Capítulo 716: The Everyday Life of Demon Children

“Asmodeus?”

A charming voice called out to Asmodeus from behind him as he watched Seris, Nyxielle and the other children sitting in a little classroom. He watched their little hands scribbling in their textbooks while bickering at Gretel every so often.

‘Leon and Selphira seem to enjoy studying, a lot.’

His lips curled into a cheeky grin while watching the swaying midnight hair of Selphira, who kicked her feet in sync with her long tail with sharp ridges. “Alice?” He spoke to the woman behind him, glancing for a moment before returning to his children.

The most troublesome students who kept making noise or appeared restless brought a smile to his face. Asmodeus rarely got the chance to visit the empire during the day. Thanks to delaying their dungeon run, he came back to watch them.

‘Varian is quite hard working.’

He watched Varian scold Nyxielle with a flick on her nose each time she started throwing small purple embers across the room at Seris.

In return, Seris glared at her sister before humming to herself.

“Hm?”

To his surprise, when Seris began to hum or sing, the flora in the room shifted, small vines slipped across the walls and approached Nyxielle from all directions.

‘So she can control the plants through song?’

“They’re working hard, but it seems we have a few little trouble makers.” Alice was quite strict with their education.

‘Well, as the woman who planned everything, i can’t blame her.’

“Do you think they’re old enough to be like you, their exemplary mother?” Asmodeus joked, lifting her chin with his thumb. “Don’t be too rough on them, okay? Some people learn differently. Try having them learn in a more physical or vocational environment.”

“Vocational? What a strange word…”

Alice was a native of this world, so she didn’t understand many of the teaching styles or ways to help those with unique minds to keep up.

“Think of it like knights learn through combat, swinging and physical practise, mages through study and learning mathematics and rulers learn from history and various tutors.”

“You mentioned these kinds of things before. I do have some plans. But…” Alice glanced at the various sheets in her hands. Some were regarding the children’s growth, or specialities and unique traits.

She glanced at her husband, with keen, dark eyes like pots of ink.

The way he lifted her chin and caressed her cheeks with his fingers sent tingles down her spine, almost flipping her switch the moment their eyes met.

“Thalys, Ardyn and Elira probably need a unique method of training.”

“You’re quite observant.” Asmodeus leaned closer, kissing her moist lips lightly, then pulled back with a smile. “I hope you won’t judge or pressure them too much if they fall behind, not everyone is a genius like you. Alice.”

“Eh?”

He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling Alice close enough to enjoy her fragrance and sweet breath. “To be honest, I was a horrible student, so don’t blame them.”

Alice’s wet eyes darted around to avoid his fiery gaze, but remained close enough to touch their noses.

In the classroom, Varian and Kaelen sat side by side, occasionally sharing snacks or whispering to each other. ‘Velvet and Levia’s kids both get along so well… is it because their mother’s are always training together?’

Lith sat behind them and sometimes used his tail to flick snacks across the room. It was quite interesting to see his children and their unique habits.

Time passed, and Gretel and Alice’s morning lessons ended.

Next was lunch, where the chaos started.

Asmodeus used invisibility magic and his divine aura to cloak himself, walking along the dining room tables. Because he came from another world, most of their education was influenced by the strict boarding schools he once heard about from his mother.

The children’s meals were probably a world apart from his previous life, though.

Expensive planned meals from the palace chef, using the highest-quality monster ingredients to boost their growth as demons.

Erika and Levia both helped in the kitchen. He watched them bring the monsters used for the meals. The actual chefs were demon knights who put down their blades and became guardian knights.

‘The food smells great.’

Demons didn’t need to eat, but eating monster meat helped develop their bodies and improve their strength. Also, with much thanks to Alice and Serena, they found that devouring monster meat while growing boosted their mental abilities.

Suddenly, a delicate and cute little voice echoed from the table beside him.

“Dad loves rubbing my head the most!”

Selphira puffed out her chest while pointing at Seris and Nyxielle, who seemed to have bragged about the evening story time.

“No way! Daddy always tucks me in and reads me my favourite stories!”

“Don’t lie, Seris! Papa loves me the most, he even brings me snacks in secret from Mom!”

Varian chewed his meatballs while ignoring the arrogant Nyxielle.

Lith quietly watched them while resting his head on his palm. Asmodeus enjoyed the rare little smirk on his lips.

‘Lith’s actually smiling! But… It’s at his sister’s fighting, my son is a little twisted.’

Asmodeus poked his son’s cheek. Thanks to his magic, the poor boy jumped, looking around with a pale face. Despite his lofty and stoic atmosphere, Asmodeus knew the truth. Lith enjoyed tales about knights and heroes the most.

“Oh?”

A sound of admiration leaked from his lips as Leon came from the other table and began to speak to the three girls.

“Sisters, please don’t fight!”

“Heh, it’s the little runt!” Seris was cruel to Leon, snorting and turning her nose up… but she stopped fighting, while peeking at Leon’s reactions a few times.

‘Is she a tsundere?’

Leon and Ryusei resembled Asmodeus the most in his human form, while Lith, Ardyn and Varian resembled their mothers and his demon form more.

That’s why when Leon or Ryusei got involved, the girls normally stopped fighting, even if they complained.

“Hmph, brother Leo is unfair! Speaking to Nyx first! Don’t you know she wets the bed!?”

Seris heartlessly spilt Nyxielle’s secret.

The evil little witch curled her lips, much like her mother, as she glanced back at the devastated little demon.

Nyx turned pale, her lower lip trembling.

“I…I don’t… brother… don’t listen!” She appeared to be genuinely scared. Suddenly, tears brimmed in her eyes and fell as she started crying. “Wooo…. please…. Don’t tell Papa!”

‘Oh god…’

He wanted to rush out and hug her tight; hearing his girls cry triggered a strange ache inside his chest. It felt like someone grabbed his heart and crushed it… But he resisted the urge, watching as Gretel, in her maid outfit, rushed to their table with hurried steps.

“Nyx? Lady Nyxielle? What’s the matter?”

All the children were of royal blood, but Asmodeus and his wives didn’t wish for them to be raised arrogantly; thus, he didn’t give them special treatment as much as possible.

Thus, when Gretel called her name, the lovely bundle of fluff dove into her chest and started blaming Selphira, Leona and Seris like a little snitch.

“Now now, Lady Nyxielle.” Gretel glanced at the other children with a warm smile, her aura spreading out with a warm and comforting tingle. “You know your father adores you no matter what, right?”

“Bu-But what if he thinks Nyx is a naughty girl!?”

Lith’s expression changed when he heard Nyxielle crying. He looked eager to speak or reach out. Asmodeus knelt beside his son with a wide grin. ‘To think this cold and rebellious little muffin cares so much.’

‘Well that’s Vinea and my son for you…’

Vinea adored Asmodea for decades, fighting in hellish battles to keep her safe, so Asmodeus never doubted their son. Lith was the first to pat Nyxielle’s hair like she was a scared little cat, and soon Seris who looked wronged, stood in front of Nyxielle and took her hand.

“I’m sorry, sister…”

“Hnnnnng~ I hate you.”

“Now now, you don’t hate her, Lady Nyxielle… if Seris wasn’t here, who would play with you in magic class?” Gretel tapped the nose of Nyx with a bright smile, her horn glowing with mana as she squatted enough to flash Asmodeus with her black silk leggings.

“…Nn…”

‘I think it’s time for me to head to Serena…’

He glanced at the older children, with Aurelia and Velmina both scooping the food they hated onto Tsukihana’s plate, while Ryusei scolded them to no avail.

Having so many children, Asmodeus felt a sense of gratitude to the lich who allowed his Time Domain to break through, now able to maintain it around himself and cut his existence from the world’s eyes while resting.

On the Mainland, it was currently the dead of night, but here it was afternoon.

Now, Asmodeus could send a part of his consciousness to observe his children like this, although touching or moving things was difficult. Technically, this body was just a phantom created within his dreams.

But the duration was quite short…

Five hours, and he needed to recharge for a full day.

‘Now I just need to train, and focus my mind so I can visit my kids while doing things with my main body.’

The limitation of needing to focus or sleep was a little too restrictive for someone like Asmodeus, who didn’t need to sleep for longer than an hour for a full recovery.

However, seeing his children during their daily habits was enough to boost his mood and make him determined to find Brando faster. He wanted to be there, teaching them how to wield their weapons and mana, to fight and learn things.

“Phew, I’m off, Alice.”

Of his many wives, only those who reached Rank Three could see his phantom form. This didn’t mean he wouldn’t teleport later on and enjoy a quiet time with his wives. It just gave him the chance to spend time learning more about his kids.

‘But to think Nyxielle wets the bed, haha….’

Somehow he thought about her mother… and how she ‘made a mess’ when they enjoyed adult games.

“It’s in their genes.”
