Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3085
Chapter 3085: Soul Space’s State
Alex came out of the cultivation session with a few thoughts that surprised him more than a little.
In some way, Alex had gotten something from all three of those gods throughout the year.
From the Sword God, he gained Godslayer. Without his refinement of the sword, Godslayer likely wouldn’t have been who he was—something that was more than just a tool.
From the Saber God, he had received the technique Provenance Duality: Replication. It was the technique that the Saber God had given to his subordinates, one of which was Sixghost, through whom Alex had received it back in the Blue Silk Continent as his inheritance.
As for the Method God, his was the oldest of all.
The Spiritual Providence technique he had received from him had come from the black stele back in the Tiger Sect’s crater. The giant stone sword held within it the technique, and it had belonged to the Method God.
Alex couldn’t help but laugh a bit when he realized that.
Alex now also knew he had to be more than careful of Darkness and Death aura, as those were the powers that killed the Undying God. Considering he had a Creation that contained exactly those powers, he wondered how it was going to work.
‘I have one more stage remaining,’ Alex thought. ‘I should get to the fourth stage as soon as I can.’
After taking in a few more things from the meditation session, he opened his eyes to the outside world. It was only then he came to realize that only a few days had passed since he sat down, which included the separation of Godslayer and his viewing and reviewing of the memories.
He quickly checked on the state of his Soul Space to make sure it was working as well as it should. The lack of beasts had brought on an eerie calm to the land, which fascinated Alex.
Whisker was around the mulberry trees that fed the Heavenly Silkworms when he noticed Alex’s presence and looked up.
“Are you done, brother?” Whisker asked.
“Yes, I’m done,” Alex said. “Godslayer is gone now. Half of him became my Origin, and the other half merged with Midnight to become my sword’s spirit.”
Whisker looked excited. “So things went exactly as planned? Congratulations!”
“Thanks,” Alex said. He should’ve been excited really, but it was hard to be happy when he had lost Godslayer. He had been with him for much longer than even Whisker now, after all.
“Anything happen while I was gone?” he asked.
He had sensed the yellow fog of the Soul Space, so it couldn’t have done anything, but he still asked. He expected Whisker to say nothing had happened, but on the contrary, Whisker had some news to give.
“The trees are growing, brother,” Whisker said.
Alex paused for a moment. “They’re… growing?” he asked in a confused tone. “Faster than they already were?”
Whisker nodded. “The Yang tree not so much, but the World Tree is growing. It’s like it has noticed the absence of living beings in the surrounding and is starting to take over more and more of the land.”
“I can sense life draining out of the land that spans between the 4th and 5th mountains. I fear the roots are coming closer to the 4th now and will soon envelop it completely.”
Alex frowned. “All our alchemy ingredients are grown on the 4th mountain, are they not?” Alex asked.
“Yes, on this side of the mountain where the tree’s light can fall on it,” Whisker explained. “The other side is a little barren, but some regular trees still grew there. And now, nothing does.”
Alex frowned. “Is it because the beasts are gone?”
“I think so,” Whisker said. “It’s like the tree had been holding back on account of the beasts being around and is now growing.”
Alex thought for a bit. Had that been what was holding back the World Tree all this time?
Considering it was the main treasure of the demons back during the days of war, when it could by itself cultivate many Divinities and even Celestials, Alex was happy to see it grow.
Even if it took over all of the Demon Realm, he wouldn’t really mind at this point.
‘But to really let it grow, I need to evacuate everyone most likely,’ Alex thought and sighed. “I should really look toward getting a new land to put in my Soul Space.”
The humans still lived in the Playground from what Alex could see, and from the looks of it, Whisker had made no effort to change that. That was good. He didn’t want anyone else to know much about this world anyway.
The beasts had to all take an oath, but he would rather not have to make the humans do the same.
He explained it to Whisker and gave him permission to gather all the alchemy ingredients in the 4th mountain that were now ready. With that, he left his Soul Space, arriving back in the outside world.
He was still in his room, with Pearl cultivating in the other room, while Bai Jingshen sat in protection in the main room outside.
Alex walked out to meet the White Tiger and relay the success of his task. He asked some questions regarding the war and the Undying Gods, and if he knew what had happened to him.
“I don’t know much, but I’m certain the man died,” Bai Jingshen said. “The demons truly only had two things that kept them fighting in the war. One was the tree, and the other was their god. The god died first, and in his absence, they destroyed the tree, stealing away its seed.”
“After that, the war continued for some few dozen millennia, at which point the demons understood they could no longer contend with the humans and keep their resources from being looted away.”
“So, as a final measure, they came to us, asking for our help in finding peace and stopping the war. That was when we set up the treaty and saw to it that no one violated it. That was the day the Eternal War ended.”
