Chapter 4732: Forced Into A Compromise?

“Heed my words…!”

The Blood Realm Calamity, with its monstrous appearance of a bloody humanoid creature, opened its jaws agape with fury, its voice a mix of distortion and a screech, “The owner of this place is a terrifying spirit, both you and I can’t hope to offend. The only reason I’m alive is for me to nurture this disabled Realm Calamity that has been stripped of its consciousness, leaving only its parts that bear fruit.”

Davis carefully spaced himself from the Blood Realm Calamity. He was moments away from the plant lifeform, unlike the latter.

His expression was morbid as he first checked the Temporal Voidplane Ring.

He spotted Fairy Thunderblaze in it, frozen in time along with the golden gourd and the scarlet flameseed. Her eyes still held that unreadable gaze, her expression still hidden by a veil. Whatever she tried to relay, he couldn’t even read her lips. Further down the neck, her crimson-purple robe was completely bloodied, but it was just the result of fighting with the Blood Realm Calamity.

However, right around her waist, there were thick fang-like jaws inches away from sinking into her body from all sides. Some tentacles with sharp harpoon-like edges already stabbed into her shoulder, thighs, and even wound around her leg, disallowing her to escape even if she had the strength to do so.

Seeing this, Davis momentarily sighed before he inwardly swore to kill this Blood Realm Calamity no matter what it takes.

However, he was perfectly aware that he was at an impasse with this nearly unkillable Blood Realm Calamity, causing him to forcefully calm himself down.

“If you disturb that thing over there, then that Archon will know and will inevitably descend on us. The barrier sealing me also belongs to him. If it weren’t for that, I would’ve long ascended to the Exalt Stage and the True Deity Stage.”

“Assuming that you could really survive out there, that is.” Davis sneered, “But it turns out that you were only a sheltered Realm Calamity allowed to slaughter and nurture a plant like an enslaved gardener who trims the leaves.”

“Insult me all you want.” The Blood Realm Calamity eerily smiled, “Although I absorbed many humans and know about them all, I’m not one. Your petty insults don’t do anything to me. As long as I can escape this place, I will be content with letting you live. What say you?”

“You want to let me go after all that?” Davis’s expression turned into an amused smile, “Do you take me for a fool? I’ve already established the fact that you can lie through your bloody ripped teeth.”

“Who told you to be so powerful and have great blood vitality?” It cackled, “You’re so delicious. As long as I can absorb you, I was convinced I can break through and leave this place.”

“Ridiculous, you think you can escape such a figure just because you’ve become an Exalt?”

“Since you have already guessed, you should know why.” The Blood Realm Calamity laughed cryptically.

Davis’s expression turned gloomy.

The thousands of Blood Quintessence Orbs at the Exalt Grade and the ghosts. Initially, he wondered why it was growing so much, but after he saw the plant lifeform and the bloody veins connected to its roots, he felt like he understood. The plant lifeform was being nurtured by the Blood Realm Calamity because of that so-called Archon.

It was a blood slave.

However, it turned out that the Blood Realm Calamity was also plotting out its own advancement, which was what Davis’s guess originally was.

After all, he knew what type of breakthrough was necessary for a Divine Exalt to step into the True Deity Stage.

For a cultivator, meditating was of utmost importance to calm one’s mind in order to control internal energy.

But for a Divine Exalt and its subsequent stages, they start taking external energy like faith energy, so how could they gain control of it easily?

Through Awudan’s memories of the mortals, cultivators, and even peers having to worship the Void Reflection Deity, he came to have some guesses.

It was through… rituals!

“On top of slaughtering millions, is having the ghosts fear you some kind of ritual for you?”

“That’s right.” The Blood Realm Calamity cackled, “Using the thousands of Blood Quintessence Orbs, I will have a dual breakthrough to the True Deity Stage. After that, no one can stop me, not even that spirit. But I can spare you and that woman you sealed inside the Temporal Voidplane Ring. Let’s take a Truesoul Oath.”

“Do you even have a Truesoul?”

“Naturally.” The Blood Realm Calamity scoffed before it spread its six arms, “Can’t you see I’m different from the other Realm Calamities?”

“The blood is the greatest essence to nurture souls and bring about consciousness and sentience. The purity of the blood determines how the resulting soul will form.”

Davis kept silent. This correlated with his own hypothesis when he thought about researching Blood Essence Orbs to create new lifeforms.

‘Or… It’s just fooling me into thinking my hypothesis was correct in order to influence my decision…’ He thought, but it didn’t feel like it.

The Blood Realm Calamity’s distorted grin widened, as though it enjoyed schooling him.

“The moment enough blood of sufficient purity gathers, I am born. A higher variant. A sovereign among Realm Calamities. My body might be filth in your eyes, but my soul is complete. I can swear a Truesoul Oath.”

Davis glared at it before he clicked his tongue, “Tsk, tsk. For a creature living inside someone else’s cage, your confidence is truly impressive. How are you going to make the breakthrough without alerting the Archon? For all I know, that existence could be watching from that mountain, no?”

He raised his gaze at the Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak. The humongous, bloody giant had ripped apart the lair’s ceiling, so it was now slightly visible despite the toxic blood fog in the air.

The Blood Realm Calamity cast a furtive glance at the peak and shuddered ever so lightly.

Evidently, it was scared shitless.

“No, the Archon never appeared in the past one hundred and eighty-seven million years. After sealing me, they disappeared, but whenever I try to do something to this plant lifeform, they quickly reappear, crush me into a bloody mess, and disappear again. After disciplining me numerous times, the Archon believes I am tame and bound. They have grown complacent.”

“Now, the fruits hidden underground are almost ripe. They could appear anytime within the next few million years. Therefore, as long as you don’t disturb it, nothing will come about, and I will have enough time to break through by using the Blood Quintessence Orbs and the ghosts.”

“Heh!” Davis sneered, “Even with all that, don’t tell me you still want my blood?”

“Of course, with your blood, not only will I become more powerful, but my chances of entering the True Deity Stage are higher. The Chaotic Genesis Physique, truly…”

The Blood Realm Calamity sucked in a mouthful of blood mist, unable to contain itself.

“Half- no, thirty percent would do! Your true blood essence, give me!” It growled, its tentacles wildly flailing.

“…” Davis grew cold.

He felt a bone-chilling cold seep through his body as he felt like he had never been suppressed to this degree, even with the Covenant, since it was just an indirect form of control. Although he didn’t necessarily feel cornered- with his thoughts and his way of thinking laid bare, this intelligent thing certainly knew how he would counterattack.

“Don’t bother using Judgment Laws on me after handing over the blood essence. It won’t succeed even if you sacrifice Myria’s soul essence to strengthen yourself! Hehehe!”

As though reading his mind, the Blood Realm Calamity laughed at him.

“Hurry, we don’t have much time. Our battle could’ve already attracted that Archon’s attention.” It urged him, while looking impatient, “Are you in or not?”

Davis didn’t reply.

He still kept staring at it. The more he waited, the dangerous the situation would develop into since hundreds of thousands of bloody giants were still out there, gathering together to become bigger once again over the main body’s commands.

After all, it could carry the thought that as long as it could make him use the third strike of the Malevolent Flesh Erasure Fan, it would be able to destroy him with sheer force. There would be no need for negotiation.

In fact, it should be aware that it didn’t need to destroy him since the fan alone will end up corrupting him and make him go mad.

However, the more time passed, the more the Blood Realm Calamity tensed up. Regardless of his fate, its fate was also in question as the Archon might arrive at any moment to check what the commotion was here.

Suddenly, it growled, “You vile Anarchic Divergent. I have more rights to exist in this world than you since the heavens don’t welcome your presence but allow me to exist for the sake of the natural balance of the universe! It is my destiny to devour the lifeforms and repopulate the entire universe with new lifeforms!”

“Obediently cooperate! Otherwise, not only will you die, but your wives will also die since I will take them to the grave after I die. If you think I’m bluffing, then try me. It’s a sacrificial technique that requires my life, but I will use it before that Archon can reap my life. Don’t underestimate my capacity for vengeance after having consumed all that vengeful blood!!!”

The Blood Realm Calamity pounced forward and shrieked like a wild animal, barely stopping itself from Davis.
