Capítulo 1316: Final Battle – 3

Max stared down at the vast crater carved into the ground and did not entertain even a single thought that the previous strike had ended the battle. If Mark could be killed so easily, then the name immortal evil god would have been nothing more than an empty joke spoken by fearful mortals.

“Hahaha.”

As expected, Mark’s laughter echoed from within the depths of the crater, distorted yet full of vitality. The shattered land trembled as his presence surged upward once more. “Who would have thought,” Mark said with undisguised amusement, “that the small genius from the Lower Domain, the one I could once manipulate with a flick of my hand, could now fight me on equal footing.”

His figure rose into the sky, the broken earth falling away beneath him as he hovered opposite Max. His gaze locked onto Max with something close to admiration. “You, Max, are the strongest genius this world has ever produced,” he declared openly. “Lucien is no genius. He was simply a god gifted child from birth. You are different. You started with nothing and climbed your way to this height step by step. That makes you a true genius.”

A cruel smile spread across his face. “And I enjoy nothing more than crushing geniuses at their peak. So come. Show me your true power. Show me your true strength.”

Max exhaled slowly, his breathing steady despite the overwhelming pressure radiating from Mark. He raised his sword, and in that moment, he stopped holding back. The fifth level concept of severing sword was released fully.

The effect was immediate and terrifying.

The space around Max began to fracture without sound. Invisible lines of severance spread outward like cracks in reality itself, slicing through air, light, and space as if they were nothing more than fragile fabric. The very laws of the world recoiled, struggling to remain intact under the absolute authority of severance. The sky warped violently, and the ground beneath Max split apart in clean, unnaturally precise cuts that extended endlessly into the distance.

If not for the fifth level concept of space that Max had already imposed upon the battlefield, the consequences would have been catastrophic beyond measure. Entire regions of the world would have been cleaved apart, continents torn asunder, and the planet itself pushed toward collapse. Max’s spatial authority sealed the area tightly, forcing the destructive reach of severance to remain confined, even as reality strained against the restriction.

Within that sealed domain, Max stood at the center like an executioner embodying finality itself. His sword hummed softly, not with energy, but with intent. Everything before it felt divisible. Everything felt temporary.

Mark’s laughter slowly faded as he felt it.

His expression sharpened, his instincts screaming in alarm as the severing power brushed against his divine authority. For the first time since regaining his full strength, Mark felt something dangerously close to threat.

Max lifted his gaze, eyes calm and unwavering, as the severing concept continued to expand around him, turning the battlefield into a realm where even existence itself could be cut apart at his will.

And then he moved…

The moment Max stepped forward, the world itself seemed to recoil in anticipation. His sword moved, not in haste, not in hesitation, but with absolute certainty, and a single arc of severing intent swept outward. It did not roar or blaze with light. It simply existed, and everything in its path began to split apart as if reality had accepted its own division.

Mark vanished from the line of attack at the final instant, his figure reappearing far to the side, and the severing wave continued onward unchecked. The distant horizon twisted violently as a massive section of land was sliced away cleanly, the cut so precise that even the sky above it warped and collapsed inward before stabilizing under Max’s spatial seal.

Mark glanced toward the destruction with a faint smile that carried neither fear nor urgency. “What a powerful attack,” he said calmly, his voice steady despite the devastation. “Yet you missed.”

Max did not respond. His sword moved again, this time faster, and then faster still. Each swing carried the full authority of the fifth level concept of severing sword, and each arc was capable of ending existence within its reach.

Mark weaved between them with frightening precision, sometimes stepping aside, sometimes shifting through space itself, allowing the attacks to pass by him by the narrowest margin. Every missed strike carved into the sealed battlefield, tearing away mountains, vaporizing seas, and leaving behind vast empty scars where the world had once existed.

The spatial barrier trembled repeatedly under the strain, forced to constantly repair itself as Max’s power threatened to overwhelm even his own control.

Yet despite the destruction, Mark remained untouched.

“You are choosing to dodge,” Max said at last, his voice calm but heavy with intent. “That means you know these attacks can hurt you.”

Mark laughed softly as another severing slash passed so close that it cut away a portion of his cloak. “Or it means I find dodging more entertaining,” he replied. “Do not misunderstand, Max. I can block them.”

To prove his words, Mark raised his hand as Max unleashed another strike, one sharper and denser than before. The severing power crashed into Mark’s palm, and the impact shook the entire sealed domain.

Space folded inward violently, light fractured, and the ground beneath Mark’s feet collapsed into a massive abyss. For a brief moment, the severing intent pressed against him with terrifying force, but Mark stood unmoved, his divine authority flaring as he held the attack back with raw power alone.

With a casual twist of his wrist, he dispersed it, the severing energy unraveling harmlessly into nothing.

“You see,” Mark said, lowering his hand. “I block because I choose to. I dodge because I choose to. This battle is not as one sided as you wish it to be.”

Max’s eyes narrowed, yet his grip on the sword remained steady. He knew Mark was telling the truth. Each of his attacks carried the power to destroy beings beyond Divine Rank, yet Mark met them without desperation, without panic. The distance between them was measured not in strength alone but in endurance, control, and the cost each was willing to pay.

Though he did manage to trick Mark. And that was the first step.

‘That’s the limit of my sword attacks. Keep thinking that.’ Max mused inwardly.
