Capítulo 518: Ch-518: Attack on the Auction (1)
As soon as Wang Ming gave his reply, he felt and saw a white flame deep inside his consciousness, which he could summon at any time.
Wang Ming willed it, and a white flame appeared on the top of his palm.
Seeing this, the audience broke out into chatter.
“He actually subdued it!”
“Heavens, how can he subdue such a flame? I could feel myself burning just from getting close to it!”
“He must have some kind of unique physique.”
Many in the audience wore dark expressions, especially Lu Bai, who was gritting his teeth in anger. However, he took a deep breath, as it wasn’t worth provoking Wang Ming and causing trouble for himself and his sect.
“Cough, you should get dressed.”
Wang Ming snapped out of his daze when he heard a coughing sound and looked at Jiang Ruoxi, who was staring at him with a crimson face.
“Heh, oh right.” Wang Ming chuckled as he brought out a new set of robes and put them on.
“Congratulations on subduing the flame. It looks like you were destined to obtain it,” Jiang Ruoxi said with a sigh as she looked at Wang Ming. When she said “destined,” it wasn’t just empty comfort. According to the men of her family who had found the flame, the place where it was discovered was in ruins, filled with the corpses of Pure Core Realm cultivators who had failed to subdue it. Jiang Ruoxi assumed that it was only due to his physique that he managed to subdue the flame.
“Thanks,” Wang Ming said.
“I hope you have money left. I can sense a sharp sword aura on you, so I’m sure you’ll be interested in the last item as well,” Jiang Ruoxi said to Wang Ming.
“Oh, then I’ll leave the stage so you can resume the auction,” Wang Ming muttered, then added in a teasing voice, “As for money, I still have plenty. I just hope that after I win the last item, the others don’t unite to tear me apart for buying most of the items in the auction.”
Hearing this, Jiang Ruoxi snorted with an amused smile.
Just as Wang Ming was about to return to his seat, alarms started ringing throughout the entire venue.
Upon hearing the alarms, many of the guests and staff members immediately understood what it meant.
Jiang Ruoxi wore the ugliest expression as she frowned. “I can’t believe someone managed to breach our security!”
She cursed under her breath and then apologized to the guests. “Dear guests, I must apologize, but it seems we have to cut the auction short today. It appears there has been an intrusion here.”
Even though Jiang Ruoxi showed no panic on her face, inwardly her mind was racing. ‘Who could have breached the security?’
Jiang Ruoxi and the Jiang Family knew there would be many people with ill and greedy intentions toward the five-star auction. Even though it was held in the safest place—the Golden Leaf City, where top cultivators resided—there were still people who let greed cloud their judgment, not to mention this auction, which contained priceless treasures that even top experts would drool over. She believed the security should have been enough to handle any malicious intent, but she did not expect a breach.
Hearing her words, many people in the crowd—especially those who had bought treasures and lacked sufficient strength or protection—panicked, as they had been confident in the venue’s security.
“Shit, which bastards dare to attack the auction hall? Aren’t they afraid of death?”
“Whoever managed to breach the security must not be ordinary.”
“Damn it, just my luck. I bought treasures but didn’t hire any guards. What rotten luck! If I knew this would happen, I would have spent a fortune to hire security.”
The venue had already descended into chaos, with hurried footsteps echoing everywhere as everyone prepared to leave.
However, while they were halfway to the exits, a staff member dressed in official attire rushed over in a panic and whispered a few words into Jiang Ruoxi’s ear, causing her expression to darken.
“Damn it!” Jiang Ruoxi became increasingly agitated.
“What’s wrong?” Wang Ming, who was nearby, asked.
“The security system of the venue has been breached, and all the exit doors have been sealed shut. It’s going to be difficult for us to come and go now,” Jiang Ruoxi replied.
The security system here was not weak, and infiltrating it was no easy task. Sure enough, the guests started to shout when they realized they could not leave.
Bang! Bang!
“Someone, open the door!” a man shouted as he banged on it. Someone even used their technique to try to destroy the door, but nothing happened.
Wang Ming was now realizing the gravity of the situation. It appeared that the intruders had planned for this.
‘Should I just blow the gate?’ Wang Ming thought with a frown. Then he shook his head and looked at Jiang Ruoxi. ‘No, it might harm the others. This is most likely the reason she is not using force.’
Indeed, if the guests were harmed, it would be a stain on the reputation of the Jiang Family. That was the reason neither she nor the staff were using force.
Just then, from an unknown location, there was a sudden explosion, followed by a red beam of light appearing out of thin air and heading straight for the most crowded place.
In the nick of time, Jiang Ruoxi waved her hand, and a large, thick vine appeared and intercepted the red beam.
The guests had nearly been startled out of their wits, but upon seeing the vine in front of them, their complexions returned to normal. They shot grateful looks toward Jiang Ruoxi as they warily looked at the place where the beam had come from.
“The ones hiding should come out now,” Jiang Ruoxi shouted in a voice full of killing intent. Following her words, a few figures walked out without saying a word.
