Capítulo 728: The Bronze Blade Merchantry Guild

Asmodeus didn’t linger after being scolded for teasing Nerim. Despite her warrior-like build, her resilience to nightly activities surprised him. When she tried to join him downstairs, her little jelly legs shook and trembled. If not for his inhuman speed, she might have hit her head on the edge of a sharp stone counter.

He left the inn with Logan.

As for Zahir and Thorim, the two asked if they could browse the market together.

However, because of this, Asmodeus, who was a few years older, felt that the age and maturity gap felt larger than it should be. Usually, shouldn’t he be roaming around with the two young lads? After all, he wasn’t even half of Logan’s age yet!

‘Whatever, those kids seem to be buying something boring.’

After travelling together for so long, he noticed Zahir’s strange hobbies. His biggest hobby apart from mixing spices for cooking was drinking unique blends of tea; this hobby was interlinked with Thorim, who enjoyed eating delicious food.

So before he even had the chance, the little bastards fled, leaving him with the grumpy old man.

“Take care on your way, handsome.” Mu La remained showing her signature charm, but only to Asmodeus. The poor dwarf, who tried to woo her the night before, could only blush and cover his face with his Eastern hat.

Asmodeus, who had expelled his burning desire only a few hours ago, glanced at the curvaceous milf and flashed a charming smile.

‘Playing the handsome young man is quite fun.’

After stepping outside, the surrounding residents rushed around, carrying massive baskets or dragging their camels with stock and other things to sell on the market.

He covered his face with the silk wrap, which Nerim bought for him at some point, the smooth fabric cooling as it protected his skin from the golden sands dancing in the wild morning breeze.

.

.

.

Meanwhile, two women sat beside the window upstairs, one wearing a cute little frilly dress, her tiny height adding to her cuteness, while she pressed her cheek on the glass, destroying that appeal instantly. Beside her, Nerim’s tanned skin carried a blue glow thanks to the countless scales which framed her cheeks, neck, breast and figure.

Vivi glanced at her so-called big sister with a frown. “Hmph!”

“What’s the matter, Vivi?”

“You.” The young oni folded her arms and scowled at the pretty siren. “Are you sure you’ll let Dad go like this? What if he runs into another beauty? After eating you, he’s going to dine and dash!”

“N-No, Vivi… where did you learn phrases like this?” Nerim’s cheeks dripped with sweat. If Asmodeus thought it was her, then she’d be sashimi!

“Hehe~ Mother Gretel!”

“E-Eh? That can’t be right. Why did she say such a thing?”

The little troublemaker shrugged, then watched Asmodeus, who walked towards the distant market. Upon seeing the market, the little devil’s eyes became big and shiny. ‘I must go!’ A little plan started growing in her mind as she glanced at the useless sister beside her.

“I don’t know!” Once again, she lifted both hands with an exaggerated sigh. “Mom was talking to a pair of pretty aunts, their hair was colourful and fluffy!”

“I see…”

Nerim hadn’t met all of Asmodeus’s wives, but she knew of Gretel, Serena and Lumina. The colourful-haired aunts could only be a few of his women, so she asked. “Did they look similar, or maybe have horns and wings?”

Unlike Nerim, who hadn’t been to the capital city, she’d learned a lot about Asmodeus during meetings where his main wives would meet him and learned bits and pieces. Vivi would go back to Lumeria to study several times a week, especially during dangerous moments.

Asmodeus would have left her there with the other kids if not for her cheeky nature and how she always sneakily gets on his good side.

“Mm! They were pretty, but small!”

Vivi seemed to measure her height, and then nodded. Nerim wondered what profound thoughts went through that mind. She could hardly believe this was the sharp and violent thief from almost two months ago. “I can win!”

“??????”

Nerim tilted her head, confused about how or what she would win. Instead, she shifted her gaze back to Asmodeus’s back figure. Somehow, after their passionate night, she discovered her ability to focus and home in on his voice, body, scent and even the taste. This strange ability made her blush.

“Eh?” She gasped.

When she focused on him, his head turned back. Nerim could swear their eyes met, and he flashed a cheeky wink at her.

“Am I sick?”

“Sister, are you sick?” Vivi tilted her head.

Somehow, Nerim knew this little devil was teasing her. The moment her eyes flashed, the little oni jumped down and dashed towards her private room. “H-Hey! You, get back here right now!”

Vivi turned back and smirked before grabbing the door handle and, while maintaining eye contact, slamming the door shut.

Nerim was speechless. In the past, Vivi would never tease or make fun of Nerim, but now it seemed she’d lost that privilege.

‘It’s all because she lost to Asmodeus all morning!’

.

.

.

After meeting Nerim’s gaze, Asmodeus felt a flush of comfortable energy wash over him. The sticky, dry heat became distant as a thin veil of Nerim’s water mana encompassed his body and face, helping keep his skin moisturised and protected.

‘I wonder if she did this on purpose?’

Nerim’s changes seemed gradual after becoming his woman. She didn’t become a demoness, but the siren blood in her veins grew thicker, purer and the amount of scales and charm she had exploded.

‘This is quite interesting.’

Asmodeus hadn’t met a woman who didn’t become a demon, even the goddesses Serena and Lumina began to take on demonic traits after they exchanged flesh. He glanced at Logan, who held his little wallet tight.

“You don’t need to be so on guard; you’re making the shopkeepers terrified with that scowl.”

“Lad, you wouldn’t know, but Hansberg is a dog-eat-dog place! The amount of money lost to pickpockets and thieves is enough to fund a small town each year.”

Logan’s nagging wasn’t annoying, so Asmodeus let him continue, about how there were thieves who could even take items from item rings and storage items. That’s why adventurers or merchants who came to the east badmouthed it.

The merchants endured because they could also make a fortune in this city, and if caught, thieves would lose their hand for each time caught. The first time, they lost their left hand. Second time, right hand, third time, it was life.

“Well, don’t be so worried. I can keep your things safe if you’re that fearful.”

Asmodeus stored his items and money in a place that mortals could never touch; instead, it was something that resembled a modern-day bank account. Only he and his wives could access it by wielding his mana.

‘Though the kids keep trying to break into it.’

His thoughts lingered on Nyxielle, Elira, Selphira and Seris. Those four girls, when they didn’t fight, came up with the most adorable yet dangerous ideas. When they learned where Asmodeus was, the four of them tried to convince Sariel, who’d just spent the night with him and was cum-drunk, to teach them how to make portals.

‘If not for Riel, would my kids have vanished?’

“Ack, so we’re really going to this place?” Logan glanced up at the massive building ahead of them. The round roof formed a beautiful eastern tower, which resembled the Far East in Asmodeus’s previous world. Covered in bright colours, paintings on the walls, and the emblem was a simple bronze scimitar.

“What’s the matter, doesn’t it look pretty?”

“Pretty! A merchant’s job is to sell things, not be pretty, peh!”

Dwarves were quite stubborn about the idea of things, but this place was essential, not only for the Bronze Sword’s merchants but also for information brokers.

“Be good, look at the men guarding the doors.”

“!”

Unlike the mainland and the Empire’s guards, who lacked muscles, they resembled chicken soldiers. The mercenaries and guards at the Bronze Blade were tall, with broad shoulders, dark skin and arms as thick as Logan’s thighs.

So he soon shut his mouth, complaining. Because they probably heard his complaints, no. Their sharp gaze upon the dwarf gave it away.

“Hmph, whatever you say, lad!”

Asmodeus rarely acted arrogantly or tried to make enemies, so he greeted the mercenaries with a smile and a polite salute. He wasn’t here as the emperor of Lumeria, but just an adventurer named Ryuji.

“What business?” Their voices bellowed at the same time.

Many people lurking on the street paid attention to Asmodeus from all directions. The power and depth of this information guild could be felt when he started using his divine aura to scan the surroundings.

“I am here to beseech the bronze bird.”

Once Asmodeus spoke the key phrase, their eyes shifted. Then their voices lowered, asking the follow-up question.

The entrance questions were a series of randomly picked questions revolving around the true nature of the Bronze Blade Guild.

Once a division of the desert kingdoms’ army, after the great war with the Empire and following the disaster that caused the fall of their land, the Bronze Blade took several heirs to the continent and awaited the chance to rise again.

Asmodeus learned this from an information broker near Francel.

Suppose the people who planned to sell Brando and his men were the darkness in the eastern parts of the continent. Then, the Bronze Blade were the light that could help him secure them if he gained their trust.

‘Slowly. Please hold on, Brando, I have not forgotten you for a moment.’

If not for Serena’s warning, he would have immediately unleashed his divinity and found them all right now.

However, the number of gods who blessed the Empire entered the hundreds.

‘Even with my combat prowess, with my wives… we’d achieve a bitter victory at best. Then those bastards might take advantage of the situation.’

Thus, Asmodeus’s first plan failed.
