Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3268
Capítulo 3268: My Mistake
Alex couldn’t help but be surprised. “Are you serious? I think the Sun God is well documented in many places. The White Tigers have murals of them. The human realms don’t talk about him much, but I am aware that they too have records on him. Are you sure there were no records of the Sun God with the demons?”
Shumi shook her head.
“Then…” Alex thought. “Someone didn’t care enough to record the Sun God’s existence, or… maybe more likely, someone deliberately got rid of every bit of information that existed regarding him.”
Shumi couldn’t argue against that thought. “Even sister Xin was surprised there was not even a hint or a passing mention of him.”
Alex remembered Fairy Xin from the Medicine World when she tried to place him in an ice dome and kill him, so his body could be given to someone else to take over. He couldn’t help but laugh a little, as Shumi too had been involved in that very incident.
“Where is your sister Xin?” Alex asked.
“I don’t know,” Shumi said. “Maybe she’s trying to get here, or she’s waiting for me outside.”
“Does she know you’re here?” Alex asked.
“She should. I haven’t been able to leave after all,” Shumi said.
Alex was about to say something when he remembered the strange white wolf and what it had said before dropping out of the trial.
When you get to the center, let her know I’m waiting for her at the Blackland City.
“Is your sister Xin a wolf right now?” he asked.
Shumi let out a soft gasp in surprise. “How did you know?”
Alex sighed. “I met a white wolf on my way here, who seemed to believe that I could come all the way to the center. She wanted me to find the person in here and let her know that she’s waiting for them in Blackland City. Now that I’ve met you, I guess it must’ve been her.”
Shumi nodded. “Sister Xin and I used an amulet to place an illusion of a beast upon ourselves so we could get through these trials without much notice. She was a white wolf, and I was a bird.”
“You’re not using it anymore?” Alex asked.
“Didn’t need to,” Shumi said. “I was alone since the 7th trial. I have been until I met this guy in the 12th trial.”
Alex was surprised. “You made it all the way to the 12th trial, Whisker? How?”
Whisker quickly shook his head. “I didn’t make it anywhere, brother. I was teleported to the 12th trial island all by myself. I then found her, and she explained that teleportation didn’t work within this realm.”
“I see,” Alex said, turning to Shumi. “Thank you for taking care of Whisker all this time. You mustn’t have been here for long if you too only got to the center recently.”
“The trials? No. I only attempted them twice. But I’ve been here in this world for some time now,” Shumi said.
“Oh! Before or after the teleportation went awry?”
Shumi turned away from him for a moment, looking quite shy.
“What’s wrong? It’s fine if you don’t want to answer,” Alex said quickly.
“The teleportation issues happened after I came here,” she said meekly.
“Okay,” Alex said. “You were lucky to have missed it then.”
“No,” Shumi said quickly. “I mean, it happened after I got here. Right after.”
Alex paused for a moment, taking in the meaning of what she was clearly implying. “You were behind the teleportation issues?”
Shumi nodded. “The moment I arrived in this world, it seemed to notice my presence, and the Talon came active because of it. I believe the trials were created just for me to go through and get to the center.”
Alex watched her with a stunned expression. Now that he was thinking about it, the alligator at the receiving formation had mentioned something about a group of people being lucky enough to have teleported here moments before everything went amiss.
Now it turned out that they hadn’t been lucky at all, but rather it was their presence that caused all of it.
“So you’ve been here for the past 30 years?” Alex asked in surprise.
“Something like that,” Shumi said.
Alex’s eyes narrowed. “You’ve been here for three decades and you only just made it to the center island? How?”
“I didn’t take the trials immediately,” she said. “We couldn’t be sure it was safe. So we let the others go on first. Then, when the first group of people from another world arrived and they were thrown all over the world, I realized my presence was likely causing all the issues. So, I left this world along with sister Xin.”
“You left?” Alex looked surprised.
Shumi nodded. “For some time,” she explained. “We stayed outside for some time to wait, but I couldn’t stay out any longer. Not only had the Talons not gone dormant, the image of the Moon Goddess continued asking me to return. So, after some time, I did.”
“I still didn’t enter so easily. The first time around, sister Xin entered alone to learn about how things were. The second time around, we went in together and gave up halfway through because sister Xin didn’t want to let me continue on all on my own.”
“The third time around, she finally let me get here on my own. From what you’re saying, she should’ve entered the Talon once again and failed.”
Alex nodded. “And you met Whisker here?”
“He teleported directly into the 12th trial. I was surprised at first, and even thought he had come here before me. But it turned out he had been here by mistake instead. Since I’m the cause of why he was here, I’ve been taking care of him ever since, hiding him within my Yin veil.”
‘That must be why I couldn’t talk to him or sense him in the slightest,’ Alex finally understood. ‘He was hidden within her Yin aura, and it killed every bit of aura that got close to her.’
“So,” he spoke. “Am I understanding correctly that you haven’t completed the final trial yet?”
