Capítulo 737: Training a Divine Demon’s Body

The golden sun glanced over the distant sand fields with a shimmering ray, which illuminated a tall, handsome male above six feet six inches. The man held a thick, iron pole above his head while shirtless. His sweat profusely dripped from his muscles each time he performed a strike.

After dealing with Nerim’s jealousy, he came to the backyard of the hotel, hidden from the main street and started training his body, like he did every morning.

“Hah!”

Asmodeus gathered the mana, divine aura and abyssal energies into one collective swirl inside his stomach. The force created a strong suction, causing muscles, flesh and organs to contort and tighten each time he moved.

‘A little more weight!’

This weapon was crafted by Logan in the past, created with raw metals and scraps with a high base weight. As such, the two-metre pole weighed 50 kilograms or 110 lbs in the empire’s measurement system.

Swoosh!

Sweat, salt and other minerals flung into the air as he struck once again.

His movements appeared laboured, like someone trying to lift too many weights at once, with bulging muscles covered in thick pulsing veins. Asmodeus used his three separate energies to press down on his body, effectively mimicking gravity itself.

‘Ein, that woman used a divine art much stronger than this.’

He modelled this spell after the arbiter who brought him complete defeat back after his marriage. This magic was his solution; when facing her, he would activate it in reverse, alleviating part of her divine art and the gravity effect she controlled.

‘My current limit… can I go further?’

Crack!

The ground beneath him suddenly cracked, dozens of thin fissures spreading in all directions like a spider’s web. Each blow carried enough force to spread the sand ahead of him in a long line.

“Phew, this is pretty tough.”

“Easy there, soldier, it looks like you’re working up a mighty fine appetite.”

Mu La noticed the noise earlier and came to check, only to find the shirtless hunk swinging an iron pole in her back garden. A smile bloomed on her face as she scanned his chest and back with her hungry, mature eyes.

“Miss Mu La?” Asmodeus lowered the pole, which hit the ground with a loud Deng! The weight created a small crater in the sand as he turned to greet her. “What’s the matter?”

“N-Nothing.” Her throat sounded. She then shook her head, looking away from his shiny bronze muscles. “T-The morning sun is quite deceptive. Please keep hydrated. I noticed you from the window and brought this iced jug of fresh water.”

“Thanks.”

Asmodeus wasn’t stupid; he noticed her enjoying the sight of his body, but didn’t mind. The glance of a pretty woman was quite flattering. The cool water dripped from the heat as he took a sip, the taste fresh, thanks to the frozen lemons bobbing inside the jug.

“Haa….! This water really hit the spot, thanks, Miss Mu La.”

“Come on, just call me Aunt Mu La.”

After all, he’d saved her daughter and hadn’t asked for anything in return. Once the dwarves and mercenaries spread the rumours, nobody caused trouble for her little inn anymore. In fact, she even received a reward from the guards.

“To think those dwarves held a bounty, fufu.”

He drank slowly while admiring her curvaceous hips, the way her chest swayed ever so slightly, revealing her deep cleavage. The fun thing about Mu La was that this was all done on purpose. Asmodeus noticed her actions and enjoyed them freely.

The pair enjoyed a small chat about the current atmosphere of the city, along with rumours she’d heard from other guests. After half an hour, other guests started gathering for the breakfast rush, so she quickly headed back.

Asmodeus watched her figure leave and guessed this was her way of trying to repay him.

He quietly mulled over the information, but most of it wasn’t helpful. The only thing that he appreciated was about Lun. “From those rumours. It seems she’s been in a foul mood since around the time those dwarves appeared, and the bronze blade guild also seems to be busier than usual.”

Something was happening in this city, something that might affect his plans; what Asmodeus wanted to avoid was the auction being cancelled or changed. So he closed his eyes and started to swing the huge pole once again, allowing the pressure crushing his entire body to clear his mind.

Logan mentioned he would be going to the bar today, so Asmodeus planned to join him, although it was rude to shoulder in on a brother’s date. If there were something dangerous going on, he’d rather do so. ‘Let’s bring Nerim and make it a double date… that should keep Lun from being on guard.’

.

.

.

An hour later, Asmodeus stepped out of the shower wearing a single towel, although in his demonic figure, it looked comically small.

“You look so good like that~” Of course, Nerim enjoyed this look; her lips curled into a grin as she swept from one side of the room to the other, observing from closer up. “Come, let this miss enjoy the view.”

“…”

Asmodeus gave her a cold glance, rolling his eyes.

Not long after she became comfortable with him, this mermaid began to take advantage of and flirt with him whenever she could. The siren enjoyed whispering vulgar little words when they walked through the market that would shock a sailor.

“Okay, stop it. We’re going to visit the guild tonight with Logan, so get yourself ready; the auction is the day after tomorrow.”

“Hmm~ well, whatever you want, husband~”

She enjoyed speaking with a soft tone, elongating words with a melodic hum.

Nerim leaned closer, clearly enjoying his lack of reaction, before finally backing off with a soft laugh. She spun on her heel and padded toward the wardrobe, deliberately swaying her hips with a proud grin.

“Fufu~ isn’t this our first actual date?” she mused. “But a seedy guild pub, you really know how to plan a romantic outing.”

Asmodeus shrugged, letting the towel slip to the ground, grabbing his clothes. “Well, it’s hardly a proper date. Let’s get through this, and I promise to take you somewhere nice.”

“Mmm, excuses,” she hummed, slipping into a light travelling dress—dark blue with silver accents that complemented her scales. “But fine. I’ll behave.” She paused, then added, “Mostly.”

He dressed quickly, strapping on light gear with a simple gesture. As he settled, the lingering pressure from his magic faded.

His bones suddenly creaked, muscles relaxed, and his heart slowed down. ‘So this is my limit… four hours.’ Asmodeus endured four hours with ten times the normal gravity on his body before fully depleting his energy.

“Come on, let’s eat something good, those fools are minding Vivi.” He shook his head, putting the training to the back of his mind.

Nerim bounced behind him; she no longer cared what happened. Listening to Asmodeus and where he wanted to go, she would only complain when needed. In fact, the enjoyment of this tingling, floaty feeling in her stomach made her too happy.

Asmodeus glanced back at her once, then pushed open the door, the noise of the inn swelling around them. The scent of bread, spices, and cooked meat hit him immediately, grounding him after the morning’s strain.

The dining room was already lively. Adventurers talked loudly, merchants argued over prices, and a few mercenaries nursed drinks despite the early hour. Vivi’s bell-like laughter rang out from one of the tables, where she sat between Thorim and Zahir, far too indulgent with sweets.

“There you are!” Vivi waved, cheeks puffed as she chewed. “Aunt Mu La said I could have another roll if I behaved!”

Asmodeus shook his head but smiled faintly. “Don’t eat too many, this is just breakfast!”

Nerim slipped into the seat beside Zahir and lifted Vivi onto her lap, gently fixing the girl’s messy hair with a touch of her water magic. “Look at you, all messy like a wild cat!”

“Kya~ Sister Nerim, it’s cold.”

Asmodeus sat opposite them, resting his elbows on the table. The fatigue from training lingered through his bones. But thanks to the morning training and cold shower, his mind was clear, alert and focused.

He noted the visitors, those who were adventurers or mercenaries, while keeping track of the guards patrolling outside.

‘The guards look tense.’

The faces of the guards outside glanced around with bleak expressions, their eyes dull and wrapped in dark rings. Asmodeus just hoped that it wasn’t something related to him. He wanted to attend the auction, free his people and head back as soon as possible.

Nerim’s cheerful face suddenly noticed his face as she combed Vivi’s hair. “Look at you. Are you lost in thought again?”

“Mm?” He lifted his brows while watching a group of armed dwarves who resembled the ones from the other day. “Always.”

Then he glanced at Nerim and slipped closer to her, reaching out to hook her smooth, fleshy waist. “Tonight… just stay close to me, understand?”

She smiled back and winked. “I was planning on it.”
