Chapter 430: Ch-430: Attack on Sects (5)

Yang–Yin Sect

Mu Feixu and Qin Mu, who were about to attack, suddenly froze. Cold sweat dripped down their foreheads as an immense pressure—heavier than a mountain—descended upon them making them difficult to remain in the smy. Their bodies trembled, and they almost fell from the sky under the weight. Gritting their teeth, they looked up and saw a young woman floating above them, her expression emotionless and her eyes radiating pure killing intent.

Mu Feixu and Qin Mu immediately used their spiritual sense to gauge her cultivation, and their expressions turned grim when they sensed it which was way higher than theirs.

“Heavens… another Pure Core Realm cultivator? Do they want to completely destroy our sect? Even last time, the ones who attacked us weren’t this powerful. How on earth does the Black Church have such strong cultivators?” Mu Feixu cried inwardly, her heart sinking.

The situation was dire. She could sense another Pure Core Realm cultivator already battling elsewhere in the sect and couldn’t help but wonder how the Black Church managed to recruit or train such monsters, and why they revealing at this time. Each of these people could easily join a royal family or top-tier sect and live like kings—wealth, power, fame, women, anything they desired. Yet, for some unknown reason, they had chosen to become part of a terrorist cult.

“Damn it, our rotten luck,” Qin Mu muttered under his breath. “I was already struggling against a Peak Golden Core Realm cultivator, and now a Pure Core Realm shows up. I think your arrival was useless… no offense, Peak Master Mu.”

Mu Feixu’s face darkened even further at his words but she could deny those words at all.

“None taken, even I’m speechless,” Mu Feixu said helplessly.

Boom! Boom!

“Huh?” Qin Mu, Mu Feixu, the Peak Golden Core Realm cultivator, and even the newly arrived Pure Core Realm expert all turned their gazes toward the distance, where explosions shook the ground and sonic booms echoed through the sky.

“Someone’s holding back Number 9… and he’s actually getting pushed back,” the Pure Core Realm cultivator muttered with a frown as she sensed the ongoing clash.

“Another Pure Core Realm cultivator? And this one’s defending the sect?” Mu Feixu and Qin Mu were both stunned. They could clearly sense two powerful auras colliding — both at the 5th Stage of the Pure Core Realm — and one of them was unmistakably fighting to protect the sect.

“Could it be… we had a hidden powerhouse all this time?” Mu Feixu whispered in disbelief and then frowned as to why they did not know about it.

Woosh! Woosh!

As they were momentarily distracted, two more figures appeared in front of the Pure Core Realm cultivator.

“Sect Master! Supreme Elder!” both Qin Mu and Mu Feixu exclaimed in relief when they saw them. But their expressions quickly shifted to shock when they noticed Jiang Hong was injured.

“Tsk, another Pure Core Realm expert,” Lei Ping clicked his tongue as both he and Jiang Hong ignored the Peak Golden Core Realm enemy and floated to face the woman.

“Hmm, I thought you two were the strongest here,” the woman said with a raised eyebrow, “but it seems there’s a hidden powerhouse among you.”

“Not hidden — just recent,” Jiang Hong replied with a chuckle.

“Aren’t you nervous, facing me?” the woman asked, sensing their calm demeanor.

“We just fought someone who’s at the 5th Stage of the Pure Core Realm,” Jiang Hong said with a smirk. “And you’re only at the 1st Stage. Tell me, should we really be nervous?”

Indeed, the pressure radiating from her was far weaker than the overwhelming aura they had felt earlier.

“Mm, makes sense,” she nodded indifferently, then asked with a raised eyebrow, “I’m curious — who is the person Number 9 fighting?”

“Shouldn’t you introduce yourself first?” Lei Ping asked curiously.

“You can call me Number 25,” the woman replied calmly while looking at the distance with a frown on her face and then to Jiang Hong.

“Do you all call yourselves numbers? Don’t you have any names?” Lei Ping asked curiously. This was the longest conversation they’d had with the Black Church; last time they had only attacked quickly and left.

“Some do have names, but most use numbers. Joining the Black Church means devoting yourself to it and erasing your previous identity,” the woman said with a fanatical look, which caused Jiang Hong to frown — it seemed unnatural.

“Now your turn to answer?” the woman said.

“It’s Elder Feng Chang,” Jiang Hong replied calmly, naming the woman in question. Mu Feixu and Qin Mu were left dumbstruck.

‘What the hell — the Yang Demon?’ both of them mouthed, their jaws dropping when they heard Jiang Hong.

“I have never heard of her,” the woman said.

“You don’t need to know, because you’ll die soon. Peak Master Qin Mu, deal with the other one,” Jiang Hong ordered as he and Lei Ping launched at the woman; she flew backward.

Mu Feixu and Qin Mu exchanged a nod. “Well, looks like our original plan can be implemented,” they said, and both turned to face the Peak Golden Core Realm cultivator with murderous intent. He took a step back.

Shing!

Wang Ming and the masked man teleported into the next round and were greeted by a bone-chilling cold.

The entire place was blanketed in snow, and a violent blizzard accompanied by hail was raging. If any ordinary person were here, they would have frozen to death already.

[Ding Dong]

[The Third Round Has Begun]

[Reach the end of the place]

A glowing projection appeared in the sky, displaying the new instructions.

“Hmm, looks like the first challenge is extreme cold,” Wang Ming said indifferently. This kind of chill was nothing to him—after all, his previous fight with Bai Lingxi had granted him resistance to such environments.

He turned toward the masked man and saw him shivering uncontrollably. The man quickly swallowed a pill, and a faint layer of spiritual energy formed around his body, stopping the tremors.
