Capítulo 3276: Without Starting Over

Shumi remained stunned for some time, her mind going through what Alex had said. If everything was as he had said, then she would gain multiple Creations. She couldn’t think how it was possible to have multiple Creations, but she couldn’t see Alex lying about it at the moment.

She wasn’t so stupid as to accept his words without some proof, but she couldn’t see what he would even wish to gain from lying. So, she could only accept it as the truth for now.

So, if it was the truth, she needed to understand a bit more about how it was that someone could gain multiple Creations.

She asked a few questions along the way, which Alex answered without hiding anything.

He explained the technique and how it was used. He gave a detailed explanation of how the Origin was split into multiple parts and then made to stay that way through the technique.

He talked about the issues with it too, how one was made to deal with unimaginable pain to split them. He balanced both the pros and cons of the technique, which in the end still came in favor of the benefits, since there were just so many.

“And I would be required to start all over for that?” she asked.

“Yes,” Alex said quickly, before pausing. “Or… no.”

“No?”

Alex didn’t speak immediately, taking the time to go through his own understanding of the Provenance Duality: Division technique. The sources of the combined technique—Provenance Duality: Replication and Provenance Duality: Transformation—claimed that even someone who was late could technically start over.

The bigger the Origin was and the more settled it was, the more difficult it became to mold it into how the techniques wanted it. That meant an immense amount of pain and hardship.

But it was possible.

So long as the Origin didn’t start to change, meaning so long as it didn’t have any aura poured into it and was just a raw Origin, it could technically be put through those techniques once again.

Alex told Shumi just that.

“You haven’t absorbed any aura from that root, right? The mist blocked your Origin, you said,” Alex asked with a hopeful look. If she did, then there would be more issues.

Shumi nodded.

Alex sighed a little in relief, but couldn’t help but show a look of surprise. “You didn’t absorb aura while you were in the Immortal Origin realm?” he asked.

Shumi shook her head. “I have a technique of my own that I must use for my Origin while in the Immortal Origin realm. I couldn’t absorb any aura during that time. And the moment I broke through, the mist covered my Origin.”

Alex nodded. “I see. Then you have two choices if you want multiple Creations.”

“Accept my offer and consume my pill. Your cultivation base will safely revert back down to Immortal Ascendant 1st realm, allowing you a second chance at forging your Origins.”

Shumi shook her head almost immediately. “I don’t think I want that,” she said without a hint of hesitation. “I’ve worked so hard already, and with how much time I’ve already wasted, I’m not going to waste any more just getting back to how I was.”

Alex nodded. “In that case, your second option is to use the technique in your current state,” he said. “The pain that comes because of it will likely be unbearable, and honestly, I would be surprised if the technique even works at your stage. Even if it works, I can see you struggling to split your Origin even once. But if you want to take that risk and have a chance at more than a single Origin, I can give you the technique alone.”

Shumi stared at Alex with a weird expression on her face. “Can… can I ask why you’re doing this? Why help me?”

Alex wanted to answer, but he wasn’t sure himself. Why was he helping her?

Was it just because she was the Moon Goddess? Was it because he felt a connection with her? Or was it because he knew the future would likely need a strong Shumi?

As he cycled through the reasons in his head, only one stood out, which surprised him.

“Because I like you,” he said with the smallest hint of a blush on his cheeks. “I’m not sure if this is me speaking or the Sun God’s body, but I like you, which is why I want to do this.”

Shumi’s face reddened a little, not knowing how to react to those words. “Th-thank you,” she said meekly before putting on her veil in a panic again, hiding away.

Alex smiled a little and quickly pulled out a talisman from his Soul Space. “This is the technique. Please swear an oath to not share it with anyone else without my permission.”

Shumi didn’t say anything. It was just expected of someone to make such a demand when passing along their technique. She quickly made the oath without hesitation, with no vague wording or loopholes present.

Once she did, Alex finally presented her with the talisman.

Shumi nodded seriously and accepted the talisman. “Thank you,” she said quickly. “I will try to use it when we’re done here. See if it works or not.”

Alex nodded. At Immortal Transcendent 1st realm, Alex could only leave it all up to Shumi. Maybe she would perform some miracle. If things were so easy, Scarlet wouldn’t have had to take the Second Chance pill.

But because she did, she had a much easier time using the technique, and she even had four Origins now, almost completely created. Just a few years of cultivation, and she would enter the Immortal Transcendent realm, wherein she too would need to start wondering about her Creations.

Shumi had only just begun to read through the talisman when her eyes widened in shock. Even through the veil, it was possible to see.

“Is something wrong?” Alex asked.

Shumi shook her head. “It’s nothing,” she said, and continued reading through it.
