Divine Emperor of Death - Chapter 4694
Chapter 4694: Whose Inheritance?
Bylai led the boat to Dalila’s location.
It was another fifty million kilometers to the east of the colossal cherry lotus sea.
Davis was speechless. He was fine with his women splitting up, but they were so far apart. In case something were to happen, how did they plan to respond? He felt aside from Aila, who was protected by the colossal cherry lotus, Dalila could totally be vulnerable.
But considering Dalila could have only split up after Bylai safely delivered her into the trials of the inheritance, he imagined there was not much danger involved.
Bylai was a warrior princess of the Zlatan Family in the Grand Beginnings Continent. It would be unlike her to make a mistake when it comes to stratagems. Most of the time, Davis was aware that they deferred to his commands and strategies. If not him, they deferred to the command of their elder sisters. Otherwise, like Mingzhi, they would have more opportunities to showcase themselves.
A few hours later, the sea was replaced by a lake and a mountainous region surrounding it.
It appeared serene but was disrupted by the numerous cultivators teeming around, looking for treasures. One particular spot was crowded, and Bylai made the flying boat descend there.
Davis, Myria, and Bylai alighted from the flying boat amidst the numerous gazes teeming with curiosity before fear took root.
His party could visibly see many shrinking back and others adopt a battle stance, their gazes incredibly wary. Ignoring their reactions, his gaze landed on the bronze temple-like structure in the center of the island.
It seemed to lead underground. However, there was currently a barrier that restricted people from entering. There was a board in the front that carried characters of the Sky Word Language, telling the viewers to concoct a pill of their cultivation grade to enter, and one above their cultivation grade in order to enter deeper to take the trials.
The second challenge disqualified nearly ninety-nine percent of alchemists, making Davis inwardly laugh.
Unless they were Pill Empyreans, even supreme geniuses with some skill in alchemy could forget about entering this inheritance.
‘Hmm… this inheritance also accommodates different cultivation stages below. Does this mean that there were Immortals and Immortal Kings who had also come here in ancient times?’
Considering spatial vortexes open to many dimensions during many eras, Davis wasn’t surprised. He was just thinking about the correlation between his own passive fate-changing tendency to the appearance of the secret realm in the entirety of the True Immortal World.
In the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm, where his previous home was, he had died with his Ghost Will appearing in the scene to take on Autarch Elluro Coldwing. On that spot, a spatial vortex that led to the secret realm appeared.
In this case, he liked to think his divergence had summoned that particular spatial vortex.
However, this secret realm that led to the Elemental Dimension was a phenomenon that appeared throughout the entire True Immortal World. He wasn’t arrogant enough to think his divergence made spatial vortex gates appear. Therefore, the only remaining conclusion was that this was bound to happen. However, since the spatial vortex he summoned was the first one to appear, at least in the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy, Davis liked to think that his divergence paved the path for this secret realm to appear all over the True Immortal World earlier, plus limited it at the Immortal Emperor Stage.
Otherwise, he felt like even Immortals and Immortal Kings should be able to enter or perhaps even Empyreans, as long as one could enter through a spatial vortex that led through the Shard Continent. However, the secret realm didn’t allow it.
It strictly limited the entry to the Immortal Emperor Stage.
Davis had one more hypothesis.
The number of Primarch Grade resources his family had collected was simply monumental. He didn’t believe that in ancient times, people collectively weren’t able to accumulate that many in a period of ten years or seventy, like the original time limit that was divined. Perhaps it was the difference in the strengths and the Peak-Level Empyrean forces they employed. However, if that wasn’t the case, Davis guessed that in ancient times, the ones who entered this sector of the Shard World were no more than Immortals and Immortal Kings.
In that case, it would make sense why they weren’t able to gather so many Primarch Grade resources back then. As Immortal Kings, they wouldn’t even be able to win against the weak spirits, so how would they gain Primarch Grade resources? Even if they become Immortal Emperors and reach their peak in accordance with the Shard Region’s limit, they would simply be unable to procure that many resources.
Hence, this secret realm should’ve been considered immensely dangerous in ancient times, and because they were unable to procure a lot of Primarch Grade resources from here, their powers didn’t have a large stack of Primarch Grade resources, making Davis understand why they had so little Primarch Grade resources in their coffers, and everyone was hungry for them now.
Nevertheless, this was just his hypothesis.
Over the subsequent eras, it would be common for higher-grade resources to be easily consumed and rarely replenished. Without a suitable source, replenishing Primarch Grade and True Deity Grade resources would simply be impossible, especially the latter. Davis even doubted whether True Deity Grade resources even had a chance to appear in the Greater Realms.
If they didn’t, he imagined that even True Deities wouldn’t bother to stay much in the Greater Realm, taking their place in the vast emptiness of space outside the three layers and within the universe.
Nonetheless, all this consideration was for him to guess the origin of this inheritance site.
Who was it left by? There was no clue or inclination, as it just appeared to be an ordinary-looking structure, yet the formation behind it, he could tell it was at Peak-Level Empyrean Grade. He felt like it wouldn’t be easily be able to break it, but doable nevertheless.
He was more curious about who left this inheritance. Was this person a trapped cultivator who made his way to the Exalt Stage and left when the secret realm opened the next time? Will it be helpful to create Exalt Grade Pills?
He couldn’t help but doubt, considering this inheritance was built here instead of the Shard Continent. After all, this Shard Region’s limit was only Peak Empyrean.
He shared his doubts with Myria and Bylai.
Bylai couldn’t think of anything, but Myria added, “This inheritance doesn’t necessarily need to have just one master. Even if there is only one master, that person might have a group of followers who would’ve built this place for them. Back then, the Seven Boundless Brothers had many followers even when they were unknown in the wider world. They were all young supreme geniuses, after all.”
