Capítulo 440: Viscount Bellgrace

He smiled helplessly, gently stroking her little head, “Don’t worry. Once we leave the city, I’ll make sure to cook delicious meals for you again.”

Lyra immediately brightened, smiling happily and leaning affectionately against Orion, her small eyes closing in enjoyment as he continued patting her. Orion gently smiled seeing her peaceful face.

After the meal, Orion took Lyra on a leisurely stroll around Silverfall City, introducing her to numerous fun and entertaining places.

Lyra laughed and skipped joyfully throughout, her cheerful and innocent face earning smiles from the surrounding passersby, further warming Orion’s heart.

Soon, the sun dipped below the horizon. Orion led Lyra to an inn nearby, quickly renting a luxurious room for their stay.

Upon entering their accommodation, Orion knelt down to gently instruct Lyra with a patient, caring tone, “Lyra, be good and stay in the room for now. I have some important things to handle outside. I’ll be back shortly, alright?”

Lyra tilted her head curiously, but obediently nodded, her eyes filled with trust, “Alright, papa!”

Orion sighed once more at the familiar title, “It’s big brother.”

He softly patted her head again, leaving her with a reassuring smile before quietly exiting the inn.

After coming outside, his gentle expression slowly changed, replacing with a mocking smile as he said to himself, “Viscount huh… Let’s see what gave you the guts to oppose me.”

Orion’s figure slowly melted into the surrounding shadows using his newly learned Shadow element, becoming an indistinct phantom that silently traversed through Silverfall City, heading directly towards the Viscount House Bellgrace.

***

Meanwhile, deep inside the manor, within a lavishly decorated chamber, a young noble with a swollen, bruised face lay on his bed, eyes bloodshot with fury as he roared hysterically,

“I WILL KILL HIM! I WILL BUTCHER THAT BASTARD! HOW DARE HE HUMILIATE ME IN PUBLIC! HOW DARE HE, HOW DARE HE, HOW DARE HEEEEE!!”

Standing beside the bed was a stern middle-aged man with an equally livid expression, Viscount Bellgrace himself. Clenched fists trembling with suppressed rage, his voice was icy and threatening, “He has crossed the line this time! Does he truly think that just because the Helstorm House backs him, he can bully my Bellgrace family without repercussions?!”

An elderly butler, dressed immaculately, stood by the Viscount’s side, his aged features calm but stern. He bowed respectfully, cautioning them carefully, “My Lord, please reconsider. If Orion Helstorm meets harm within the walls of Silverfall City, it will bring disaster to our house. We would have no plausible explanation to offer House Helstorm.”

“Instead, it would be better to wait until he leaves the city and is traveling through the forest. Bandits are known to plague the region; it would be simple to arrange an accident and blame it on them.”

Viscount Bellgrace visibly calmed down at the butler’s wise words, the tension easing slightly from his rigid shoulders. Nodding slowly, he responded grimly, “You’re right. We must not be impulsive. After all, that esteemed lord has already given us his orders, we cannot afford any missteps.”

Hidden within the shadows of the room, Orion stood silently, his cold eyes flickering with disdain and amusement at their futile plotting.

He had arrived a while ago and had heard their entire conversation clearly. ‘Still daring to scheme against me?’ he inwardly sneered, contempt evident in his expression. ‘You truly don’t know what’s good for you.’

He remained still a moment longer, hoping they might reveal some useful information about this mysterious ‘lord’ who was pulling strings behind the scenes.

However, as the conversation shifted toward comforting the young noble’s bruised ego, Orion’s patience swiftly wore thin.

Without hesitation, Orion activated the Silent Hall Cube, isolating the room from the outside world completely.

Stepping forth from the shadows, his appearance instantly caused the three figures inside to stiffen in disbelief.

Orion raised a hand calmly, snapping his fingers gently as he whispered softly, [Crimson Nova].

Instantaneously, a tiny crimson spark flicked forward, silently landing on the elderly butler’s robe.

A second later, a terrifying flame exploded forth, engulfing him completely. The elderly man’s shrill, desperate screams filled the chamber as the flames consumed him within mere seconds, leaving nothing behind but smoldering ash.

The Viscount stared in utter shock and horror before quickly shifting his gaze toward Orion. His expression quickly morphed from disbelief to uncontainable rage, roaring fiercely, “YOU BEAST!! YOU DARE TO COMMIT MURDER INSIDE MY MANOR?!”

Without waiting for Orion’s reply, Viscount Bellgrace began hurriedly chanting an incantation.

Just as potent elemental energy began gathering around him, Orion coldly flicked his wrist, scattering several seeds around the chamber. He calmly said, [Forest’s Wrath].

Immediately, massive, verdant vines surged explosively from the ground, snaking aggressively toward both father and son.

The Viscount reacted with lightning reflexes and summoned crackling thunder around his body and barely dodged aside.

However, the spoiled young noble lying helplessly on the bed was not nearly as fortunate, he screamed pitifully as the vines swiftly bound him, pulling him roughly onto the floor before Orion.

Orion’s cold, indifferent gaze locked onto the now-terrified Viscount. His voice was calm, filled with chilling disdain, “A mere Viscount dares jump in front of me? You truly do not understand your own insignificance.”

Before Viscount Bellgrace could even respond, Orion casually raised his palm, murmuring softly, [Stormpiercer Bolt].

A bright, ferocious bolt of lightning instantly tore through the air, exploding against the Viscount’s legs mercilessly.

He collapsed immediately, howling in agonizing pain, blood spurting from his ruined limbs. Orion, utterly indifferent, allowed more vines to surge forth, tightly binding the now-crippled Viscount in place.

Then, with a wave of his hand, Orion summoned a throne of tightly intertwined vines behind him.

He sat comfortably upon it, looking down disdainfully at the kneeling pair, the pale-faced, trembling young noble and his furious, crippled father.

Leaning back leisurely, Orion rested his cheek upon his fist, cold eyes observing them with indifferent mockery as he spoke calmly yet menacingly, “Speak clearly. Who exactly ordered you to target me?”

The terrified young noble was shaking uncontrollably, clearly overwhelmed by Orion’s casual brutality.

However, Viscount Bellgrace still mustered the last bit of courage left within him, roaring defiantly through clenched teeth, “You wretched brat! Do you think this humiliation will go unpunished?! Once lord—”

BOOM!!!

Before the Viscount could finish his sentence, a grotesque popping sound resonated throughout the room.

In an instant, his head violently exploded from within, showering the room with blood, bone fragments, and brain matter.

The grisly scene painted the lavish chamber crimson, shocking even Orion, who watched with narrowed eyes and a dark expression.

The young noble kneeling beside the Viscount fell into a state of hysteria, screaming uncontrollably as pure terror consumed him.

Orion stared grimly at the headless corpse of the Viscount, inwardly cursing, ‘Fuck! He actually had a curse planted inside him?’

Lumi’s voice resonated solemnly within his Sea of Consciousness, her tone equally serious,

[That seems like the only plausible explanation. Whoever is behind this clearly wishes to remain hidden at all costs. To use a curse of such strength to silence the Viscount immediately upon mentioning his name… this opponent is far more cautious and dangerous than we initially thought.]

Orion’s face hardened even further as his cold gaze shifted toward the young noble, who had collapsed completely, babbling incoherently in fear.

He no longer saw any use for this worthless idiot. Without a shred of hesitation, Orion’s hand flashed forward, instantly transforming into a draconic claw.

The young noble barely had time to register the motion before his body was violently ripped apart, spraying even more blood across the devastated chamber.
