Chapter 434: Demonic Seat of Power

Ever since he entered the scene, she went from being the queen bee to a support character, and she hated it from the bottom of her heart.

Tessa walked beside Kaiden. Her posture was rigid. The entire formation spoke of Kaiden’s rapid ascent: a powerful new monster mistress leading the way, an armed army following her commands, and a whole guild reduced to acting as bodyguards against his own new forces.

Bastet and Aria watched the demoness ahead of them with matching looks of disapproval. A lot of tongue clicks sounded.

Calypso was shaking her hips before Kaiden’s eyes with every step she took!

However, Kaiden was happy to see that while she probably did walk with a bit of exaggeration, perhaps to annoy the two in a sneaky manner, she was not a woman overcome with lust. Despite the sensual motions of her butt, she did not do anything drastic to seduce him like a sex fiend might.

Kaiden couldn’t have faulted the woman even if she had. It seemed that Calypso was an older existence who had lived for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Yet after so many years of her demonic life, she was not only suddenly forced to combat the emotions of love, but she was also just now subjugated.

Her entire world was turned upside down, and she found herself in a harem with humans and a felinid. She was no longer a boss monster. She lost multiple levels and became weaker.

As such, it would’ve been understandable if she were acting in an unruly manner.

But no. Despite such an incredible change to her life in the span of an hour, Calypso was a calm and collected woman. She led them toward her home with a steady heart.

Her life might’ve changed, but she was ready to do her utmost to support her new man and family.

Such was the nature of the Infernal Matriarch – even if she liked to playfully torment some of her family members.

…

Minutes later, the forest abruptly ended. They reached the dungeon’s entrance.

It should have been hidden deep in the undergrowth, but the area was entirely flattened.

Hundreds of monsters had stampeded out of the gate when it broke more than a week ago after the strange woman’s proclamation of the protection’s end, leaving behind a wide circle of churned earth and broken timber.

The monstrous foot traffic had left the ground looking like a quarry, with a distinct depression in the center. There, in the middle of the destruction, lay the dungeon gate itself.

It was a swirling vortex of energy, framed by two crumbling stone pillars, looking dark and unstable after the ordeal. It remained stubbornly active, waiting for its next visitors.

Calypso led the group to the swirling vortex of energy. “This is the gate to my domain.” Her voice was now crisp and informative. “I have been defeated, but my home remains active. I can tell that the core of it is still pulsing strong.”

Bastet spoke up. “It’s weird… When Master defeated me, my dungeon disappeared! Why is yours different?”

Calypso sent the tanned felinid a glance of mighty, feminine disapproval. “Please don’t tell me, did you fight my Darling?”

“…” Bastet’s eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. Her heart was telling her she was not going to like what the demoness had to say next.

Seeing that expression only prompted the smuggest of looks to appear on the gorgeous red-skinned woman’s face. She looked at the felinid with condescension. “I see. So that’s how it was.”

Bastet began growling as she sensed the woman’s perceived supremacy over her.

But Calypso was not bothered. “You see, I wasn’t exactly defeated… I bent the knee of my free will. You were a bad kitten who hissed and clawed at my Darling, weren’t you? You must’ve gotten beaten to a pulp, and then Darling showed you your place, isn’t that right? Unlike a certain someone, I knew mine from the beginning.”

Calypso then shook her head and smiled a friendly one, “Don’t beat yourself up over this. You couldn’t help yourself. I suppose this is the difference between a pet girl and a woman who is head wife material.”

“Grr!!!!”

Bastet could only growl in response because the demoness was right. She brought up a good point to explain why the felinid’s desert dungeon ended with her subjugation while the demoness’s didn’t.

Kaiden and the others beat Bastet in battle, but instead of landing the finishing blow on her head, the Paragon of Sin instead ended up blowing a load in her womb.

And the tanned felinid did not like it one bit! Not that she was subjugated like that, but that she fought back like a bad girl while Calypso knew her place instantly!

It made her feel guilty!

Kaiden’s palm landed on her bronze shoulders, ending the drama before it even truly began. Bastet instantly lost her animosity and looked at Kaiden with pleading eyes. “I’m sorry…”

He could only shake his head amusedly. This was such an awesome woman, he simply had to hold her delicate hands in his and give them a firm squeeze. “You did nothing wrong. You’re my beloved felinid, Bastet, and even if you fought back, I love you just as much as all the others.” He then smirked as he added, “You should already know I love feisty women, don’t you?”

Luna scoffed, seeing the teary, lovey-dovey expression of the tanned kitten. “You really shouldn’t feel guilty, by the way. Calypso is a demon, and Kaiden transformed into a demon, which was probably what let her submit.”

The felinid nodded strongly in agreement. “That’s right!”

“Doesn’t that just mean I have better compatibility?” Calypso mused under her breath, but she was sensible enough not to let the felinid hear her thoughts.

That’s right; the demoness now understood perfectly well that Bastet was not a woman she could just constantly undermine. Bastet has already greatly endeared herself to their man, thus if Calypso was always acting to agitate the woman and be antagonistic, she would just get scolded by her Darling, and perhaps even more and more disliked!

Which was something she refused to let happen!

She needed to come up with a more subtle strategy.

The group stepped through the gate.

They found themselves inside a vast world that was adorned with a red sky. The air here was heavy, smelling of ozone, brimstone, and lava. Jagged, dark crystalline formations jutted out from the surface of a nearby mountain.

This was a true demonic hellscape.

“The Dungeon Core is what sustains the environment,” Calypso began. “This first area is the Lesser Fiend Gallery, mostly Ravagers and other dumb troublemakers. As you go deeper, the defenses get better. There are multiple different paths, but they all lead to the same endpoint.”

Kaiden and the others found it a bit weird how Calypso seemed to know so much about how the dungeon worked. Bastet, when she was subjugated, seemed to be unable to convey such details to them.

It was as if magic forbade her from speaking, or even remembering.

But Calypso faced no such problems.

Kaiden couldn’t help but wonder if Calypso’s willing surrender to him and the [Monster Girl Subjugator] skill of his system created a weird bug of sorts that allowed an ex-monster to retain and relay more information about her past as a boss monster.

The atmosphere made the humans uneasy. Calypso’s army, however, stood at attention, blending into the background. As they walked, the monsters slowly dispersed, returning to their spots inside the dungeon.

“I have kept the domain simple and brutal,” Calypso said with a proud tilt of her head. “The entire purpose is to grind intruders into dust before they can reach the end. It is a highly effective extermination zone.”

She led them through a central path, ignoring the branching roads. They walked for hours on end.

…

Finally, they reached an immense chamber, cylindrical and cathedral-like. The ceiling here was impossibly high, vanishing into smoky darkness. Waterfalls of what looked like pure lava cascaded down the walls.

In the dead center of the chamber, on a circular dais overlooking the chasm below, stood the Boss Room. And in the middle of the dais, the singular focus of the entire domain, was an ornate, high-backed demonic throne. It was crafted from polished bone and inlaid with veins of glowing red.

Calypso turned to Kaiden with joyous eyes.

“That is the seat of power, the nexus of the Dungeon Core’s authority,” she said, gesturing toward the throne. “It is your seat now, Darling.”

Kaiden looked at the intimidating chair, then back at her. “Are you sure? You’re the boss of this place.”

Calypso shook her head. “I was the temporary holder, the guardian until its true heir came to replace me. Now, I wish to officially relinquish my claim and stand by your side as you sit on the throne. Forever and ever.”

Kaiden hesitated, but only for a short bit.

What was the worst that could happen?

It was just a demonic chair.

Kaiden walked up the many steps to the dais and placed his hand on the armrest of the bone throne. He looked back at his women, who watched with anticipation. Calypso offered him an encouraging smile and starry, emotional eyes.

Giving her Darling the seat of power and legacy that used to define her has made the woman’s heart jump with joy.

Kaiden lowered himself onto the throne.

The moment his body connected with the throne, the entire structure of the dungeon shook and trembled.

Something drastic was going on.
