Capítulo 499: Ch-499:Golden Leaf City Prison (2)
Tap Tap
The Seventh Elder, who was walking up the stairs, flinched, and his back was drenched in cold sweat as he sensed some kind of dormant beast awakening behind him. ‘Looks like it was a success, but those monsters are definitely more powerful and sinister than the clan head.’
The guard who was watching from the side frowned as he narrowed his eyes at the elder and gripped his weapon tighter. “Hey, I hope you’re not planning to break out your grandson, are you?”
The guard could sense the awakening because he did not have the skull mark of the Black Church on his body, which the Seventh Elder had.
The Seventh Elder, who was lost in his own thoughts, scowled when he heard the guard and snorted. “Hmph, I am not an idiot to do that. Don’t worry, I know the consequences of doing that.”
The Seventh Elder said this as they returned to the entrance of the prison and began to walk toward the other staircase that led upward. The guard who accompanied him followed closely behind.
The staircase here was completely different from the gloomy and dirty staircase he had walked before. The staircase here was made of marble, and on the walls there were rare paintings made by famous artists, and incense was lit that contained spiritual energy, which helped cultivators cultivate more easily. If someone visited this place, they would think it was not a prison but a pathway leading to a luxurious hotel.
The guard’s lips twitched when he saw this and cursed, ‘The advantage of being born with privilege.’
As they walked down the corridor, their eyes darted toward the numerous rooms, which were no less luxurious than rooms in the royal palace. Most of them were empty, except for a few.
“Where is my grandson imprisoned?” the Seventh Elder asked with a frown.
“At the very last room,” the guard replied instantly.
“Oh, well, if it isn’t old Zhang, fancy seeing you here,” a voice filled with mockery and anger rang out from the second-to-last room, causing both of them to pause and halt their steps.
There was a middle-aged man with a mocking look on his face, and his eyes burned with anger.
“Well, well, who would have expected you to also get imprisoned here? Who did you kill anyway?” the man asked with a smirk.
“Who are you anyway?” the Seventh Elder asked with a frown.
The smirk on the gloating man’s face froze instantly, and his expression turned to rage when he saw the genuine look of confusion on the Seventh Elder’s face. “Damn you, bastard, how dare you forget? You were the one who tossed me into prison!”
“I did?” the Seventh Elder blinked, then looked at the guard and asked, “Do you know who he is?”
The guard who heard the question had his lips twitch. “He is the son of the Ninth Elder of the Nang Clan.”
“I see, so it’s you. Looks like you improved your trash cultivation,” the Seventh Elder said as he remembered this guy. He had been harassing women in the street who were guests of the Zhang Clan and had killed her bodyguard. He was the one who arrested him. Last time, he had been indulgent and did not cultivate and was only at the Foundation Realm, but now he was at the peak of the Foundation Realm. He could progress so quickly because there was nothing else to do except cultivate here. In fact, many clans sent their lazy and troublesome prodigies here to cultivate, and it worked every time, as they came out strong.
The Seventh Elder did not pay any attention and walked toward his grandson’s room, and a trace of killing intent leaked out, which made the guard frown.
Just as the guard was about to follow, the middle-aged man asked, “Hey, it does not seem like he was arrested. Why did he come?”
“His grandson was arrested because he killed someone,” the guard replied, not bothering to wait for his response.
“Grandson?” The man was stunned and then broke into a grin. “I heard he cherishes his grandson a lot. This must be painful. At least for a few years, he will be confined here.”
Zhang Liang, on the other hand, was scowling in anger and confusion. “Damn, someone must have framed me. I did not kill that bitch. How in the heavens did she die?”
Tap Tap
“Huh?” The man heard the sound of footsteps, and when he saw the figure, his eyes brightened. “Grandpa!”
“Grandpa, can you get me out? This place is too boring,” Zhang Liang said excitedly. He had been bored out of his mind, as he had nothing to do. He honestly thought it was not bad compared to the prison at the bottom—this was more like house arrest. He thought he could endure it, but being a lecherous person by nature, he was used to always having a woman beside him to warm his bed. Now there was none, which made him annoyed.
“Tell me, how did you end up here?” He ignored Zhang Liang’s words and asked in a dangerous voice. Noticing his grandfather’s mood, Zhang Liang did not say anything else and explained everything.
After a few minutes, the Seventh Elder frowned. “A lover, you say?”
He was suspicious about this and concluded that Wang Ming must have something to do with it. Without glancing back, he then started to walk away.
“Grandpa, wait—” Before Zhang Liang could say anything, the next moment his body lit up with fire
.
“AHHHHHH!”
Zhang Liang screamed at the top of his voice as he burned to ash.
The guard who saw this froze and looked at the Seventh Elder in disbelief as he watched him kill his own grandson.
“I did not break any rule. Breaking someone out is illegal, but there is no rule preventing me from killing my own grandson,” the Seventh Elder said indifferently as he walked away.
He passed by the middle-aged man, who had heard and seen everything using his senses, and looked at the Seventh Elder with frightened eyes as if he were some kind of demon, then lowered his head in fear.
