Chapter 417: Making Plans

Orion, shaking off his initial surprise, grinned warmly. “Arya, everyone, how have you all been? Especially you, Magi. You are actually alive haha.”

Before Magi could reply, Rina replied first as her expression became much more relieved after encountering Orion. “We’ve had quite a few encounters of our own, Master. You and Nyss certainly made yourselves known, Thunder Reaper Duo, was it?”

Emilia chuckled lightly, glancing at Nyss. “That nickname certainly suits you two. It seems both of you have grown even stronger.”

Even Emilia had softened a lot during this time with the group as she actively began to speak with everyone.

Nyss simply nodded calmly without speaking much.

Fiora stepped forward, carefully examining Orion’s condition, her voice soft and concerned, “Master, are you alright?”

Orion nodded reassuringly, smiling warmly at both her and Fiora. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. And I’m glad to see you’re all unharmed.”

Elias laughed loudly, his voice hearty and confident. “With you missing, we had to make sure we didn’t fall too far behind. How embarrassing would that be?”

Kale nodded earnestly, adding, “Exactly. Though this place is more dangerous than we thought, we managed to grow quite a bit.”

Orion nodded seriously, “Yes, especially after those Beastkin entered here, I didn’t know where they found another entry but it looks like there are spatial channels leading to the Beastkin Zone in this labyrinth. But anyways, how did you survive, Magi?”

“Boss, you don’t know how hard it was for me to survive, nearly all the one-time use treasures I bought are used up to survive until now. And I still haven’t encountered the opportunity that damn fortune teller was talking about,” Magi said in exasperation; just mentioning the fortune teller was enough to make him annoyed at this point.

Orion chuckled, clearly amused at his words; however, he didn’t think much about it now since the group had reunited. They began to seriously discuss what they had encountered and whom they had fought.

While the group was discussing, Rina and Fiora talked among themselves. After reaching Tier 7, one could learn to use the mana in the surroundings to send messages directly to another person’s mind as long as they were close by.

‘Fiora, doesn’t the way Nyss looks at Master seem different from before?’ Rina said suspiciously to Fiora.

Fiora turned her gaze and looked at how Nyss was sneakily stealing glances at Orion, almost as if she had stars in her eyes.

Her lips slightly twitched, ‘What happened during the days we were not with Master?’

Rina said with a slightly worried voice, ‘Will she steal Master from us? After all, she is a Duke Heir while we…’ her voice trailed off but Fiora knew what she meant.

But even if she knew that, she wasn’t discouraged; she smiled softly and said, ‘I don’t believe Master will abandon us. And I also don’t think Nyss can completely conquer his heart, if it was so easy we would have already done so.’

Rina put a finger on her chin and thought deeply about her words, ‘Hmm, what you say makes sense. There is also Seraph, hehe looks like Master will have a harem in the future.’

Fiora softly giggled, ‘Which top expert doesn’t have a harem? Much like Master who is a Dragon among men.’

‘Hehe a True Dragon indeed.’ Rina nearly laughed out loud at her way of address. ‘But still, I will talk with Nyss later. She should at least know what she’s in for if she decided to express her feelings to Master before knowing the situation. That would be troublesome.’

Fiora nodded her head as the two of them continued to chat among themselves while planning what to tell Nyss.

Just then, Elias spoke as if he just remembered something, “Ah yes, Orion. Yesterday, that Catkin Myra found a secret room in the depths of the labyrinth, but no one was able to open it and now everyone has gathered there. Should we head there to see what’s going on?”

Orion’s expression turned contemplative as he thought about it for a few seconds before nodding his head, “Yes, let’s head there. There might be some treasures hidden there. And if worse comes to worst then we can run away and let the Beastkin become our cover.”

The rest of the group nodded and began to move forward.

***

As the group moved deeper into the labyrinth, Orion noticed Elias and Kale frequently consulting a carefully prepared map.

Intrigued, he moved closer, observing as Elias traced out pathways and tunnels marked with great precision.

Clearly, their time separated had not been wasted; Elias and the others had meticulously mapped out large portions of the maze.

Seeing Orion’s curious gaze, Elias chuckled proudly. “Pretty good, isn’t it? We spent most of our time running around and gathering treasures, but at least it paid off. This labyrinth is gigantic, and without a map, we’d still be wandering aimlessly.”

Orion nodded appreciatively, genuinely impressed. “Excellent work. I didn’t know you were so smart. With this at least we won’t be lost. Those simpleton Beastkins might not have a map yet. We can stay ahead of them.”

Elias said under his breath, “You also didn’t make a map.”

Orion pressed a hard hand on his shoulder, “You said something?”

Elias quickly shook his head, “Haha you misheard, I was just thinking about the map.”

Emilia laughed lightly, glancing towards Arya and Sylvia, “That’s exactly what we’ve been trying to do. Honestly, the Beastkin tribes have become quite a headache.”

Felira nodded solemnly, her expression slightly grim. “Especially the four geniuses from Wolfkin, Lionkin, Bearkin, and Catkin tribes. They’re practically dominating everywhere they go.”

Magi sighed dramatically, “I nearly got sliced apart by that damn Lionkin a few days ago. If not for my last teleportation rune, I’d be history.”

Orion raised an eyebrow, clearly amused, “Seems like your fortune teller might have overlooked some details, Magi.”

Magi grimaced. “Don’t remind me, Boss. I’m never trusting those swindlers again.”

The group laughed softly as they proceeded onward, their spirits rising steadily now that they had reunited.

As they traveled, they encountered several powerful mana beasts, each engagement a fierce battle that showcased the significant improvements everyone had made.

Orion quietly observed, noting with pride that each member of their group had already reached Tier 7.

‘They’ve really had quite a few fortuitous encounters to catch up so soon,’ Orion thought inwardly, mildly surprised by their rapid advancement.

At that moment, Lumi’s playful voice echoed in his Sea of Consciousness.

[Hehe, that’s inevitable, Master. Your Sea of Consciousness is so absurdly large that your mana requirement is hundreds of times greater than theirs. It’s only your exceptional affinity that lets you absorb mana so quickly; otherwise, with a normal talent, you’d take years just to cross a single level.]

Orion sighed inwardly, nodding helplessly at Lumi’s words. After reaching the seventh level, the true enormity of his mana requirement had become painfully clear to him.

‘If I cultivated normally, it’d take me months to break through to the Eighth Level. And who knows how long my bloodlines will take to fully saturate?’

Lumi giggled lightly, offering comforting encouragement.

[Maybe you should worry about that after the second test at the academy. Hehe, as long as you reach the Eighth Tier by then, you’ll easily become one of the academy’s top students. The highest-ranked students are only at the Ninth Tier, after all.]
