henry saluted and another ripple of laughter filled the room.

After a very busy day at the office, Blaze was super thrilled to come back home to his loving wife and son.

“Look who is here?” Amelia cooed to her son, while welcoming a tender kiss on the cheek from my husband.

“Daddy is home.” Blaze dropped his briefcase aside and tenderly scooped his son into his arms. “Did you miss me?” He nuzzles his baby on the cheeks while making funny faces.

“He sure did because he wouldn’t stop crying for the past hour until he heard the sound of your car,” Amelia said beaming.

“Oh…my darling.” Blaze pressed his lips on Noel’s forehead. “Don’t worry, Daddy’s going nowhere tonight. You and only you have his attention for the rest of the evening.”

“Only your son?!” Maria came up from behind, her tone bearing a hint of cheerful caution.

“Don’t stress yourself, Mom. Since my husband no longer finds me…”

“Calm down, baby.” Blaze quickly cut Amelia off, pulling how closer with his left hand. “You know I was only kidding. How could I live without my beautiful, sweetest heart?” He tried to kiss her but she pushed his face away, laughing.

“Stop it, silly.”

“Can I have Noel before you get carried away. It’s time for his evening bath.” Maria said smiling.

“Good evening, Mom.” Blaze kissed her on the forehead before placing Noel carefully in her arms.

“Good evening, my love, how was work today?”

“Exhausting.”

“I can see it all over you. Go have your bath and join us downstairs for dinner.” Maria patted him tenderly on the chin before walking away humming softly to her grandson.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Blaze caught Amelia as she tried to sneak away from him.

“To join Mom and bath Noel of course.” Amelia rolled her eyes, giggling from his tickling touch.

“And what about me? Don’t you think I need a bath too?” Blaze swept her off her feet before she could escape him.

“Blaze, stop. I just finished breastfeeding Noel and I reek of baby milk.” Amelia protested.

“Even better. Big baby needs to feed too.” Blaze teased in a husky voice as he climbed up the stairs, carrying her carefully in his arms.

“What?!” Amelia’s eyes widened in humour. “Do I look like a milk factory, grandpa?”

“No…But I could use a little sweetener.” He tickled her more on the side.

“Don’t let your son hear that you are trying to split his meal. He’ll have your head for it.”

“Nah… He only has six months before I take full possession of what is rightfully mine. That was exactly the same time my father gave me, when I was his age.”

“What?!” Amelia chuckled out loud. “He is my first and I’m planning to breastfeed him for one year.”

“Not on my watch. That only applies to the girls, not the boys. They can get the rest from their future wife.” Blaze leaned closer and claimed his wife’s lips before she could protest on behalf of their son.
