Chapter 2192: Auction for a Single Gold Coin(3)

“Five hundred thousand? For a single coin?” Yuan raised an eyebrow at the absurd starting price. Now he understood why Chen Cheng gave him so much money without hesitation.

“550,000!”

Someone immediately increased the bid.

“560,000!”

“590,000!”

“690,000!”

The guests continued bidding one after another, and in the blink of an eye, raised the bid to over a million small Chaos Coins.

“A million…?” Wu Qi’s eyes widened, his jaw falling open as he stared at the chaotic scene. For someone from an ordinary family like him, such a sum was nothing short of astronomical. It was something he could only dream of.

However, the auction was just getting started.

“1,200,000!”

“1,500,000!”

“3,000,000!”

In the blink of an eye, someone doubled the highest bid, causing heads to turn.

“Isn’t that the Golden King, who is a hardcore collector for anything gold?”

“I knew he’d show up for the gold coin.”

“I heard that almost everything in his house is gold—including the house itself.”

The other guests started chatting with each other. Although a thousand guests were present, most of them had no plans to bid for the gold coin, as it was obviously beyond their capabilities.

However, the bidders inside the auction house were not the only ones competing. Many guests who had been unable to enter due to limited space were placing their bids from outside.

The bidding for the gold coin continued fiercely for several more minutes before it slowed down, and the number of bidders drastically decreased.

Sometime later, Chen Cheng announced the winner.

“S-Sold to the Golden King for 70 million small Chaos Coins!”

Sure enough, the Golden King won the bid.

“Holy shit… 70 million?! I knew gold coins were expensive, but I didn’t think it would be worth this much!”

In the past, most gold coins had sold for only a few million at best, with the highest ever recorded at seven million. But those had all been damaged coins. A flawless coin like the one Yuan offered had never been seen before.

“This marks the end of today’s auction. Once again, I would like to thank everyone who has come today for your participation.” Chen Cheng bowed to the crowd.

“If you have purchased an item, please head to the collection room to complete the transaction.”

“One last announcement before I take my leave… If you haven’t heard already, the Chaos Auction House will be offering a Spirit Stone for sale in five days. However, due to its immense value and high profile, strict requirements will be enforced for participation. I ask for your understanding,” he said before turning around and disappearing from the stage.

“Let’s collect our money, shall we?” Yuan turned to face Wu Qi with a smile.

“Okay…” Wu Qi nodded in a dazed manner.

After leaving the room, they were led to the collection room by the servant who had been waiting outside.

There were two collection rooms in the auction house. One was for the buyers and the other for sellers.

“You can collect your money here once the buyer completes the transaction,” said the servant.

Sometime later, Chen Cheng showed up in their room with a large chest.

“After deducting our auction house’s fifteen percent fee, your profit from the sale of the gold coin amounts to 59,500,000 small Chaos Coins. We’ve already converted them into large Chaos Coins for your convenience—there are 5,950 in total,” Chen Cheng explained as he opened the box and revealed a mountain of coins in it.

“Do you have any questions for me?”

Yuan retrieved thirty large Chaos Coins from the box and handed them to him.

“This is more than I lend you…” Chen Cheng said with a surprised face.

“Consider it a bonus,” Yuan said with a smile.

“Thank you!” Chen Cheng bowed deeply.

Yuan turned to Wu Qi and asked, “You ready to return home?”

“Yes!” he nodded.

“I’ll carry the money for you,” Yuan said as he stored the box inside his spatial ring.

“?!?!”

Both Wu Qi and Chen Cheng stared at him with a bewildered look on their faces, as they had never seen a spatial ring before.

“W-Where did it go?!” Wu Qi asked.

Yuan showed him the ring and said, “In here.”

“I have never seen anything like that before!” he remarked.

“That function… don’t tell me it’s a Spatial Ring…?” Chen Cheng asked after swallowing nervously.

Yuan calmly nodded.

“Heavens…” Chen Cheng was speechless.

Spatial Rings were unimaginably rare—so rare that fewer than ten existed in the entire Primordial Realm, each belonging only to the realm’s most powerful figures.

‘Not only does he have many pristine gold coins and a spirit stone, but he also has a Spatial Ring?! Just who in the world is this guy?!’ Chen Cheng cried inwardly.

“If there’s nothing else, we’ll be taking our leave now,” said Yuan.

“O-Oh, okay. I’ll see you in five days for the spirit stone’s auction.” Chen Cheng nodded.

Yuan and his group started walking toward the door, but before they could reach it, it swung open, and two figures stepped into the room.

When Chen Cheng saw these two figures, his face immediately twisted with surprise.

“This humble servant greets the Chaos Elders!”

“Chaos Elders?” Yuan raised an eyebrow as he looked at the man and woman, both dressed in black, standing by the entrance.

They also stared back, and after a moment of silence, the man opened his mouth to speak, “Are you the one with the Spirit Stone?”

“Who’s asking?” Yuan responded.

“We’re from the Chaotic Sect,” replied the woman.

“I see. And what do you want?”

“We’re here to talk.”

“Talk? I’m pretty sure I already said to wait until after the auction for the spirit stone,” Yuan said.

The woman frowned and said, “How impudent. The Chaotic Sect went out of its way to approach you, and you’re telling us to wait? Do you really think you’re above us because you have a spirit stone?”
